Chapter 534: Chapter 364: Calculation or Calculation
"Ahhh!"
With a scream of agony, Danny trembled as arcs of lightning flashed around him. His head smoked, foam spilled from his mouth, and his eyes rolled back, clearly being electrocuted!
The others at first panicked but they quickly recovered. One of them, who seemed to have some experience with such matters, promptly grabbed a stick-like object from a nearby shelf and hit Danny’s arm with it!
Danny’s arm instantly broke!
However, it also separated him from the safe!
High voltage!
This sudden incident frightened the rest of the group!
Danny continued to convulse. But for a moment, no one dared to check on him.
When they finally regained their composure and checked on Danny, they found that he had stopped breathing!
"FUCK!" The leader cursed in outrage, "Shit! How could this happen!"
"Boss, we’ve got to move fast!" Another man glanced at his watch and advised, "The local police will be here soon, so what should we do now?"
The leader was reluctant to just leave like this. He pointed to the safe:
"Find the power cord and cut it off! We are going to cut the safe open!"
The safe was too large, if it was filled with gold, there was no way to move it.
But leaving without doing anything was even more unbearable. So the best solution was to cut off the source of danger, then cut open the safe, and take what was inside!
The leader believed that even if there wasn’t any gold inside, there would definitely be other valuable items!
One of his men immediately brought a portable cutting machine, while two others had already located the electrical cord connecting the safe and cut it off.
As the cutting machine carved through the safe, a shrill noise filled the air.
"You guys keep cutting, I’ll go up and have a look." The leader, a tad uneasy, turned around and headed upstairs. He had a bad feeling about the absence of people in the house.
The leader went upstairs with his gun and inspected the rooms, finding no one around.
He assumed the people inside had gotten the message and decided not to barge in or shoot into the rooms.
At this point, Kathy Lewis had been watching the leader’s actions via hidden cameras.
She was a bit worried when she thought the man was about to leave.
After watching for a while, she realized he was going back inside, which made her sigh with relief.
The leader contacted his man outside the house through an earpiece, and was reassured that all was clear, which relieved him somewhat.
However, to his surprise, police cars arrived shortly after the call ended.
This time, the police were smarter. They didn’t use their sirens, and as soon as they spotted the suspicious SUV, they surrounded the car, smashed the windows, and immobilized the robber inside with a swift, decisive attack.
After suppressing the gang member outside, a squad of policemen immediately entered the villa and quickly made their way toward the basement.
Stun grenades and flashbangs were used to deal with the situation quickly.
After the gang members had been handcuffed, their leader was still puzzled as to why the outside man, whom he had personally assigned, had not reported back.
Of course, the swift action of the police was also largely owed to the money Sean Knight had donated to the police station.
After the police left, Kathy Lewis reported the incident to Sean Knight over the phone.
"Are you all alright?" The first question Sean Knight asked was about the safety of Kathy and the others.
"We followed your instructions and didn’t leave our hiding places, so we are safe."
"That’s good." Sean Knight said, "You handle the aftermath. If you need to take a vacation, then give the others some time off. After all, the house definitely needs some renovation."
This incident was merely a small interruption for Sean Knight, who was currently on a yacht, happily enjoying some seafood.
Meanwhile, another group in Jakarta had already set their sights on him.
"Every time Sean Knight goes treasure hunting, he reaps a significant reward, so this time, we will ambush him on his return trip. We will certainly get a bountiful harvest!" one of them optimistically said.
"Thanks to Charles Wright. If he hadn’t tracked Sean Knight’s every move, it would have been very difficult for us to find him."
There were five of them in total: three white men, one Asian, and one black man.
Charles Wright was a handsome young man who somewhat resembled a young Leonardo. The reason they were able to track Sean Knight’s movements so clearly was largely due to his attractive looks.
So, when his leader praised him, he flicked his golden hair confidently and said with a smile:
"It was nothing. As long as I get my fair share, it’s all fine."
"Rest assured, you will not receive less than anyone else! Of course, during a fight, you can stay at the back...we will play to your strengths."
"Actually, we could consider approaching the situation via Lana Brown. After all, she is a beauty." The Asian man jokingly said, "Charles Wright is quite capable. If he could win over Lana Brown, we could probably reap double the reward."
"No, no, no," before anyone else could respond, a glint flashed in Charles Wright’s eyes and he shook his head, saying:
"That’s not a good idea. I can only allure those fools who only have eyes for men. Lana Brown is quite shrewd and it might be difficult to get her."
"Never mind. Let’s first focus on the assured stuff." The middle-aged white man who was their leader, spoke. He then turned to the black man and asked.
"Has the boat been rented?"
"It’s rented and ready to set sail at any time."
"What about the weapons?"
