Chapter 1485: Chapter 709: Sinister Fate—Unknown Creature
The relationship with Cheryl Suweton was something even Sean Knight himself struggled to define.
Neither of them were content with staying still.
Sean Knight estimated that he would spend his lifetime traveling around the world, completely at odds with the traditional lover of Her Royal Highness.
Cheryl was also different from the traditional image of a European princess. Apart from certain festivals where she needed to make appearances with the Royal Family, she was completely absent from royal life at other times!
Like Sean, she would wander around the world, with legends and relics bearing witness to her presence.
Neither had plans to get married, appearing, on the surface, like a fleeting love affair.
Of course, in reality, it was not like that. Cheryl’s focus was not on romantic relationships. The reason she was with Sean was because he had rescued her—hero-saves-the-beauty... Even the strongest of women, when compared to powerful men, are relatively weak.
However, once away from Sean, Cheryl immediately transformed into an independent woman, with clear goals and no need for romantic entanglements.
If Sean could settle down, provide Cheryl with a stable marriage, perhaps her life would be more stable as well.
But Sean couldn’t offer that, and after learning of his circumstances, Cheryl didn’t hold much hope for marriage either.
It was better to strive for her own goals while young. At least in her old age, she’d have sufficient experiences to reminisce about.
These were the thoughts Sean had about their relationship while on the airplane.
Of course, it was actually more complicated. After all, the complexity of human nature was not something mere AIs could comprehend.
After the airplane landed in Stockholm, Sean stepped off and immediately saw a very anxious Prince Delton waiting for him.
Clearly, Delton was extremely worried about his sister. He had great hopes for Sean as well.
Sean, accompanied by Elijah Hastings and two others, approached Prince Delton.
After a brief greeting, Sean asked, "When exactly did Cheryl go missing? Do you have a specific location?"
Previously, Delton had only made a phone call to Sean about Cheryl’s disappearance. Sean had rushed over without getting detailed information.
"She went missing one week ago. At that time, she was exploring in the Faroe Islands and reportedly discovered a prehistoric human ruin site. Due to some experiences beforehand, we insisted that she maintains contact with us at least once a day.
But three days ago, there was no phone call, and we panicked. We contacted government officials nearby to search the area where she was supposed to be, but they found no one... The government has already sent out search teams, but to no avail."
Delton’s words caused Sean’s expression to darken.
He was not familiar with the Faroe Islands, only knowing they were located in Northern Europe, not very large, with a population equivalent to a township on the Northwest frontier.
The complexity of the terrain might be the only issue since the foundation was a Volcano Island.
Prehistoric human ruin site?
Was it reliable?
"I’m heading over there right now," Sean said, turning to board the airplane again.
"No, no, no, there’s an airport there, but your airplane won’t be able to make it," Delton intervened. "We still have to prepare. Besides, we’ve also requested some professional search and rescue teams..."
"I won’t join them," Sean said with a shake of his head. "Just send me her last known coordinates, and I’ll go looking for her with my people."
Sean didn’t distrust the professional search personnel; he just didn’t want Cheryl to encounter any danger. After all, anything could happen out in the wilderness.
Especially on a former Volcano Island, no one dared to be too sure...
Delton didn’t try to stop Sean any longer. He sent the last known location of Cheryl to Sean, who then hurriedly left with Elijah and the others.
Sean and Elijah, carrying simple luggage, arrived at the local airport and flew to the Vagar Island Airport—the only airport in the Faroe Islands.
After exiting the airport, they headed straight for the pier. Transportation between the seventeen inhabited islands and one uninhabited island of the Faroe Islands relied mainly on boats.
Cheryl’s last known location was on Streymoy Island, the largest island in the Faroe Islands with an area of over three hundred square kilometers. It was also the most populous island in the Faroe Islands; logically, it should already have been developed thoroughly—how could someone still go missing here?
Instead of rushing to the location Delton had sent, Sean first stopped in Torshavn, the largest city on the island, to look for traces Cheryl and her companions might have left.
Several hours later, Sean made some discoveries.
Cheryl had come here with a squad, four women and three men. They sought a Guide, hired a Car, and bought Equipment. According to the owner of a local outdoor equipment store, besides the ruin site Delton had specified, they intended to visit an abandoned Mountain Cave by the Seaside.
Sure enough, more probing led to unexpected results.
"Boss, where to first?" Elijah asked Sean while sitting in the Car.
"Let’s go to the ruin site first and see what clues we can uncover there."
The Off-road vehicle roared to life, racing toward the ruin site a few kilometers away.
According to the locals, this Ruin Site had been discovered only recently. Previous researchers had claimed the Faroe Islands were uninhabited by prehistoric humans.
Far from the mainland, before humans migrated here, only sheep and native animals existed. Resources of wild animals were scarce, let alone prehistoric humans.
