Chapter 954: 530 Chapter Loyalty That Withstands Tests_2

"Are you here for another treasure hunt this time?" Joanna Davis asked after giving Sean Knight a deep hug and a long, passionate kiss.

The location was in Joanna’s office—and by the way, Sean only called her after arriving in New York, telling her he would come to see her.

It was a surprise, yet it didn’t intrude upon her personal space.

"No, I just missed you and wanted to see you," Sean said, looking into Joanna’s eyes with deep affection.

At that moment, Joanna felt incredibly happy—she knew how busy Sean was.

A young man who, in less than two years, had accumulated wealth surpassing ninety-nine percent of those in Lighthouse Nation was now saying he missed her and came all the way to see her. How could she not feel blessed?

She truly marveled at her own foresight, having pursued Sean when he was down on his luck. Otherwise, once he had risen to success, would she have had a chance?

Although Joanna was the only one in the office, the space had expanded considerably, and several people had been hired for the outer writing room.

Joanna asked Sean to wait a moment, called an assistant over, briefly arranged some work, and then, with one hand pulling Sean and the other holding the roses he had brought, left happily.

In the company, there was no shortage of people secretly enamored with the beautiful and wealthy general manager.

There had been suitors in the past who Joanna had rejected, giving some the impression that there was an opportunity.

However, this time, watching Joanna leave with a face beaming with happiness alongside Sean, everyone understood that their beautiful boss had someone in her heart—an Asian young man!

The pair first went to the villa, where Sean was surprised to find that the dining table in the new villa—where he had always stayed with Joanna, as opposed to the old villa given by Jeremy Knight—already had an array of dishes, along with a note on the dining table in Kathy Lewis’s handwriting:

"Enjoy your meal!"

"Kathy is really thoughtful!" Joanna couldn’t help but exclaim.

"I just called her after getting off the plane," said Sean, equally impressed, "telling her that I’d come to see you first and planned to stay here tonight."

"So, should we have dinner first, or..." Joanna’s eyes were coquettish.

"Let’s start with a little pre-dinner workout!" Sean, feeling the hormonal scent wafting from Joanna, clearly understood her intentions.

So, it was an hour later by the time they started to eat.

Both were flushed and cheerful, a result of their many coordinated encounters.

The two stayed in the villa until the second day. Joanna had to go to work, and Sean returned to Kathy’s place.

"Welcome back, Mr. Knight," Kathy greeted Sean warmly, extending both hands.

Sean stepped forward to hug Kathy and then took out a delicate box from his pocket, saying:

"This time I visited South Asia and saw a beautiful piece of jade Buddha. I bought it because I thought it would suit you. Here, it’s for you."

Kathy was one of the few Americans who liked jade. She took the delicate box, opened it to see the jadeite Buddha and happily accepted the gift.

"I’m here this time hoping to continue dealing with some less valuable properties," Sean mentioned his plan in the study room with Kathy:

"Without citizenship here, I’m bound to be suspected. So, I hope to deal with the less valuable properties while transferring some to your name. That way, at least those people will tread carefully when approaching this matter."

"Do we need to be that cautious?" Kathy didn’t feel the same keen awareness as Sean, "I think it’s fine as it is, no?"

"Listen to me," Sean didn’t heed Kathy’s suggestion this time, "I can feel the changes more clearly than you."

"I’ll listen to you." Kathy didn’t persist, having truly realized Sean’s capabilities over the past two years.

They discussed which properties should be sold, which should remain in Sean’s name, and which should be transferred to Kathy.

"I’m thinking of transferring all the properties around the freight yard to Jason Caldwell’s name, what do you think?" Sean asked Kathy.

"I think, based on our experiences over the past two years, Jason has proven his loyalty. So, even if the properties are transferred under his name, he will continue as before, transferring your earnings to you," Kathy said, trusting her judgment, with which Sean actually agreed.

Once that was settled, Sean went to see Jason.

In the freight yard, a container auction was underway, with Mr. Madden, Diana Smith, and others shouting their bids among the crowd.

Sean did not go over, but after taking a brief glance from a distance, headed to the newly built row of assembly houses at the entrance of the yard.

Little Black at the door still recognized Sean, bowed immediately upon seeing him, and then rushed inside to inform Jason.

When Jason came out, he was visibly excited—now, he no longer carried the casual demeanor of the past. He had become much more confident and easygoing.

But upon seeing Sean, Jason’s excitement and humility were unmistakable:

"Bosuns, when did you get here? Why didn’t you let me know in advance, so I could come to receive you—Freya Perez was just mentioning yesterday that it’s been a long time since you’ve come by, that it’s been a long time since you’ve tasted her cooking."

"Alright then, I’ll have lunch at your place today," Sean said, laughing and patting Jason on the shoulder, "I’ve missed Freya’s cooking too."
