Chapter 226: Chapter – 205 –No More Threats, Only Action
Sîvret’s Point Of View
"We aren’t going to get anymore information out of these damn Omegas, boss. We should just take the info we got from the facility back to Chazmen, and be done with it." Came a muffled voice from beyond the doors.
"No, we can still try to gather more. This place is far removed from both the city, and facility. We can conduct a more thorough questioning here, then we ever could back at the facility." Came a reply.
"We’re too exposed here though. Not to mention, the Omegas have begun to put up their guards around us now. No doubt because of our suspicious prying." Came a third voice.
"At the very least we need to monitor the Mafia King’s movements, and inform Chazmen of any defensive actions the Duhtchy takes as a whole."
Giving a broad smirk, I forcefully pushed aside both doors in a dramatic fashion. There were three men sitting at a round dining table, in an otherwise empty hall.
"Well now, that sounds like quiet the interesting conversation you all are having. Please, don’t stop on my account." I said, taking a seat at the table as well, the smile never leaving my face.
The three men tensed up immediately, and my men surrounded the table. The room was so quiet it was as if the men didn’t even dare to breathe.
"Do go on. I’m curious to know what other kind of ideas you have." I said, resting my clasped hands above the table.
One of the men slowly put his hands down out of sight and set all my men off on high alert.
"Ah ah ah. Hands where I can see them boys. Place them atop the table, palms flat against it, if you would." I said.
When the men looked between each other nervously for too long, I heard several guns cock behind me at once.
"Our King gave you an order." Kah’Meer said darkly.
With that, the men swallowed dryly, and placed their hands atop the table. If I was being honest, I was now just drawing out their execution for entertainment. There was no way in hell that I’d let any of these idiots live. But I couldn’t deny my curiosity.
"Mafia King Sîvret, please have–"
"Don’t beg for your life, it’s unsightly. You knew the risks of your espionage mission, did you not?" I asked, darkly.
All three men hung their heads, and began to tremble. I didn’t know their faces, so I was curious to know how long they’d been in my Duhtchy and facility.
"Tell me fellas, what exactly were your orders?" I asked no one in particular.
For a moment, no one said anything at all. They wouldn’t even meet my gaze.
Just as my men were losing their patience, a small, nervous voice, broke the silence.
"We were told to infiltrate the facility, and report any information that we found..." The man to my left replied.
"What kind of information?" I asked.
"Sir, if it’s all the same to you, I’d rather you just kill me now. Let’s not drag this out any longer. You have no intention of letting us leave here alive, correct?" The man in the middle said, a determined glint in his eyes.
I looked up at one of my men standing behind him, and gave a subtle nod. Without wasting another moment, he quickly removed his knife strapped across his chest, and stabbed it through the man’s hand.
"Aaaah! Gaaah! Y-You... Bastards!" He cried out, trying to free his impaled hand.
"Yes, I plan to end your miserable lives. That is only logical, considering all the harm you could bring to my Duhtchy and its people otherwise. However, the manner in which you die, and how much you will suffer before then, will depend on how you conduct yourselves during this discussion. Understand?" I said with a wave of my hand.
At that movement, all my men unsheathed their knives, holding them at the ready. The three men gulped audibly, their eyes widening in pure terror.

Raymohnd’s Point Of View
The air in the room was so thick with tension that it was hard to breathe. The two men trembling in their seats were clearly nervous about something, but at this point there was no telling what it was.
However, something had struck me as odd about the men. I had been present for both their interviews, and subsequent hiring. The information that they were providing was false.
"Mahlekai Sir? May I be permitted to speak?" I asked slowly.
"Of course, you need not ask for permission. Speak freely whenever you wish." He replied with a calm smile.
Even though he was wearing a calm smile, his eyes were fierce and scrutinizing. It seemed like he too had noticed their suspicious behavior.
"Both these men were hired about 4 and a half years ago. Gervahnt was hired a few months after Polairress." I said, making the men stiffen with anxiety.
"Oh? Is that so?" Mahlekai said, leveling a glare at the men in question.
"Uh... Hahaha... it would appear that the years are taking their toll on me..." Gervahnt chuckled nervously.
"Indeed. I wonder what else may have slipped your mind..." Mahlekai retorted, annoyed.
"W-What do you mean?" Polairress asked.
"Who sent you guys to spy on my King?" Mahlekai asked, cutting straight to the point.
"N-No one! I assure you, Sir!" Gervahnt stammered.
"I will not ask again." Mahlekai growled, a menacing glint in his eyes.
A heavy silence fell over the room, as both men looked around nervously. By now, it was clear that they were both guilty. However, it did not appear that they were working together at all.
"Your silence is quite loud, y’know? I’m sure I can wager a guess, however... You were both sent by a different person. One is no doubt Chazmen, the other obviously Shaihffer... Hahaha... How childish."
Even though Mahlekai was laughing, he did not appear to be amused in the slightest. In fact, his mood seemed to be darkening by the minute.
"If you tell me what you know, I will not harm you... However, if you continue to withhold information from me, I promise to drag your death, pain, and suffering out for days on end." Mahlekai said, trying to appear malevolent.
I couldn’t agree to letting them live, no matter what information they gave us. However, I was also not in a position to question Mahlekai’s decisions either.
"Will you truly spare my life Sir?" Polairress asked Mahlekai, timidly.
"It is as I said."
Was his only reply. And with that, I knew for certain these men would never see another sunrise. The two men however, were not very intelligent at all. They both relaxed considerably and exhaled a sigh.
"I was sent by Shaihffer to investigate the financial aspects of this Duhtchy’s facility, relay any noteworthy successes in its prosperity, compare them to the Financials of our own facilities, and the loyalty of its staff..." Polairress said, as if shedding a massive weight on his shoulders.
Gervahnt looked at the man in surprise, as if he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Mahlekai noticed immediately.
"Gervahnt, you seem surprised by this information... Why is that?" He asked.
"It’s not surprise for the information he’s providing, as much as it is for the amount tasks he was given. Chazmen only ordered me to report on the progression of the Genetic research being done here. Unfortunately, in all my time here, I was not made privy to new research. I was always told to compound my own experiments... That said, I am aware that there exists a detailed blueprint of the genetic research and creation of the Golden Goose of Delgaide..." Gervahnt replied.
From what they said, one could surmise that the brothers were not actually working in tandem with each other. There was so much that we still didn’t know.
"And have either of you reported anything back to them? Are there more people like you within the Duhtchy?" I asked.
"I’m unaware of the potential spies within the Duhtchy, however, due to the strick interview and thorough background check the facility here does– especially now– I know that many of the potential employees chosen by Shaihffer didn’t make the cut." Polairress said.
"I am the same, although I do know that the other facilities run by the Kings are not exempt from infiltration." Gervahnt added.
"I see. I understand each of your position now. Men, secure these men, and have them detained. Zachariah will be the one to decide their execution date." Mahlekai said, dismissively.
"But Sir! You gave us your word!" They yelled in unison.
"You are mistaken, idiots. I merely said that I would not harm you. This is Zachariah’s Duhtchy after all, is it not obvious that he would be the one to deliver verdicts and punishments?" Mahlekai asked, dryly.
The men could do nothing but stare in absolute horror.
