Chapter 227: Chapter – 206 – A Preliminary Discussion (Part 1)
Ferdinand’s Point Of View
"Hey, Ferdinand. Just got a call from Jaymehson... Meeting of the Kings starts in an hour." Sylvester said, as he walked into my office.
"About time. I’m guessing, he doesn’t have any good news, judging from how long it took." I said with a heavy sigh.
It had taken Zachariah over a week to get back to the Kings with an update from his meeting. It was foolish to assume that he had any kind of good news for us.
"I’ve already informed the others. Meyhymn and Nahana would like to join as well, if that’s alright with you." Sylvester added.
"Of course. I take no issue with their involvement. Meyhymn is really putting his namesake into action. He’s going all out with his attacks against the government dogs. In my opinion, it’s best to let him act as he chooses." I chuckled.
Meyhymn had been going all out with his information warfare. It was like he had meticulously prepared all of his information ahead of time, for an event such as this. I would not stand in his way now.
"Yeah... Nahana gave us some pretty damning information as well. Though, she refuses to name her source, I think it’s something that everyone should hear. However..." Sylvester paused, looking worried.
His anxiety was blatantly clear to see, and it immediately made me concerned.
"What?" I asked.
"We should probably brief Tristan first. There’s no telling how he will react..." Sylvester replied, nervously.
"Are you going to tell me what the hell has you so worried? Or do I have to wait until you tell Tristan too?" I asked with a glare.
"Well, the short version is that he may have another Mate of sorts in some other government facility. It’s extremely possible that he is unaware, and doesn’t remember..." Sylvester said, hesitantly.
"Hold on... What?!"
"Yeah... I had the same reaction..." Sylvester replied, dryly.
"What the hell are you saying?!" I demanded, standing up immediately.
"Look, we’ll have to get the details from Nahana... But, I don’t really understand it all either..." Sylvester shrugged.
"Summon everyone, Now!" I said, forcefully.
Sylvester shrugged and said nothing else. He then left my office immediately to gather everyone. I was becoming emotionally catatonic. I tried my best to calm down before everyone arrived. I had no doubt that Tristan was already privy to my current emotions, but I didn’t want to put any undue stress on him before our meeting even started.
As I began to pace my office, a knock sounded at my door. Sylvester strode in, along with Tristan, Bellamy, Cole, Meyhymn, Nahana, Zambian, and Lahnsen. Due to both Santiago and the twins being at the safe house, Zambian and Lahnsen were going to take point in their stead.
"Time is short, so let’s not waste time with unnecessary topics. As you all know, we will be having a meeting with the Kings soon, but it has come to my attention, that we need to have a preliminary discussion." I said, as I took my seat.
"Yeah. If nothing else, we at least need to all be on the same page before the meeting begins." Bellamy agreed.
"Nahana, I think you should start with what you know. Considering how damning it is for everyone here, I’d wager that it’s the most important information we’ve gotten so far. Meyhymn, you can give us your input at anytime." I said.
"Understood." Meyhymn readily agreed.
"Well, from what I know and understand... The information that I’ve compiled about Shaihffer and Chazmen suggests that they aren’t entirely working as a single unit. It’s more like they have a common enemy, and they are using each other to achieve their own individual goals. According to a report I received recently, there exists a government facility that is dedicated to making Infallible Alphas, instead of Omegas. Said facility, has been successful in its endeavor... However..."
Nahana let out a tired sigh, as she glanced around the room nervously.
She then placed a hand on her forehead, and continued, "This facility, made an Alpha with Maybelline’s notes and documentations of Tristan’s creation. In truth, they have made quite a few Alphas that do not seem to be affected by the sterilization crisis. However, there exists a specific Alpha that was not as fortunate as their comrades."
"I know of the facility that you speak of. The Alphas that they have created so far do not show any signs of procreation disparities. I am unsure if they are actively selling the Alphas that they have created. Even though they have made great strides in their genome serum, they haven’t gone public about their success." Meyhymn added.
"That is likely due to the abrupt collapse of two high profile facilities. It’s unknown to them, how the public at large will react. Omegas aren’t exactly highly favored in Delgahtowe, but the same cannot be said about Alphas... That’s not the most concerning issue, though..." Nahana said.
"Explain it properly, if you would." Bellamy said.
"Within that facility, there is a single Alpha who is a potential threat to this household. The information we’ve gathered, suggests that Tristan has imprinted on this Alpha. In doing so, the Alpha’s genome has become unstable, as well as the Alpha. Though it is obvious that the imprinting is heavily one-sided, the Alpha cannot be overlooked. Shaihffer’s actions suggests that he intends to use said Alpha in an unknown way." Nahana said, concluding her report.
The air in the room became heavy and oppressive all at once. Tristan was staring at Nahana in stunned silence, his jaw completely dropped.
Just as I was about to ask Nahana for more information about the Alpha, Tristan stood up abruptly, shaking his head.
"Hold on. Wait just a second. You... mean... Wait..."
Tristan couldn’t formulate a cohesive sentence. From an outward perspective, he looked shocked beyond reason, and sick to his stomach. However, due to our Mated Bond...
"You know the Alpha she is referring to?" Cole asked Tristan, clearly sensing what his mates were.
"I mean... At the time, I was just happy to meet an Alpha who didn’t force his pheromones on me. The director told me that he was just like me, but wouldn’t explain any further. All we did was talk, and eat alone together. There was never any significant contac–" Tristan stopped abruptly, and became extremely enraged.
It was such a strange turnaround that no one dared to say anything at all. His pheromones burst from him all at once, as his ire reached it’s peak.
"Tristan, calm down. What’s wrong?" Bellamy asked, standing up and taking his hand.
"They never told me about my genome at the facility. They never explained anything to me. In hindsight however, I now realize what they had done... We spent hours together. The meeting was only interrupted when that Alpha’s nose started to bleed. I hadn’t come of age yet when I met him. So my pheromones weren’t as potent as they are now. That said, due to the Director’s depravity, they ran numerous tests on my pheromone potency. The meal they had provided was also laced with a pheromone inducer of sorts. It wasn’t until I met you all and mated you, that I could sense and control my pheromones..." Tristan said, his panic steadily rising alongside his anger.
It was all starting to make sense now. Due to the forceful nature of the facility’s director, Tristan had been saturating the Alpha in his pheromones. Whatever linK they shared through their genome, had triggered their connection, and inadvertently imprinted on the Alpha.
"We’re you ever exposed to the Alpha’s pheromones?" Nahana asked.
"Briefly, when his nose started to bleed. His pheromones flared as well. Back then, I had assumed that that was the reason behind them ending our meeting. I stupidly thought that they didn’t want him to try to mate with me unexpectedly. Thinking about it now, his pheromones didn’t repulse me, either. If anything, they were soothing. They made me feel ridiculously nostalgic, and at peace..."
"Well, shit... That doesn’t sound good at all..." Sylvester sighed.
"But how could they use him against us? And why? I don’t understand how they could do that, unless..."
A sudden look of realization dawned on Tristan’s face. Internally, all his anger and anxiety was immediately replaced with fear.
I could understand his reaction. If Shaihffer somehow released that Alpha in or around StohneGarrdin, he would be able to track down Tristan, immediately. Drawing him out, and capturing him in one fell swoop.
"I’m beginning to think I should have risked staying at the safe house with the others. I’m too much of a liability now..." Tristan murmured.
"Oho? You planning to run off with your childhood crush, and leave your other Alphas in the dust?" Bellamy asked, looking hurt and angry.
"That’s not what I meant... I’ve long since come of age. Do you not understand what that means?"
’They will affect each other in a much more unpredictable way now... Fuck!’
