Chapter 462: Chapter 328: Unexpected Situation
For three days, Sean Knight went to the port daily, wandering around the gigantic warship.
He thought of several methods, but none could completely solve the problem.
The dumbest method was to dig little by little with a shovel, but the workload was immense.
First, those things were at least several tens of meters away from the warship, and the warship sank deeply. Digging alone would be too laborious.
Moreover, there was not only sand under the port but also stones, which could not be dug out by shovels.
Sean once considered collecting the entire warship into his spatial realm, but after measuring the size, he gave up this idea. The warship was too big, and his spatial realm couldn’t bear it.
If he failed to collect it and burst the Jade Space, that would be a massive loss!
This risk was definitely not worth taking.
Then Sean realized that he couldn’t do it with his current ability.
Fortunately, there is the internet now. He searched online and found equipment that could be used—an underwater cutter machine.
Sean immediately ordered two of them.
Next, it was a matter of patiently waiting.
Currently, the news about Sean finding treasures in the Philippines had not completely disappeared, so he had the things shipped to Oliver Brooks in Jakarta.
After that, they left Douglas Cooper to wait at the port while Sean and Elijah Hastings, along with Lincoln Harrington, took a yacht back to pick up the items and return.
Sean estimated that similar equipment should be available at Rock Island Port, but, to avoid tipping off others, it was safer to buy them from other places.
This round trip and waiting for the equipment to arrive took ten days.
When they arrived, Douglas reported a new situation as soon as he boarded the yacht.
"Since yesterday, this yacht has been near the port, and people dive underwater every day. I don’t know what they’re up to, but it’s very suspicious," Douglas pointed at a semi-old large yacht.
"At first, I didn’t pay much attention, but when I saw divers from that yacht enter the port today, I began to take notice. I found out this yacht is registered with Treasure Island, but the people on board, I can hear it very clearly, speak Japanese."
"You understand Japanese?" Elijah joked.
"I don’t understand it, but I know it’s Japanese." Douglas’ face turned slightly red.
Sean didn’t dwell on it and looked at the yacht, considering, "Today, let’s dive in and scout first to see what they are up to. If we have the same target, we need to come up with a strategy!"
They had the equipment, but it was still uncertain whether they could use it.
Everyone understood Sean’s intention to stay under the radar and make a fortune without attracting attention.
"Tomorrow I’ll keep an eye on that yacht. When they dive, I’ll follow from a distance. We have good eyesight so we can spot what they’re doing," Elijah offered first.
"I’ll inquire further," Douglas also shared his idea, "Let’s see what they’re here for on the surface."
Sean and Lincoln stayed on the yacht. Sean was too conspicuous and easily detected, while Lincoln operated the yacht, also protecting Sean.
The next day, their boat anchored 500 meters away from the other boat, and Elijah dived in first, followed by a brief resurfacing.
In the morning, two divers from the other side plunged. So did Elijah.
About ten minutes later, Elijah surfaced with two large shells and leaned on the yacht’s side, reporting to Sean, "Boss, they went underwater and circled around the warship, sprinkling some stuff. But it seems like their target is the warship too."
Hearing this, Sean’s heart sank slightly.
He thought all the Japanese who might have known about the treasure here were gone, but there were descendants left!
It seemed like they were prepared indeed!
Sean took a turn diving, watching the two men from afar around the warship.
Sean’s vision was far superior to theirs; he could see them, while they couldn’t see him.
Nevertheless, it weighed heavily on Sean’s heart.
From the looks of it, they didn’t seem to have just discovered the warship; they appeared to have come prepared.
As the other party was always circling the warship, Sean had no choice but to treat the situation like a tour.
When dusk fell and most boats had returned to the harbor, the divers on that yacht also returned to their stations, and Sean simply instructed them to return to the pier.
Douglas came up and reported the intelligence he had gathered.
"This yacht is a regular visitor here. It comes once or twice a year, claiming to be the descendants of Japanese residents who used to live here.
Many of their relatives died during the war, so they come to pay tribute."
Sean sneered and shook his head.
Paying their respects, huh!
They’re fooling ghosts!
It seemed like they were researching how to move the large warship covertly.
Of course, they might still face challenges, especially since they don’t have the Sky Eye like Sean to find the precise location of the buried treasure under the warship.
If they don’t have the exact location - even if they had maps before, the situation changed now. Once the warship sank, it would continue to sink further every year. After several decades or almost a century, who knew what changes there would be.
Having acquired the cutting machines, Sean could now find the shortest distance and cut the fastest.
