Chapter 662: Chapter 427: Such a Great Opportunity is Rare!
Perhaps because her life was getting better, Freya appeared much healthier and more attractive than before.
In the past, Sean Knight didn’t think black girls were aesthetically pleasing to him.
But after watching some Hollywood movies, he found that some of them were actually quite nice.
Freya now seemed just as good as those Hollywood actresses, and even had a better temperament - that girl-next-door vibe.
"Hello, Mr. Knight!" Seeing Sean get out of the car, Freya shyly greeted him, nodded at Douglas Cooper, and then hurried back into the kitchen.
Like a timid deer.
"Boss," Douglas felt hurt. "I’m not bad-looking either, why am I treated so differently?"
"We’ve known each other longer." Sean simply let it be with a smile.
Once inside the room, Jason called his two younger brothers to say hello to Sean.
Sean still remembered these two black boys, who were a little taller now but still a bit shy in front of him. After greeting him, they went to the back.
"I originally planned to let them continue their studies, but they couldn’t focus on school, so I thought I’d let them help out at the Freight Yard."
"That’s fine." Sean didn’t mind, after all, Jason’s younger brothers were not that young anymore. If they hadn’t developed the habit of studying when they were younger, letting them enter school now might not guarantee that they’d learn anything.
"Do you have a girlfriend yet?" Sitting on the sofa, Sean asked with a smile, "Now you’ve entered the middle class, with a monthly income higher than most locals, it’s time to settle down, right?"
"Not yet." Jason shook his head shyly and said, "I’m looking for someone from our hometown, but I haven’t found a suitable one yet."
Sean sensed that there was more to Jason’s words, but he didn’t pry. Instead, they discussed the Freight Yard Container Auction.
"Most people who participated in the Container Auction stayed for a while before leaving. Not everyone had good luck and could make a huge profit. Many went to open warehouses instead, where the investment is lower and the risks are smaller."
Now having a deeper understanding of this line of business, Jason continued:
"So, I’m planning to see if I can get into that in the future. Many people livestream on YouTube while opening containers, so they can have a double income, which is also quite good."
As they chatted, Freya came in and whispered:
"Dinner’s ready."
The group stood up and headed to the dining hall.
Looking at the dishes on the table, Sean wondered if he had returned to China!
"Big Plate Chicken, spicy sheep’s foot, potato stewed beef, shredded potatoes..."
Looking at these dishes, Douglas couldn’t help saying:
"Some chefs in China might not even be able to make these!"
"Come on, sit down and eat."
With the food ready, everyone sat down without hesitation and began to eat.
The table at Jason’s home was large, and the portion sizes were generous. After taking a few bites, Sean praised:
"The taste is really good, even better than some restaurants!"
Freya’s eyes sparkled with joy upon hearing this.
After dinner, Sean took a few small gold ingots from his backpack and gave one to Freya and one to each of Jason’s younger brothers.
"These are gifts for you," Sean said with a smile. "Keep them for fun, but be careful since they’re pretty valuable. Don’t lose them."
After sitting for a while, Sean left with Douglas.
Freya stood at the entrance, watching Sean’s car drive away.
Jason spoke next to her:
"He...doesn’t belong here. You need to reconsider."
Freya stubbornly shook her head and walked back into the courtyard.
Jason sighed, watching Sean’s car disappear into the distance, not knowing what to do about this situation.
Sean took Douglas to meet Kathy Lewis.
"Mr. Knight, if you’re free lately, I suggest you go visit the farmhouses. Those directors haven’t seen you in a long time and keep asking me if the farmhouses have changed owners."
"Alright."
Sean thought it was a good idea to visit all the farmhouses he had purchased but not yet sold while waiting for his flight.
One day, while hunting on the slopes of a farmhouse, Sean received a call from Robert.
"Sean, I have something to tell you. There’s a private auction happening in New York soon. There’ll be some Chinese antiques being auctioned there. Do you want to participate?"
Sean was curious and asked:
"Are there any specifics on what antiques are being presented?"
"I heard there are porcelain, bronze ware, and paintings."
"What kind of bronze ware?" Upon hearing about the bronze ware, Sean’s interest heightened. "Do you know?"
"I think it’s something like a tiger eating a person from your Chinese culture... I don’t know much about that."
"Tiger Eating Human Zun... Could it be?" Sean shot up in the car, but then quickly realized he was hitting his head on the roof.
"I’m not sure, but there’s a list. If you participate, I can get that list for you... Oh, you can also put some of your collected antique precious metals up for auction. There’ll be more than ten people participating, and some may be interested in your items.
If you want to choose, select items worth at least ten million."
Sean thought about the items in his spatial realm, and there were quite a few worth more than ten million!
