Chapter 919: Chapter 518: Provoking My Rage!_2
"Alright, Boss, what you say goes," the skinny tall man reluctantly complied, subdued by the bald man’s authority, spreading his hands, "Chinese people, I take back what I said, you are Chinese, I get it now."
Sean Knight immediately took a liking to the big man— at least he considered their feelings.
Actually, when Lincoln Harrington had moved just now, Sean was already prepared to act.
"Enough already." The skinny tall man felt humiliated and shouted at the others, "Get up, all of you, this place isn’t safe. Get out of here quickly, or you’re wasting your money. We only ensure your short-term safety around here, so rest up and then roll out soon!"
After saying that, he glanced at Sean Knight and Lincoln Harrington, his eyes still full of provocation.
"Won’t you reconsider? This profession is very lucrative nowadays," the big man told Sean Knight and Lincoln Harrington, still not giving up, "One can take several jobs in a month, work for a year, and then retire!"
"No, thanks!" Sean Knight declined again, "We have our own work."
"Alright then." The big man was regretful, he admired people with backbone.
"Stop waiting around, just pay and leave this place!" the skinny tall man yelled at those people.
All five stood up, one by one they came over, the first one pulled out a stack of money from the pocket and handed it to the skinny tall man.
Each person paid in turn. Sean Knight and Lincoln Harrington exchanged a look, just as Sean was about to pay, Lincoln had already taken out a stack from his backpack and asked:
"How much?"
Lincoln meant well, but Sean knew—trouble!
How could they not know the market conditions?
Sean was just about to use Sky Eye to scan the amount of money in that stack, when the girl next to them had already called out the figure:
"5,000 euros, don’t you know?"
Lincoln handed the stack of money directly to the skinny tall man, not batting an eyelid as he said:
"For both of us—it’s not that we didn’t know, we just wanted to confirm again. After all, we weren’t sure if the figure the snakehead told us matched the actual amount you collect."
That was a pretty good save.
However, the skinny tall man eyed Lincoln’s backpack, then Sean Knight’s, the gleam in his eyes flickering.
"Then we’re leaving," Sean Knight sensed they needed to leave now, otherwise the consequences would be unpredictable.
"Sure, stay safe," the big man said unconcernedly, "It’s mountainous and densely forested here, there’s a lot of wildlife, it’s best to walk along the edge of the forest, it’s easy to get out that way."
Sean Knight thanked the big man, and he and Lincoln Harrington left.
"Boss, their backpacks..." Once the others had all left, the skinny tall man couldn’t help but speak, "Let’s do it!"
"I’m not going, and I’d advise you not to try," the big man shook his head, "That’s tough meat. I reckon we can’t chew through it."
"I’ll take people over there, we can definitely do it!" the skinny tall man urged, "There’s several hundred thousand in that package! Moreover, there’s two of them... just this once, and we wouldn’t have to struggle like this anymore!"
"Whoever wants to go with you can go," the big man shook his head, "I’m not going. I fear I might end up rich in thoughts, but dead in reality!"
"Those who want to get rich, follow me!" The skinny tall man didn’t try to persuade anyone further, he believed he could take care of it with the people he’d lead.
Except for the girl and the big man, the rest stood up.
Watching their departing figures, the big man shook his head and said to the girl:
"Hanna, let’s go, they won’t be coming back."
"Why? Are those two that formidable?" The girl was somewhat puzzled, "They just seemed rather good-looking, not particularly tall..."
"My intuition is never wrong. Ducey and his lot are goners."
Sean Knight and Lincoln Harrington quickly walked through the forest, but unfamiliar with the path, they soon realized they were being pursued.
"Boss, those people..."
"It’s fine. Since they’re asking for it, we’ll find an appropriate place up ahead to lay an ambush,"
Sean Knight turned and saw the skinny tall man and his group, but he did not see the big man or the girl, and felt relieved as he spoke.
With that said, Lincoln Harrington relaxed too.
The two continued ahead and, after about two kilometers, stopped behind a clearing.
They each found good positions and settled in for an ambush.
It wasn’t long before Ducey led his men to the area.
Sean Knight hadn’t expected that these people could actually keep up.
It seemed there must be a tracking expert among them.
When Ducey and his men arrived at the spot, assessing the open ground ahead, he turned and asked a hunched-over middle-aged man:
"James Cooper, are you certain this is where they came?"
"Yes." James Cooper pointed at the somewhat clear footprints and said:
"Two people, by the footprints which are quite distinct, no mistake! They passed here not more than 20 minutes ago!"
"Pursue!" Ducey waved his hand, signaling everyone to follow and then he too moved forward.
Sean Knight aimed his gun at Ducey, watching as he reached the middle of the open area, and pulled the trigger!
"Bang!"
"Bang Bang!"
As Sean Knight fired his gun, Lincoln Harrington also squeezed his trigger.
The bullets immediately took down both Ducey and James Cooper, and the others, quick to act, immediately dropped to the ground.
However, it was an open field, the grass only reached their feet, they could not hide at all, and before they could organize any sort of counterattack, they were turned into sieves by the well-prepared Sean Knight and Lincoln Harrington!
In less than a minute, the gunfire stopped. Far away, the big man, having heard the gunfire, sighed:
"Let’s go, they’re finished."
"Are they really finished?" Hanna still didn’t believe it. Although Ducey had a bit of a temper, he had solid moves and gun skills.
