Chapter 642: Chapter 417: Salvaged a "Treasure" for Cash

After having a full meal, Sean Knight moved around a bit on the deck. He scanned the surroundings and, seeing no other ships approaching, put on his diving suit and re-entered the sea.

This time he planned to explore a wider range.

Sean was not unfamiliar with the underwater environment. Once he entered, he swam in the direction he had designated.

There was a multitude of fish species big and small in the water, an abundance of marine resources.

However, this time Sean didn’t pay any attention to these, he swam further out.

There were many reefs below, ranging in size. Sean’s Sky Eye scanned each, but found these were all genuine reefs with no sunken ships.

Sean wasn’t in a hurry. He moved in circles, expanding the search area with each round. When he estimated that his oxygen supply wouldn’t last much longer, he decided to return to the yacht after finishing the current round.

Just then, a large fish swam past him from above.

Sean looked up. Initially, he didn’t plan to pay much attention but suddenly he became fixated on the fish.

The fish wasn’t small, measuring more than two meters. Its sleek form swayed as it swam along, seemingly very carefree.

What got Sean’s attention was that the fish resembled an Arrow Fish, but it didn’t move as fast. It showed no intention of chasing after schools of fish that swam nearby, it just moved along leisurely.

Now that was interesting.

Looking through the Sky Eye, Sean laughed.

The outward appearance of this ’fish’ was all that was fish-like. Inside it was filled with instruments, electronic components, and a battery.

It was a Bionic Fish!

Looking at the English letters on the internal instruments, Sean didn’t believe for a second this was something locally operated.

He recalled the joke about "useless sonar with no copper" and understood.

This bionic fish was probably a bionic underwater vessel or a data collecting bionic robot released by some country!

Well, if it was in front of him, he wouldn’t let it escape!

Sean immediately swam up to it and started chasing the ’fish’.

Fortunately, the ’fish’ didn’t swim fast. Sean quickly reached it and absorbed into his spatial realm.

He heard that handing over this thing could earn him a bonus.

Sean had no intention of turning it in, but being able to collect this sort of object was considered a gain in itself.

His oxygen supply wasn’t enough to continue. Sean returned to the yacht.

On the yacht, he placed the bionic fish on the deck and the fish immediately began to flap around.

However, without water, it could only twist and turn, unable to advance.

Sean noticed the fish’s eyes lighting up and dimming. He didn’t know whether it was sending out a signal or if it was indicating electrical issues. Not wanting it to expose for too long, he quickly put it back into his spatial realm.

With this acquisition, Sean was exhilarated. He felt that he still had enough energy and started the yacht, traveling to a new sea area. He put on his diving suit again, replaced the oxygen canister, and dove back into the water.

This time, he opened Sky Eye underwater and conducted a more meticulous search than his previous scan for sunken ships. He didn’t leave any suspicious place behind.

Unfortunately, in this area, aside from a deteriorated shipwreck worth nothing, Sean found nothing else.

The excitement Sean felt halved.

Thinking about it, he realized it was normal. If these finds were easy to discover, then the number of fishermen honored annually would be in the hundreds, maybe even thousands, not just a dozen or so.

Regaining his composure, Sean drove the yacht to another area—the vicinity where David Hawking had anchored previously, but in a different direction.

Sean guessed since David had given Elijah Hastings some information, it was unlikely to be fabricated.

After fleeing and stopping here, it was likely that there was something in this area.

At the moment, Sean didn’t have anything else to do aside from making the occasional call home, sharing his longing for Joanna Davis, asking Lana Brown about her travel progress, etc. Occasionally, Cheryl Suweton would also call to ask Sean what he was doing.

Cheryl had already revealed her identity, basically unable to go treasure hunting anymore, so she could only do the things a "Princess" should do.

So she was indeed very envious of Sean still being able to treasure hunt.

So from time to time, Cheryl would video call Sean to check on his activity at sea.

However, Sean hadn’t found anything in the location for two consecutive days, which gave Cheryl a good reason to tease him on video calls.

Sean was unbothered. He was calm and understood that not finding anything in treasure hunting for one or two days, one or two months, or even one or two years was normal.

One day, just as he emerged from the sea, he heard the sound of a motorboat from the distance.

Then he saw a large marine police boat coming over.

Sean immediately climbed up onto the deck and waited for the arrival of the marine patrol ship.

The marine police boat stopped at some distance, then sent a small boat over.

As the boat approached the yacht, the staff onboard shouted in both English and Chinese, asking Sean to accept the inspection.

"I am Chinese," Sean realized at once. His prolonged presence here must have been reported by passersby, hence the arrival of the marine police.

While he found it somewhat amusing, he also found it normal.

All sorts of foreign boats frequently ignored international law and came here; it was normal for the local fishermen to be vigilant.

"A countryman?" The staff relaxed instantly, "What are you doing here?"
