Chapter 847: Chapter 494 There are still good items underground!
Sean Knight stood on the rooftop with the snake in his hand, vigilantly looking down.
Although this pile of snakes was chaotic, their aggression had become stronger.
One careless move and it was possible to get bitten. Sean Knight certainly didn’t want to suffer this unwarranted disaster.
Standing on the rooftop, he loudly reminded Elijah Hastings and Douglas Cooper:
"Be careful, guys. Don’t get bitten by these snakes!"
With hundreds of different snakes here, Sean Knight could definitely confirm that the snake antidote he got wouldn’t possibly neutralize all the venom.
Elijah Hastings and Douglas Cooper were also very cautious, observing from afar in the periphery, avoiding the paths that the snakes retreated through.
All three of them were patient, slowly waiting here.
Perhaps because Sean Knight had that jade-like green snake in his hand, more snakes seemed to slither towards his direction.
Having no choice, Sean Knight could only occasionally toss down a fragmentation grenade or a tear gas to disperse them.
The booming sounds indeed drove away quite a number of snakes.
Douglas Cooper had already joined up with Elijah Hastings in the distance.
"Where did the boss get so many grenades? Could there be some special equipment? Or is it like in the novels with some magical artifact?"
Douglas Cooper speculated.
"Mind your own business and keep that thought to yourself." Elijah Hastings glared at him, "Instead of thinking about that, you’d better focus on how to enter later, find some good items, and help the boss!"
"Don’t worry, I’m keeping my mouth shut!" Douglas Cooper gestured a zip across his mouth:
"I’m only saying it in front of you. I wouldn’t let a word slip to anyone else."
Elijah Hastings didn’t reply; he continued to watch the movement of the snakes.
Douglas Cooper chuckled and remained silent.
The stronger the boss, the more benefits they could gain in the future.
He wasn’t foolish at all.
If one person gains enlightenment, even his pets rise to heaven, and he considered himself a follower of the boss.
He believed that as long as he was honest and dedicated, the boss would definitely not treat him unfairly.
If he let some speculative matters leak out, not to mention gaining the boss’s trust, it would be questionable whether he could even stay.
The affair with the energy had already brought him great benefits; he certainly wasn’t stupid.
The scent of tear gas spread below, causing the snakes that couldn’t withstand stimulation to scatter helplessly.
These thousands of snakes arrived quickly and left just as swiftly.
More than an hour later, aside from some snake meat blasted apart by the grenades and the lingering stench that had not yet dissipated, nothing else proved that numerous snakes had once run rampant here.
Sean Knight felt a bit uneasy. After scanning around with Sky Eye and seeing that there were no more snakes, he jumped down with the green snake and carefully walked inside the Courtyard.
Mainly, he was avoiding those snakes that had been cut or blasted apart.
More than once, he had heard from novels or TV shows that a snake could still bite after being decapitated. Those halves of snakes were still writhing, and no one could say for sure they couldn’t still cause harm.
Arriving in the middle of the Courtyard, Sean Knight saw the giant artifact — Tai Sui, which looked like a lotus pedestal.
The edges of the Tai Sui were still wriggling, as if it were alive.
At that moment, Elijah Hastings and Douglas Cooper also entered the Courtyard, both of them taken aback by the sight.
"We didn’t see this yesterday. How did this thing grow out?" Douglas Cooper went up and touched it, felt it was slimy, and shook his hand in disgust.
"Boss, what’s this?" Elijah Hastings asked.
"Tai Sui," Sean Knight said, walking forward with the green snake. He noticed the snake seemed very interested in the Tai Sui that looked like a millstone, twisting its head and eagerly moving towards it.
"Tai Sui? Does it mean eating it grants immortality?" Douglas Cooper’s eyes widened, "For real?"
"It’s really Tai Sui, but of course, eating it certainly won’t grant immortality." Sean Knight smiled, plucked a small piece of the Tai Sui, which seemed to shrink as if conscious.
Sean Knight scanned it again with Sky Eye and confirmed it was indeed Tai Sui, without a brain or eyes.
Reassured, he placed the small piece of Tai Sui near the green snake’s mouth. The green snake didn’t eat, instead raising its head and staring at Sean Knight.
"Boss, this snake is pretty — and it’s two-headed!" Douglas Cooper leaned in for a closer look and then jumped back, "There really are two-headed snakes!"
"A mutation, I guess," Sean Knight said, "It looked like this when I found it, pretty, so I caught it."
He handed the snake over to Elijah Hastings, who had come over, and then kicked the Tai Sui.
The base of the Tai Sui was darker in color, resembling a wooden post, and felt solid when kicked.
"Boss, are we taking this away?" Douglas Cooper asked, looking at the Tai Sui.
"Take it," Sean Knight replied, "Cut off the soft parts to bring with us, the hard parts are useless now. They’ve aged."
Mainly because it was too big, it wasn’t easy to take outside. The soft, active part alone must weigh at least ten kilograms.
However, what Sean Knight saw at the moment wasn’t the Tai Sui itself, but what was underneath it.
He bent down and shook the Tai Sui, finding it could move, then exerted effort to shift it.
Douglas Cooper immediately came over to help, and together they moved away the Tai Sui, revealing a big cave underneath.
"There’s actually a hole underneath?" Douglas Cooper clearly remembered that when they were here before, there was nothing.
"What else did you think this Tai Sui came from? It grew out!" Sean Knight laughed, "I’ll go down and have a look, you guys tidy up the things here. But it’s time to call over Lincoln Harrington and the others."
