Chapter 759: Chapter 463: The Family Temple is Indeed not Simple!

The car slowly moved from the city towards the suburb, where the view on both sides went from skyscrapers to street-facing single-story houses, and finally to the undulating wheat fields.

Looking at such a scene, Sean Knight was reminded of the view beside the roads in his hometown when he was a child, which seemed somewhat similar.

If it weren’t for a certain period of history engraved in their hearts, looking at the people working in the fields, there was really no much difference from his hometown.

Similar attire, the same skin color and hair, how could these people be so heartless?

It seemed that since the Sui and Tang Dynasty, these people had been harbouring an indescribable purpose, while probing into their own homeland in various ways.

When China was strong, they appeared so humble on the surface, learning all sorts of etiquette from China, and even more so with deeper intentions.

When China fell ill, they would immediately reveal their sharp claws and fangs, attacking to tear apart and swallow this enormous country they once regarded as their homeland.

The car was driving through the mountains, and Vicky Wilson, oblivious to Sean’s emotional shift, continued to drive and speak:

"Looking at the scenery on both sides, it’s really refreshing.

When I chose to stay, it was after experiencing a similar journey.

The people here are very kind, and the scenery is also beautiful, and of course, what attracts me more is that the treatment here is much better than domestic."

On hearing her words, Sean and Elijah Hastings both curled their lips, but did not respond.

Vicky Wilson was talkative, though Sean and Elijah were not much for small talk, she was happy to share her own journey.

From going to university to meeting her Japanese boyfriend to deciding to settle down here, including her current part-time job to earn money, she shared her story bit by bit.

By the time Vicky had finished telling her story, the car had arrived at a small town.

The small town was not big, totaling almost two hundred households, and the tallest building in town was only three floors. It doesn’t look much different from a regular small town in China.

Vicky parked the car at the entrance of a two-story restaurant, while unbuckling her seatbelt, she said:

"Let’s have lunch here. The noodles here are quite good, tasting no worse than Weykey Ramen, and it’s also cheaper."

After the three of them got out of the car, Sean curiously looked around the town and the people in town.

Noticing Sean’s interest, Vicky said:

"Don’t underestimate it because this place isn’t as developed, but the people in the town are very simple and polite. Here, you hardly have to worry about disputes or being bullied. Basically, there wont be any discrimination."

There were not many people in the town, and they were all curious about visitors.

An Akita dog slowly walked over from a distance, curiously sniffing at the tires of Vicky’s car, then raised its hind leg against the tire, urinated, and lazily left after finishing.

The entire process did not even glance at the three of them, as if they did not exist at all.

"Is this also considered a friendly demonstration?" asked Elijah jokingly.

Vicky said somewhat awkwardly:

"This is probably a stray dog. It gets along well with the people in town. It considers this place as its own territory, so that’s why it behaves like this."

The three of them entered the restaurant and took a seat by the window.

A young girl wearing a headscarf and an apron came to pour water for them.

Vicky spoke a few words with her in Japanese, and the girl seemed surprised and curious gave Sean and Elijah a glance, then nodded, picked up the teapot and left.

There weren’t many guests in the restaurant, and everyone spoke in a quiet voice, making it seem very peaceful.

Vicky was satisfied with this environment, as it fitted the description she gave to Sean.

"I remember the record stating that Japan has a population of over 100 million? The area here is not large, and it should be crowded. Why does it seem like there are so few people here?" Elijah asked out of curiosity.

"Young people have all gone to work in the cities. They feel that staying in the countryside has no future.

And Japan itself has a serious aging problem that is much more severe than China’s. The proportion of the population is mostly elderly people.

At this time, the elderly people are either at home or in the fields. There are not many here.

Most of the elderly live a simple life where they will avoid unnecessary expenditures."

That explanation makes sense.

While they were talking, a waiter was carrying a tray with three bowls of noodles from the kitchen.

But just as he was about to reach their table, a commotion came from the entrance.

Sean turned his head to look and saw four to five boys around sixteen or seventeen years old, coming in while laughing and joking.

The two boys at the front didn’t even notice the waiter carrying the bowls and were joking around and waving their arms with the boys behind.

And the people behind were counterattacking, causing the two of them to quickly dodge. That leap led them right into the waiter carrying the bowls.

Caught off guard, the tray in the waiter’s hands was knocked out directly. As they watched the three bowls of noodles about to smash onto the table, Sean and Elijah both reached out.

To Vicky’s utter shock, one of them grabbed the tray and stabilized the two bowls of noodles on it, while the other caught the flying bowl of noodles.

Vicky, slow to react, supported the waiter, and after confirming that the waiter was unharmed, they turned their heads to look at the boys.

They had initially thought that the boy who bumped into someone would apologize, but to everyone’s surprise, not only did the boy that hit someone have no intention of apologizing, but also reprimanded the waiter loudly.
