Chapter 922: Chapter 519: Go for it High and Low! _2

After all, that was one billion US dollars!

Just getting it in hand, even half or even a tenth of it, would be enough to transcend class and let you lie flat for a lifetime.

This is an open conspiracy, you know it might be a trap, but you just can’t help wanting to jump in to see what’s really going on.

Although the items in the British Museum are more valuable and those in the Louvre are more artistic, but their security forces are strong too.

Xingya Guanyin Temple is different, located in a remote place where tourists can freely visit.

You’d think the guards wouldn’t be strict, right?

Searching for treasure here would be much easier!

However, news on this matter is hard to find, even if someone went there to search for items and got into a conflict or something, it’s not easy to be reported.

Think about it, even the affair of the Bloody Earth Guanyin was intentionally or unintentionally hidden, let alone current events about that place?

Sean Knight put down the report and walked out of the villa.

He needed to clear his mind.

It felt like something was stuck in his chest, quite stifling.

But Sean knew that until certain things were cleared, this thing was not going to settle down.

The courtyard of the villa must be frequently visited, the vacant land had been planted with vegetables, which were growing nicely.

The plots of seedlings were lush green, looking quite pleasing. Cucumbers had climbed up the trellis and were blooming with little yellow flowers.

Some raspberries were planted by the surrounding wall, now growing leaves and shoots. Strawberries under the tree shade were already showing their red berries, with ants and hornets busily at work there.

Sean walked over leisurely and noticed that some strawberries had been nibbled on, revealing their pink flesh.

He squatted down and rummaged through, finding a few unsightly but ripe strawberries, and popped them into his mouth without washing, chewing them up.

Sweet with a slight tang, the juice tantalized the taste buds, a curious sensation.

Any residual anger and doubt in his heart dissipated with this sweet and sour taste.

Sean stood up, dusted off his hands, and turned back towards the villa.

Why worry so much? Just make a trip there, and won’t everything become clear?

Thinking too much is useless, it only adds to one’s troubles.

Having made up his mind, Sean stopped agonizing and returned to the villa’s basement, putting away all the cultural relics.

What he had previously told Lester Francis wasn’t wrong, with the video Sean had sent to Lester, finding this place wouldn’t be hard.

After all, with Sean as a point of contact, those intent on finding it would definitely think of his hometown first.

So, it is not guarding against the petty thief, but the gentleman—a gentleman would not do such things.

As long as he took all the cultural relics away, even if some tried to come to steal, they would end up running a futile trip in the end.

After taking away the cultural relics, Sean drove the car out from the underground garage and returned to the village.

Sean’s sudden appearance made his family very happy, and he rarely had a peaceful life at home for a while.

Every day he fished and caught shrimp, living quite contentedly.

So, half a month later, when Elijah Hastings and Douglas Cooper came to the village and saw Sean fishing in the reservoir, they were both surprised.

"Boss, you don’t even get tanned under the big sun!" Douglas exclaimed, "If it were us—we’d have turned into charcoal heads by now."

Sean continued to gather the nets in the reservoir unhurriedly, delighted to see fish squirming on the net, and when he heard Douglas talking loudly, he responded laughing,

"That’s because your skin isn’t sun-resistant—but you’ll get used to it."

Elijah whispered to Douglas,

"Boss isn’t like ordinary people, haven’t you noticed? Don’t compare, the more you compare, the more inadequate you feel."

Douglas thought about it and agreed, but with a twinkle in his eye, he said aloud,

"Boss, Captain Hastings is speaking ill of you, he says you’re different from other people!"

Elijah was frustrated,

"What nonsense are you talking? I said the boss is different from ordinary people..."

"I heard what you said is different from other people..." Douglas replied with a cheeky grin.

Sean, still unhurried, said,

"Douglas, I’d like to think you’re joking—of course, I’m not ruling out that you’re trying to stir up trouble between Captain Hastings and me... Don’t forget, one is your boss, the other your leader, you should be prepared..."

"Boss! Captain Hastings, I was wrong!" Douglas said hurriedly, glibly raising his hands in surrender, "I was wrong! Don’t take it hard on me..."

Sean, in his waders, had gathered all three nets and came ashore, chuckling, "Not bad today, caught two big carp and about five or six kilograms of crucian carp—looks like you’re in for a treat. Let’s go home!"

All three returned to the village, Sean selected the fish, and Elijah and Douglas helped pick up the nets.

Actually, old Master Ralph Knight didn’t want them to bother, in his eyes, Sean and others were doing important things.

Mark Knight and his wife thought the same.

But Sean didn’t bother with their opinions, after the three of them tidied up the fish and nets, Sean said to his mother,

"Mom, stew the fish, we’ll have a drink tonight."

Sean and the others seated themselves at a small table inside the courtyard, while Ralph and his people were inside the house.

At the dining table, Sean raised his beer mug to Elijah and Douglas and said,

"You guys worked hard, this one’s for you two!"

"Thanks, boss!"

"It was no trouble!"

Elijah and Douglas clinked their mugs and gulped down the Wusu Beer, wiped their mouths, and set the mugs down.

"Try my mom’s stewed small crucian carp," Sean said, lifting his chopsticks.
