Chapter 986: Chapter 541: How about driving a nail here?

As soon as those people appeared, Elder Hassan immediately shouted:

"Put down your tools, grab your guns, and prepare for combat!"

The residents of the tribe immediately snatched up guns and began using various stones and piles of soil as cover, aiming their guns in the direction of the newcomers.

"Elder Hassan, don’t misunderstand! We have no ill intentions!" The newcomers stopped in their tracks as soon as they saw the tribe’s combat formation.

Dozens of people were scattered across the same frontline, each armed with a gun, clearly prepared for trouble.

"Is it young Bagel?" Elder Hassan recognized one of the newcomers, but did not lower the gun in his hand, "What are you doing here?"

"I heard that you found some supplies left by the Americans nearby, and I was afraid you might be short-handed, so I came to lend a hand," said young Bagel with a smile.

"Damn it! There’s a traitor in the tribe!" Hassan cursed under his breath. Last night, he had only informed the small tribal leaders about having important work to do today, asking them to gather and arrange their people and to set off this morning.

Now that young Bagel had arrived, it was clear he had received an insider’s tip!

After returning, he would have to investigate thoroughly!

However, the current situation was not the time to be concerned about the insider. Facing Bagel, he said sternly:

"The rules of the wasteland are clear, whoever finds something keeps it. Moreover, we have enough people in our tribe, and we don’t need help. You should leave!"

Upon hearing this, Bagel’s expression soured slightly, and he said with a feigned smile:

"Mr. Hassan, speaking like that makes people unhappy. The tribes of the wasteland used to be one family. We shared the good and shouldered the difficulties together.

Now everyone’s having a tough time. You’ve got supplies and can live well, so you can’t just stand by and watch our people starve, right?"

"Bagel, say what you want, but we both know what’s really going on! The relations between tribes are no longer what they used to be! When you first seized the base’s items, you didn’t offer to share any with us!

Enough talk, we’re working, don’t disturb us, or don’t blame us for being rude! Today, I have two hundred people here with guns. If you don’t leave, then let me see whether your guys can back up your tough talk!"

Hassan waved his hand and the tribal residents immediately operated the gun machines, chambering bullets, aiming at the distant Bagel.

Although Bagel was reluctant, faced with twice or three times as many armed adversaries, he knew he couldn’t win.

He had come hoping for an easy score without wishing to risk lives, so upon seeing Hassan’s resolve, Bagel backed off. His eyes darting, he said:

"Elder Hassan, since you don’t wish to accept my goodwill, we will leave right now."

After speaking, he motioned with his hand and led his men to retreat and leave.

Elder Hassan and his men watched until Bagel’s group completely disappeared into the wasteland before he signaled for everyone to stand down from combat readiness.

The tribe’s residents cheered at having driven off Bagel’s forces.

In the distance, as Bagel led his men away and heard the cheers of Hassan’s people behind them, someone dissatisfiedly said to Bagel:

"Elder Bagel, why did we back down?"

"Don’t rush. We’re just leaving temporarily. We’ll come back after they’ve dug out the items!"

Elder Hassan shared the same concern and immediately said to the tribal residents:

"Everyone hurry, open up the corridor as fast as you can, and dig out the items inside!"

Though he said this, Hassan still assigned fifty armed men to stand guard while the others began clearing the cave entrance. Elder Hassan took the lead, inviting Sean Knight and his group inside.

This time, Sean Knight did not waste words and led his people, turning three times through the corridors before arriving at the storage for supplies.

The sight of the immense Cave Storehouse filled to the brim with supplies made Elder Hassan’s eyes widen!

Not only were there various kinds of supplies here but also several brand-new vehicles!

The cave storehouse was one large open plan, not separated into compartments.

However, items in the Cave Storehouse were arranged separately, still sorted into weapons, food, tools, vehicles, and more.

The quantity of items was much larger than in the previous cave storehouse, at least three to five times more!

Sean Knight counted, noting six Humvee armored vehicles, six infantry fighting vehicles, twelve military trucks, and even two tanks, though it was unclear whether they were M1A1 or M1A2 models.

Among the weapons, there were both light and heavy arms, including individual missiles, heavy machine guns, anti-aircraft machine guns, and even an anti-aircraft gun!

It was evident that these items had been used a few times, but were still in near mint condition.

Adjacent to the vehicles were buckets of oil supplies, surprisingly abundant!

Rows of supply boxes were arranged in lines, each standing two to three meters high, closely packed, and an impressive sight to behold!

"We’ve struck it rich, we’ve really struck it rich this time!"

Even Elder Hassan lost his composure for a moment.

He was genuinely astounded by how much there was, which exceeded his expectations!

"Elder Hassan, if you want to keep all these supplies in your hands, you need to start preparing now," Sean Knight advised. "If Bagel can come here, so can people from other tribes.

If people from one tribe come, you might not worry, but if they unite against you, you may have more to fret about!"

Hassan immediately regained his composure and said:

"Indeed! Bagel certainly won’t let this go without a fight! Now we must arm ourselves..."
