Chapter 988: Chapter 541: How about driving a nail here?

Elder Hassan was having people tally the supplies. Sean Knight, Clarence Hughes, and Elijah Hastings approached him.

"Elder Hassan, Principal Miller has an urgent matter and wishes to return to our country. We’ve discussed it just now, and I will take over his share.

"I’ll convert it to cash for him. What do you think?"

Elder Hassan glanced at Sean Knight and Clarence Hughes, then immediately nodded and said:

"Of course, that’s fine... Mr. Miller, are you leaving right now? I’ve been so busy lately, I’m afraid I haven’t taken good care of you..."

"There will be time later." Clarence Hughes had calmed down by now but did not regret his decision. After all, there was still Howard Richardson between him and Sean Knight.

Although his relationship with Hassan was not bad, he was still an outsider after all; who knew what the future might hold?

"I’m in a rush this time to handle some school affairs. After all, some of the ’Three Supports and One Assistance’ teachers are leaving, and new ones are coming in. I need to see off those teachers."

The reason was quite sufficient, so Elder Hassan asked another question:

"How will you be leaving? Do you need me to send someone to escort you to the port?"

"No need, Mr. Knight’s airplane will be arriving with people, and I’ll just take the plane back."

"All right, later when we head out, I’ll give you some things. Oh, and regarding the items in the cave storehouse, feel free to take what you like—

Your share has been transferred to Mr. Knight, but since we are old friends, it is thanks to Mr. Knight, and also because you brought Mr. Knight here, that we could find this place.

So, help yourself to anything!"

"Okay, I’ll pick a few items." Clarence Hughes wasn’t shy and really did plan to select a few things to take back.

Weapons were out of the question, and cars were even less so—after all, that would technically be smuggling

But he could still take some personal belongings.

As Hassan was leading the count, Sean Knight and the others drove out a Humvee with a mounted machine gun—loaded with weapons and a big backpack for Clarence Hughes, which contained the items he’d chosen.

Elder Hassan led everyone out of the Cave Storehouse and started setting up a defensive position nearby!

He took Sean Knight’s advice to not transport the goods right away but to hold the ground there first, waiting for the reinforcements Sean Knight had called for.

According to Sean Knight, the first to suffer if the goods were transported back to the tribe would likely be the tribe itself, as well as the convoy on the road.

After all, ’Wealth should not be flaunted.’ Once exposed, other tribes in the area, as well as those second-hand dealers and treasure hunters, would pounce like hungry wolves smelling blood!

Hassan felt that Sean Knight was right and even volunteered to transport some of the items as soon as Sean Knight’s airplane arrived—he intended to barter some of the goods from the tribe’s share of the cave storehouse for other supplies that Sean Knight could bring.

When Sean Knight and his team drove the Humvee to the airport near the base, Bagel’s scouts, who were on lookout, also took note and immediately reported back to Bagel.

"What? A brand-new Humvee? Are you sure you saw that correctly?" Bagel was stunned at that moment.

Humvees were common sights when the Americans had been stationed there, but they had been frequently targeted and the numbers dwindled over time.

Once the Americans left, the few remaining Humvees at the base were quickly taken by the stronger tribes and now belonged to several of the major elders, typically out of sight on any regular day.

Furthermore, those Humvees were all worn, not brand-new. How could this be possible?

Could it be...

His mind immediately went to the cave that Elder Hassan and his group were excavating!

Could there really be Humvees inside?

If that’s the case, the quantity of goods inside the cave must be substantial!

"Keep an eye on that Humvee and see what they’re up to!" Bagel immediately had a new plan in mind—he could no longer be concerned with relations with the Hassan Tribe; he had to take a big bite when they started moving the goods back!

"Right, send more people to watch Mr. Hassan’s men closely. As soon as their supply vehicles come out, report back to me immediately!"

Bagel had made up his mind; he had brought too few men and needed to bring more!

He was planning a shake-up!

While Bagel was explaining the situation to the elders staying behind in the tribe, intending to have them send out all their best forces, Sean Knight and his team also arrived at the airport.

"Boss, this airport... it needs some work!" Looking at some sand and soil accumulated on the runway, Elijah Hastings shook his head and said, "Otherwise, even if Mr. Young flies the plane here, he won’t be able to land."

While driving there, Sean Knight had been using the satellite phone to contact Charles Young.

Charles had already been in Xinjiang, and the large airplane was also there. Xinjiang housed the training center for Sean Knight’s private security company. The veterans recruited had to undergo a period of training before becoming official security guards.

"Tell the batch that has finished training that they’re not going to Big Island or to see the Indians, but instead, are coming directly here. Also, although conditions here are not as good as on Big Island, wages will be increased by fifty percent, with one leave every three months."

Sean Knight informed the training center’s director:

"At least send me 100 people!"

Xinjiang was close to Afghanistan, so the plane could arrive quickly. The main issue was that the paperwork would be a bit of a hassle.

Of course, being a frequent traveler overseas, this wasn’t a problem for Sean Knight—

"Then have Hassan send fifty people over to clean up the airport!" At this point, Sean Knight asked for Hassan’s men without any hesitation, "Then tell Hassan to find a way to apply for the rights to use this base. When my men arrive, they’ll be stationed here in this base!"

With a pre-existing base available, Sean Knight was not about to waste it.

Given that the area was isolated and no tribe was utilizing it, he’d rather have his own people make use of it.

The base was well-built, which was convenient!

When fifty men from the Cave Storehouse came to the airport with tools and weapons, Bagel was immediately aware of it.

He was a bit puzzled by these fifty men’s actions—what was there to clean up at the airport?

But Bagel quickly caught on!

Could it be that a plane was about to arrive?

Had Hassan hooked up with some bigshot?

Bagel’s mind was in turmoil.

To continue with the attack or not?
