Chapter 884: 506
Sky Eye looked around once more and truly found nothing!
This was an unexpected boon, facilitating Sean Knight in doing many things he didn’t want others to see.
With nothing else in the room and no permission to leave, Sean browsed his mobile phone.
Fortunately, the signal was good. Sean was just looking at the news and did not chat with anyone.
About half an hour later, Andrew Thompson’s voice suddenly resonated in the room:
"Lunch will soon begin, everyone please come out and line up to wait for the meal."
Sean stepped out the door and saw the others gradually coming out.
A security guard up front was maintaining order:
"Form two lines and follow me, everyone gets one, and everyone’s meal is the same. No rush, no pushing..."
The Dining Hall was next to the Dormitory Area, seats for forty people, equally simple and bright, with meals served from two windows, everyone’s dishes the same.
Sean was last in line, his plate held a slice of bread, a piece of beef, a stalk of broccoli, two grapes, and a bowl of soup.
The portions were small, appearing refreshing, devoid of any seasonings visible in traditional Chinese dishes.
Before Sean could speak, someone already dissatisfied said:
"Are these items boiled in water? Why can’t I see any color of seasoning?"
It was one of the two remaining female students, the one who looked average.
The sweet-looking girl whispered a gentle encouragement:
"Just eat, everyone’s the same. Think of it as a fat-reducing meal."
Although the average-looking girl was still dissatisfied, seeing that everyone else was the same, she didn’t say anything more.
After all, they came to earn money, how many demands could one have?
With his plate in hand, Sean sat on the side and silently ate his food.
His identity was that of a budget traveler, his clothes ordinary, how could he be demanding?
Everyone who had received their food began eating, some leaving leftovers, some licking their plates clean.
Sean felt eyes repeatedly glancing in his direction, but he didn’t care, as he waited for the crucial moment.
After the meal was finished and plates put away, everyone returned to their rooms. Soon after, a knock echoed on the door.
"Next, everyone take your medication. Three times a day, 20 minutes after each meal. If you experience any adverse reactions after taking the medicine, immediately press the emergency button at the entrance to inform us."
The voice was continual, it seemed like they were knocking on each door in sequence to administer the medication.
The two girls shared a room. Upon hearing this, the average-looking girl said to her roommate with a touch of excitement:
"Three times a day, that comes to 300 Euros each time? That’s over 10,000 in fifteen days... We’re really making money this time!"
At the moment, the qualms she had had during mealtime had vanished, her mind filled with thoughts of money!
When it was her turn, she was the first to take the medication, not waiting for Andrew Thompson to finish explaining the precautions, she swallowed the pills immediately.
A hint of contempt flashed in Andrew’s eyes, but it was quickly concealed.
When it came to Sean, he took the pills and tossed them into his mouth, then moved his throat to show he swallowed.
Andrew gestured for him to open his mouth. Sean cooperated and even stuck out his tongue.
These were the standard inspection actions, everyone had to do them.
Seeing no pills in Sean’s mouth, Andrew nodded and said:
"If you feel unwell, let us know immediately. I trust you should be able to get through this trial period successfully."
After speaking, he turned and walked away.
The security guard left a bottle of mineral water in the room.
Sean untwisted the cap and took a sip, then turned back and sat on the bed.
His gaze was directed at the wall, but in reality, he was using Sky Eye to observe the reactions of the two neighboring girls.
After all, if he showed no reaction later on, it would likely raise suspicion.
Indeed, after just a short while, someone in the neighboring room spoke up:
"Why do I feel a bit dizzy?"
"I feel slightly nauseous, but it’s not severe."
"Shall we hit the button?"
"Hold on, let’s try to endure a bit longer. What if they don’t let us test the medicine anymore if we press it?"
"Alright. 300 Euros each time... I really can’t give up this job!"
Sean’s Sky Eye zoomed out to the opposite side.
Across were two women—the expressionless woman who arrived first and the Middle-aged Martin who came later.
Neither spoke, but from their facial expressions, both seemed to be suffering.
It wasn’t long before the first alarm went off.
Immediately, someone came running. Sean opened the door to look and saw Molly Wilson in a white coat with two youths.
"What happened?" Molly entered the room of the young man, about 18 years old, who was now convulsing and foaming at the mouth on the bed.
"Quick, to the Emergency Room!" Molly immediately directed the two youths while taking out a vial, emptied a white tablet, and placed it into the boy’s mouth.
The boy’s reaction scared everyone else.
At that moment, the enticement of earning 300 Euros each time vanished from their minds.
Indeed, with money but no life to spend it, what use was more money?
Not long after, two more alarms sounded.
Clearly, those feeling unwell were no longer holding back and immediately called for help.
This time, one was the average-looking girl; the other was a Middle-aged man who had come later.
Though neither of their reactions were very severe, after Molly took a look, she told them to drink more water and didn’t provide any treatment.
After checking on these two, Molly checked everyone else, for those experiencing dizziness, nausea, rapid breathing, she mostly offered reassurance.
"Such reactions are normal, it’s your body’s stress response to encountering the medication for the first time. After taking it a couple more times, your immune system will get used to it, and it will get better," Molly explained.
Molly’s explanation provided a comforting element, and these individuals were no longer anxious.
When Molly reached Sean’s room, she held his hand and checked, then asked softly:
"How do you feel, any adverse reactions?"
"A little nauseous," replied Sean, "But it’s not severe."
"It seems like your body is very strong," Molly said as she couldn’t help touching Sean’s chest, "I’ll come back to check on you again after you take your medicine tonight."
Her comment actually made Sean somewhat fearful.
Seeing the change in Sean’s expression, Molly smiled suggestively and said:
"Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you feel comfortable..."
