Chapter 771: Chapter 467: Don’t solve the trouble, solve the person who creates the trouble!
In the living area of Big Island, Lincoln Harrington placed a bowl of food in front of Lucas Tan Surlang, whose hands were cuffed together.
"Eat."
Lucas Tan Surlang gave Lincoln Harrington a bitter smile and asked:
"Do you have any chopsticks or a spoon?"
"No," Lincoln said. "You’re too dangerous, if I give you those things, I’m afraid you might do something beyond reason."
Lucas was unsure whether to take pride or feel depressed at that remark.
However, he didn’t dwell on it, as the young man before him had already given him a hard time.
No matter how eloquent he was, Lincoln remained unmoved, not giving him even the slightest chance to escape.
Lucas had thought that after Sean Knight and the others left, their vigilance over him would surely relax. After all, dealing with one person was better than dealing with several.
Moreover, it seemed like Sean Knight had the ability to see through people. Whenever Lucas tried to say something, as long as it wasn’t true, there was a risk of being exposed.
However, now he encountered a tight-lipped, stubborn individual. This was even more troublesome.
He knew that when Sean and the others returned from Kyushu, his time might be up.
After all, he had told some lies.
At first, he thought that they might get trapped over there.
But over the past few days, the more he thought about it, the more he realized that with their strength, Sean and the others might actually return safely.
Under their current custody, would they let him go then?
It seemed unlikely!
After watching Lucas finish eating, Lincoln handed him a wet wipe to clean his hands. After that, he collected the wet wipe and took the bowl before leaving the room.
"Do you have any water?" Lucas asked, looking at Lincoln’s retreating figure.
"In a moment." Lincoln went out, fetched a bowl of water and handed it to Lucas.
Lucas drank the water, wiped his mouth, and then handed the bowl to Lincoln.
Lincoln gave him a glance, then turned and left.
As Lincoln closed and locked the door behind him, Lucas heard his footsteps receding. He then dropped his bitter smile and looked down at the few grains of rice in his hands.
Each day, he gathered a few grains of rice, a piece of hard noodle, and a small, sharp porcelain piece.
These were his gains for the past two days, and he had to figure out how to use these items.
At this moment, a faint alarm rang outside.
Lucas’s spirits lifted; although he knew it was not meant to save him, there must be an opportunity!
As Lincoln exited the villa, he spotted strangers near the house where Sean and the others stayed and immediately drew his gun to confront them.
The alarm had come from that direction, and Lincoln had installed a connection to the alarm system in his room after Sean had left.
The purpose was to ensure a prompt response if something happened.
As Lincoln rushed over, several security guards had already started exchanging fire with two unfamiliar backpackers.
The two backpackers were leaning against the villa where Sean was staying, holding folding submachine guns. With their fierce firepower, the security guards hesitated to attack, and the situation had become a standoff.
When Lincoln arrived, he immediately found a suitable position, lay down and aimed at one of the gunmen.
At that time, another backpacker appeared at Lincoln’s villa.
Twisting his head to view the ongoing firefight, he sneered and quickly charged into the villa.
This person wore a hood, carried a backpack and held an MP5 in his hand. He looked around each room cautiously, even searching the study. Upon opening the computer, he glanced through it and, disappointed, threw the mouse aside, before continuing his search.
Finally, he found Lucas, who was handcuffed in the basement.
"HELP ME!" Lucas saw the white youth and immediately raised his hands, shouting loudly.
At first, the young man didn’t care about Lucas. However, he later heard Lucas say:
"I was kidnapped by them. I have money and antiques! They threatened me... save me, and I’ll pay you when I’m out!"
Upon hearing this, the young man hesitated for a moment, then pulled Lucas up from the ground.
Lucas’s hands and feet were both cuffed. Although the young man had quite an amount of strength, he still couldn’t break the cuffs.
"Can you find me a piece of wire or a hairpin or something?"
Realizing what Lucas meant, the young man took a folding utility knife from his backpack and handed it over.
Lucas thanked him, took the knife, and opened a thin iron rod inside it. He then skillfully inserted it into the lock of his handcuffs.
In no time, the handcuffs were open, and Lucas moved on to prying open his leg shackles.
"What do you do?" The young man suddenly pointed a gun at Lucas’s head.
"I’m a collector!" Lucas blurted out, "I collect Chinese cultural relics. I was originally doing business here, but I got kidnapped after coming here..."
"Do you know about the plane crash that happened a while ago? Who’s the master here? Who salvaged Hays Gruss’s body at that time?"
The young man’s questions caught Lucas off guard. After hesitating briefly, he continued prying open his leg shackles while responding:
"Who’s Hays Gruss? I did hear about a plane crash that happened here recently. The master of this island led some people to salvage the bodies, but he’s not here now..."
"Where did he go?" The young man pressed the gun against Lucas’s forehead and demanded in a stern voice:
