Chapter 164: Side Story - 4 - More Than We Can Handle
Aidehynn’s Point Of View
"Sir, there are far too many Omegas here now. How are we expected to handle this influx of people?" Zoeh asked me, panicking.
"We will take it one day at a time. They will need time to adjust, and we will need to help them through their physical set backs..." I replied.
It had been 5 days since we took in the 61 Omegas. Day 2 had been a nightmare for sure. The pheromones of the Lore’rahlye Omegas were not to be underestimated. Even I was not immune to their pull.
On the first day, we had invited all of the Lore’rahlye Omegas in our cafeteria, to have a discussion about their futures. It seemed that the older ones knew about their constitutions, and the problems that came with them.
But the younger ones didn’t seem to fully understand it yet. I explained that the long term plan was to recieve inhibitors, to help them with controlling their pheromones, but short term they’d need to be taken care of via sex.
Not a single one of the older Omegas were apposed to the idea. They actually preferred it. The problem was, we didn’t have enough Alphas in the facility, and this wasn’t exactly something we could put flyers up about, or air commercials for.
We had given each Omega who was of age, a tranquilizer syringe of sorts. If they ever encountered an unruly Alpha or an Alpha who disobeyed my rules, they were to inject them with it immediately.
We had placed them in rooms, 2 at a time. So that they could essentially have someone watch out for them, as well. They were more than welcomed to choose their own roommate, but most of them seemed to not know each other.
The ones under 15 years of age, were placed in rooms with at least 3 others. Waihlynn had taken the women and toddlers to his facility, so the youngest ones among my ranks were 5 years old.
Along with a roommate, we equipped their rooms with panic buttons. Pushing said button would light up a switchboard, signaling our nurse’s station. The Omegas had quite an amusing reaction to the walk through, and explanation.
One Omega had asked, "Why would we need a button to panic anyone?"
It had taken every ounce of strength I had, not to burst into laughter. Once I explained the nature of my facility, and the reason for the buttons, however, they seemed to be even more confused.
It was entirely like they hadn’t trusted a single word spoken to them, before they left the Lore’rahlye facility.
Another Omega had asked, "Do we call you Master, now?"
To which I replied with a firm, "Absolutely fucking not."
I then had to explain to them what freedom was, and that everyone here had a choice.
After that explanation, I was hit with a question that made me want to pull out my hair.
"How many times do we need to service you, and your men a day, in order to eat?" An Omega had asked, nervously.
I then had Zoeh explain the daily schedule, and go over meal times, thoroughly.
Needless to say, Day 1 had been quite the ordeal. So I could understand why Zoeh was currently panicking. It seemed that Waihlynn was also having a rough go at things. He had asked me to write up a daily itinerary that he could follow, and incorporate into his facility quickly.
I had Chleo make a skeleton schedule for him to follow. Apparently she had gone a step further, and wrote a list of things to prepare for the Omegas, and a speech for him to give, to comfort the new anxious Omegas.
"Zoeh, we will need to put out a job request of sorts." I said, pondering the future.
"A job, Sir?" She asked, clearly confused.
"Yes. The job of a caretaker. The description will need to be discreet, and we will need to thoroughly vet the applicants... But we will need at least 30 Alphas. Preferably 20 males and 10 to 15 females." I replied.
Zoeh looked up at me with a start, she had certainly pieced together my meaning.
"And the pay?" She asked, taking notes to make a plan.
"Hmm? I’m thinking, 40K a year... or at minimum, $20 an hour..." I said, thoughtfully.
It wasn’t a small matter we were asking for, and the discretion needed to be air tight. Because if word spread about what was being asked of the citizens in the Duhtchy, people would end up... going missing...
"Sir, how long are they expected to stay in this position?" Zoeh asked, pulling me from my thoughts.
"I’d say 6 months to a year... I can’t say for sure how much Bellamy will charge us for the inhibitors. B&G Pharmaceuticals has their fair share of demons to fight with production, so we’ll need about that long to find something that’ll work as a substitute." I replied.
"Sir... Forgive me for overstepping, but you seem to have other plans in mind as well... Your face is giving it away..." Zoeh said, quizzically.
"Haha! Astute as always, Zoeh... Can’t hide anything from you, it seems..." I chuckled.
Then, I let out a deep sigh. She was right, I did have bigger plans for the future. I wasn’t at all sure how to go about them, however. Because I didn’t have enough information. I wanted to talk to Tristan more, maybe even the other Omega they mentioned being from Lore’rahlye, that they had taken in. I had far too many questions, and not enough answers.
"After seeing Tristan with his mates at the Summit, I couldn’t help but feel sentimental. Their love and bond was stronger than anything I had ever seen. Even miles apart, they were still connected to each other. I know they are probably a rare case, but I’m hoping that the Omegas from the Lore’rahlye facility can find a good mate to take them in. So they too, can have that kind of strong and fierce love as well. They definitely deserve it, don’t you think? After talking with them, don’t you think they deserve love and care as well?" I asked, thoughtfully.
"Well... That would certainly help with the population control here... there are far too many Alphas here in Ash’Burhrowz... but seeing as you can’t sell them, and the love you are referring to needs to happen naturally... this seems like the proper course of action..." She said, as logical as ever.
"Playing matchmaker to save the Duhtchy, huh?" I chuckled.
As we began to relax and formulate a broader plan, my office door opened abruptly.
"Sir... Uhm, your brothers are here to see you..." Chleo said, nervously.
I looked at Zoeh, who nodded in understanding. She gathered her belongings, and then took her place behind me instead.
"It’s fine, Chleo. Let them in." I replied, with a calm I certainly didn’t feel.
Waihlynn visiting was one thing, but having Naithynn visit as well, was nerve-wracking by any standards. He hadn’t spoken a single word to me since our return from Demhongade.
"Hey brother, it’s good to see you." Waihlynn said, as he walked into my office.
Naithynn followed closely behind, but never said a word. He just looked at me with a blank expression.
"Hey guys, what brings you to my neck of the woods?" I asked, trying to hide my nervousness.
"I just got a message from Bellamy. Apparently, he was able to produce an inhibitor that they can actually mass produce, and put on the market. He also said, that as a favor to Tristan, any facilities that took in Omegas from Lore’rahlye will get a bulk discount." Waihlynn said, taking a seat.
He pushed his phone towards me so that I could see the message as well, and sure enough that’s exactly what it said.
"The school structure is going pretty well in Wess’Mohrean’s facility too. I’m not sure what to do about the Omegas constitution yet... it’s honestly been a nightmare..." Waihlynn sighed.
"Maybe we can contact Dyahlettah, and send a few Omegas her way, if her facility is up and running now." I suggested.
I didn’t mind having the extra Omegas, but Waihlynn’s facility was not like mine. I knew he was having a tough time adjusting to everything properly.
I also didn’t mind sending the younger Omegas to Dyahlettah, either. She loved children a great deal, and I knew they would flourish under her tutelage.
"Yeah... I’ll call her... I don’t mind having the Omegas... But we seemed to have taken on more than we can handle, little brother." Waihlynn said, with an uneasy chuckle.
"Yeah... I could never have imagined that it would be this much of a challenge. Tristan had a cause to be worried, and to make the rules that he did. I can see how this could make someone act carelessly, or neglectful towards the Omegas..." I sighed.
’I should really call him...’
