Chapter 695: Chapter 441: The Bottom of the Temple

After eating, Sean Knight took out three small terracotta figurines from his backpack and handed them to the others, saying:

"Come on, absorb some energy. Now that Lincoln Harrington has found it, what awaits us next might be a tough battle. We need to be in top shape!"

Nobody acted pretentious and accepted the figurines.

Lincoln Harrington sincerely said to Sean Knight:

"Boss, thank you!"

Then he turned to Elijah Hastings and Douglas Cooper and said:

"Thank you, guys!"

In fact, everyone has been silent, but Lincoln knew well.

If Sean and the others didn’t enter the subterranean river to find him, the chances he could survive were slim.

Sean had every reason to take Elijah and the others to search for the treasure instead.

Finding the entrance to the underground river along this journey must not have been an easy task!

He didn’t say much, but remembered it in his heart.

"Stop it!" Douglas Cooper slapped him, "From now on, our lives belong to the boss. He doesn’t like the superficial stuff either, right?"

Lincoln lowered his head, stopped talking, and quickly absorbed the energy.

Sean took out a figurine and began absorbing the energy himself.

Half an hour later, all four of them stopped.

"Let’s go. Let’s move forward and earn some interest." Sean collected the figurines and said, "There’s an impact zone ahead. There should be something beneath."

The three followed Sean forward. This was where the nail rope was set.

"I salvaged two gold coins from the river earlier," Sean said to Lincoln, "so I guess the upstream of the underground river must be related to the treasure. Or at least, there should be some treasure along the upstream."

"I’ll go down!" At this moment, Douglas was the most enthusiastic.

Lincoln was fine, and he was also delighted.

"The pit should be deep, but your swimming skills shouldn’t be a problem. Be careful. There should be some good stuff down there."

Douglas took off his clothes, leaving only a pair of shorts, and then put on the waterproof glasses that Sean handed him and jumped into the water.

The water was murky, and through the waterproof glasses, he could barely see the objects in front of him.

After diving underwater, Douglas began exploring with his hands.

Is this a sword?

This must be a gold coin.

Is this... a set of armor? What is it doing underwater?

Douglas came down only to explore, not bringing a bag or net pocket with him.

As he continued exploring, his hands were soon full, and he had to resurface.

"There’s so much stuff underwater!" Douglas came out of the water and threw the items on the ground, "I don’t know where all this stuff comes from!"

"Gold coins, this sword... it’s quite exquisite. The scabbard has gemstones inlaid in it. This armor should have silver in it..."

Sean looked over each item and said:

"These items should be from hundreds to thousands of years ago and worth quite a bit of money."

"I’ll go down again!" This time, Douglas took out a net pocket from his backpack and turned to jump back into the water.

By the time he emerged, he was loaded with loot.

There was a wide variety of things, including two candlesticks that he had found in the river earlier, although they were now heavily corroded. There was a golden mask as well, but it had been badly deformed by the water current.

There were quite a few gold coins with human figures on them and an irregular circular shape.

There were also some weapons, such as hand axes and nail hammers.

However, other than the gold and silver items, the copper and iron items were mostly severely corroded.

Later, when Elijah went down into the water, he only picked up gold coins.

Eventually, they salvaged over 100 gold coins and 11 items of considerable value.

"Alright, these things are worth several hundred thousand. The main problem is the severe corrosion in the water pit, otherwise, their value could increase tenfold."

Sean concluded in the end.

There were still some things left in the water pit, but there was no need to go back down.

The four continued to move forward, and after a few hours, they reached the place where Sean and his group had fallen.

"We’re not going back up, are we?" Looking upwards, Sean saw the daylight was already bright.

"No, let’s keep going!" Excited by the loot, Douglas said, "Keep moving forward, and we might find more stuff without much effort!"

"Bang, bang, bang!"

Suddenly, muffled gunshots came from the cave above.

The gunfire continued intermittently, and occasionally people shouted.

"This is..." Lincoln understood that there were more than just one group of people outside mentioned by Sean and the others.

"A fight has broken out."

"Then let’s get going!" Sean smiled, "Let them fight, too bad we can’t watch."

The four people continued to move forward.

The river was getting narrower, and the water depth was maintained at around 30 centimeters.

The further they went, the more items they encountered.

This time, even Douglas found two gold coins.

"This treasure... there’s so much of it!"

Although the loot was significant, the situation seemed rather strange.

"Let’s take a break here," Sean suggested.

He had found the most items all the way, not only gold and silver coins but also golden masks, gemstone rings, and such.

This made Sean think that they should be getting closer to the legendary treasure.

"Have some food and prepare well! Next, we may have a tough battle to fight!"

The rescue of Lincoln had further increased Sean’s prestige among the group, so when he gave the order, the others immediately followed, putting their backpacks down and preparing to eat.

"Boss, do you think we’ll run into those people above if we find the treasure later?"
