Chapter 812: Chapter 481 An Unexpected Surprise Gift_2
"Of course, the trouble is on our side. As soon as you sign the contract, you just wait to receive the goods."
"Okay, I’ll wait for your news tomorrow," Sean Knight stood up to take his leave.
"We’ve already arranged a place for you to stay," Kyle Mitchell also stood up and said, "We’ll have lunch together at noon, and in the afternoon you can stroll around in the city. I can also send someone to show you around.
However, there’s not much to see in terms of famous sights in our city; it’s mainly the local culture that’s worth a look."
"We’ll just wander around on our own," Sean Knight said, "I haven’t had a good wander through a domestic city in a long time; we’d like to get a feel for the place."
"Sure, suit yourself," Kyle Mitchell escorted Sean Knight out of the building, "Call if you need anything."
A car was provided for Sean Knight’s party, making traveling anywhere convenient.
Sean Knight had the car drop them off at their accommodation, and after a brief rest, he and Elijah Hastings stepped out.
They decided to walk; the car did not follow, just pure wandering.
He truly intended to take a good look at this city.
The city wasn’t large, it had excellent greenery, the air carried the salty taste of the sea breeze, and the roadside was home to stalls with vendors shouting in their dialect.
Every so often, Sean Knight saw young people walking by in groups of twos and threes, seemingly quite frequently.
Was there a high proportion of young people here?
It wasn’t until Sean Knight saw a bus sign with the name of a university that he realized there were two universities in this city.
For a small city to have two universities, one of them being a Project 211 university, was indeed quite surprising.
After all, some provincial capitals in the country, or even some provinces, didn’t have a National Key University, which was really quite baffling.
As he saw two youthful and beautiful figures flash by, Sean Knight suddenly thought of the girl named Xiao Yi who had spoken up for him on the island.
He remembered her name, had taken her address and phone number, originally planning to send her a gift after returning home, but then he got too busy and forgot all about it.
This shouldn’t have happened!
Sean Knight then visited a nearby gift shop.
"Boss, do you offer packaging?"
"Sure, what needs wrapping?" The beautiful girl boss, engrossed in her mobile phone video, didn’t even lift her head as she asked.
"A gift." Sean Knight pulled out a palm-sized piece of red coral from his bag and placed it on the table, "This one, can you make the packaging sturdy, resistant to falls, and safe from bumps?"
The beautiful girl boss raised her head and glanced at it, displaying a look of surprise:
"Red coral ornament? This isn’t something you can just sell casually."
"No problem, we bought this with a certificate," Sean Knight took out a certificate as well.
"Then it’s doable, but it’ll be pricey. If the packaging is good, and it gets knocked around, the loss won’t be small. That piece isn’t cheap, right?"
"Over 10,000, I guess," Sean Knight recalled what was said when he got the certificate.
"Yeah, scarcity does add to the value," the beautiful girl boss said as she deftly searched for materials, "But it does look pretty, just like gemstones."
Sean Knight didn’t engage in conversation; he just watched her secure and wrap the package.
Once it was wrapped, Sean Knight paid and then asked,
"Boss, where’s the nearest post office?"
"Go out, turn right, and cross two roads," was the reply.
"Thank you!"
Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings turned right as they left the shop.
"Boss, are you mailing something?" Elijah Hastings, seeing Sean Knight ask about the post office, inquired.
"Yeah. Remember the girl we met at the seaside before we encountered Lucas Tan Surlang, when I bought the red coral?"
"I remember. I think her name was Xiao Yi. She kindly warned you and then got made fun of by her friends."
"Right, I’m planning to send this to her," Sean Knight arrived at the entrance of the post office and said, "Consider it a reward for her."
Elijah Hastings pictured Xiao Yi’s innocent face in his mind and then thought about Sean Knight’s several ’fair-weather friends’ and secretly wondered whether the boss was changing his tastes again?
In the post office, Sean Knight asked for a packing box and after inspecting it, he placed the item inside and filled out the information.
However, when Elijah Hastings saw that Sean Knight didn’t write a home address or the address of the Capital City’s quadrangle courtyard in the sender’s address section, but instead the address where they were staying in this city, he realized he had misunderstood Sean Knight.
Probably the reason for mailing the item from this post office was that it seemed safer in his memory.
After mailing it, Sean Knight left the building as if he had completed a mission, clapping his hands and walking out.
The two strolled until they were tired before heading back.
The next day, Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings were taken by Kyle Mitchell to a military shooting range outside the city.
"This is a battalion-level unit’s shooting range. There’s no shooting mission today, so it’s a good opportunity to try out all the weapons you need," Kyle Mitchell said.
Kyle Mitchell was especially polite to Sean Knight, particularly after going through Sean Knight’s information thoroughly again last night, he felt that someone like Sean Knight was definitely worth treating well.
"Let’s try the mortar first," Kyle Mitchell remembered that Sean Knight was quite interested in mortars from yesterday, "This is usually used by a squad. But if you really don’t have enough people, it can be operated by one person. We call it Simple Shooting."
While talking, they arrived at the mortar shooting positions and first observed a mortar squad performing the shooting.
"Over there is the observation post, with someone specifically observing the target and impact points, and calculating deviations," Kyle Mitchell explained, "This side is for the shooting team..."
Sean Knight watched with interest but soon realized that his side wouldn’t be able to fully utilize it.
Not to mention the calculations, the division into teams for operations wasn’t always feasible under certain conditions.
