Chapter 797: Chapter 476: This decision is quite unexpected! Not a small loss! _2

Just then, Sean Knight also looked at her, noticing her gaze. He nodded to indicate that she didn’t need to worry.

After dinner, the others returned to the hotel while Howard Richardson took Sean and Elijah Hastings to accompany Monica Reed to meet her aunt, Amy Reed.

At this point, Amy had already returned from the hospital, and they went to her home.

Amy’s home was located in a small alley, in a rather remote and dark location.

"Their home isn’t very big, but it’s suitable for three people to live in." Howard obviously knew about Amy’s family situation and said while walking, "The older child is in high school, and because of their family situation, they don’t live on campus, so it’s a bit crowded."

Upon hearing this, Sean guessed what was going on.

They walked into the alley, went up the stairs, and arrived at the door, but instead of knocking, Howard made a phone call first.

"Ms. Reed, this is Howard Richardson, the one who contacted you earlier. I’ve brought Monica to see you, would you like to meet her?

Yes, yes, we’re just outside your door."

After hanging up the phone, Howard said, "She’ll be out in a moment."

As soon as he finished speaking, the door opened.

The door was pushed open, and Sean and the others saw Amy Reed.

A woman in her forties, looking worn out and already having a few strands of white hair.

However, they could still see the resemblance between her and Monica.

As soon as Amy opened the door, her gaze swept the room and then fixed on Monica.

Immediately, she rushed forward and hugged Monica tightly:

"Monica, you’ve suffered so! I’ve finally met you..."

And she broke down in pain.

Sean, Howard, and Elijah were all a bit embarrassed.

Monica seemed to feel the blood bond and started crying as well.

After crying for a while, Amy finally came to her senses, let go of Monica, and held her hand. She wiped away her tears, smiled through her grief, and said to Howard:

"Mr. Richardson, I’m so embarrassed. I’ve been looking for my brother’s news all these years and never expected... to see Monica, I’m just so excited..."

Sean could tell that Amy was genuinely overcome with emotion and that her feelings were real.

"Come on, let’s go inside and talk. Come in, come in." Amy invited them into the house.

The house was small, about four to five hundred square feet, with two rooms. It was relatively clean, and a strong smell of medicine came from the kitchen.

"Were you the ones who saved Monica?" Amy had regained her composure, but she still held Monica’s hand, as if afraid she would disappear again.

She was speaking to Sean and the others this time.

"Yes," Sean nodded. "We just happened to be near where Monica was when we were handling some matters. She helped us, and we didn’t expect her to be a descendant of the Chinese people."

Sean didn’t recount the whole story, as it was enough that Monica knew, and he wasn’t prone to bragging about his accomplishments.

"Thank you, thank you so much," Amy cried again, "My poor brother and sister-in-law!"

Howard quickly comforted her:

"Now that Monica is back, we should be happy."

"Yes, yes! We should be happy!" Amy wiped her tears away, "I’ll cook for you all. You haven’t had dinner yet, right? I’ll cook right now... Oh, let me give you some water first, I apologize for my forgetfulness..."

"No need, no need." Sean waved his hand, "We have some matters to attend to. We mainly came to confirm if Monica is indeed your niece..."

"Yes, of course! She looks so much like my brother, and like me when I was young. No need to prove it, I’m sure it’s her!" Amy said confidently.

"In that case, we won’t bother you anymore." Sean stood up, "You and Monica should have a good chat. Since we weren’t sure, we haven’t brought Monica’s belongings over yet.

Some things may need to be redone. For now, we’ll leave you two to catch up. We’ll come back before evening to take Monica to the hotel."

Sean’s idea was straightforward: if Monica stays here, it might put a greater burden on the family.

Of course, if Monica wants to stay here, Sean would respect her decision.

And if she doesn’t, then he can offer her a chance on the Big Island.

Although Sean wasn’t the Holy Mother, Monica’s scream back then made him feel that she was worthy of his help.

And besides, giving her a job opportunity on the island would be a win-win solution, benefiting both parties with minimal effort.

After Sean and the others left, Amy and Monica chatted in the house.

Mainly, Amy asked questions while Monica answered.

On Sean’s end, when they returned to the hotel and saw that everyone else hadn’t gone out, he said to Douglas Cooper:

"Douglas, take Miss Christina Blackwood to buy some necessities. We’ll be heading to the Big Island in a couple of days, and there are fewer choices there, so it’s better to pick up what we need here."

Douglas immediately looked excitedly at Christina.

Christina had no objections and went with him.

"Boss, you’re creating opportunities for Douglas," Elijah laughed. "Douglas must be thrilled."

"These kind of things, we should help out a bit. But that’s about it, the rest is up to him," Sean sighed. "Douglas seems unlucky in this aspect, but I hope this time will be different."

He suddenly remembered and asked:

"By the way, I didn’t see Luna Turner on the crew this time, where is she?"

Elijah replied:

"I asked Charles Young. Luna quit a few days ago. It seems that she was contacted by a boss she was familiar with. Then she left..."
