Chapter 1393: Chapter 677: My Goods, I am Just That Domineering!_3

Looking at the mountains of equipment boxes piled up in the campsite, Yvonne gritted her teeth and pulled out her mobile phone to make a call.

After she relayed the situation, the person on the other end of the line pondered for a moment, then finally said,

"Wait for me to come over."

Yvonne let out a sigh of relief and hung up the phone.

If they took it seriously, then this matter was essentially settled.

However, she hoped they would arrive quickly.

This was, in fact, a breach of protocol for her and was already crossing a line.

Yvonne didn’t want to return to Small Town either, so she simply found a spot to sit down and wait.

Half an hour later, a commotion came from the direction of the highway leading to Small Town.

It was the sound of tractors again, but this time they were noisier.

Douglas Cooper also received a phone call—the person receiving the goods had arrived.

Douglas reported to Sean Knight, who waved his hand dismissively:

"You’ve been in charge from the start, so you handle this one too. I won’t get involved."

Douglas didn’t hesitate. He took Sean’s account details and headed in the direction from which the sound of the tractors was coming.

Elijah Hastings hurriedly called two team members to follow.

Lincoln Harrington asked,

"Boss, you’re really not going over?"

"No need. Douglas can handle it," Sean said with a smile. "Tell everyone we can stop digging. We don’t need the stuff inside here anymore. What we have outside is already enough for us to share."

"What about the remaining things inside?" Elijah turned around and asked.

"Later, after we finish our business, I’ll just tell Sergei to turn over what’s inside to the Mayor, let him find someone to dig it up. If we’re eating meat, we should at least let others have some soup!"

Everyone present nodded their agreement.

That’s how Sean always spoke, and how he acted.

So after he finished speaking, everyone else went about their business.

Viola stayed by Sean’s side, with a hint of admiration now in her eyes.

When Yvonne heard the tractor engines, she knew trouble was brewing!

She looked in the direction the tractors were coming from, and soon, a dozen tractors with large carriages drove into the woods and then stopped not far from where Yvonne was.

When people from the tractors got down, Yvonne couldn’t help but blurt out:

"Mr. Slaven?"

"Yvonne? What are you doing here?" Mr. Slaven looked at her with some confusion.

Yvonne immediately understood... Douglas was right, they had indeed received a call from someone else, and that person was Mr. Slaven—the one above Teluk!

Now, she was done for!

Yvonne said with a wry smile, gesturing towards the freight yard,

"We’ve been here for a few days now, talking with Mr. Cooper..."

She tried to salvage the situation by saying they were still in talks, clearly meaning that there was an order of precedence for such affairs.

But Mr. Slaven, as if he didn’t understand the implication, cheerfully said,

"It seems you’re well-informed. But, Mr. Cooper and I are also in talks, and as far as I know, Mr. Cooper is interested in working with me."

Yvonne sighed, realizing that in the end, both Teluk and herself were out of the picture.

By this time, Douglas had already come over. Mr. Slaven no longer paid attention to Yvonne but walked briskly towards Douglas.

Yvonne made two phone calls. First, she told the person she had called earlier not to come over and explained the situation with Mr. Slaven, to which the person silently hung up the call.

Then, after finishing talking with Teluk, he also hung up the phone—Yvonne could tell that Teluk had thrown his phone in frustration.

Yvonne left the scene feeling dejected, while Mr. Slaven was indeed having a happy conversation with Douglas.

The two sides quickly reached a contract. After Mr. Slaven and his subordinates checked the equipment, they paid promptly, loaded the cars, and drove away.

In the campsite, the team members helped along.

Although they felt somewhat reluctant, Sean immediately announced a bonus of fifty-thousand dollars to each person, along with a collector’s Mosin-Nagant rifle, which made the team members forget their reluctance and work happily.

Although they couldn’t bring the rifles back home, the boss had bases around the world; if all else failed, it was okay to leave them on Big Island!

All in all, adding up the odds and ends, each team member’s take-home was averaging over 100,000 dollars—a substantial sum.

How could they not be happy?

Mr. Slaven did not linger. After loading the goods, he quickly left.

The campsite once again became empty.

The nearby Diggers, who had come to watch, also dispersed.

"Call Sergei," Sean told Viola, "and tell him to inform the Mayor that there are still a decent amount of supplies underneath. Although they’re not worth a fortune, they would still represent a nice income if dug up.

Wait until we leave in two days; when we do, we’ll hand over the campsite to Small Town, and then it’s up to them to handle it."

Viola excitedly made the call, quickly spread the good news to Sergei, and then Sergei relayed the message to the Mayor.

Within an hour, Sergei arrived in Lev’s tractor.

In the tractor, Mayor Peterof also came along.

After seeing for himself what remained in the warehouse, Peterof declared with great gesture:

"Tell your Mr. Knight that our Small Town will always regard him as a good friend!"

Peterof knew that Sean wasn’t short on money, so in the tractor he brought over some local specialties such as honey, deer meat, and antlers. Although cumbersome, they were indeed heartfelt gifts.

Douglas accepted them on behalf of Sean.

It wasn’t long after the Mayor and Sergei left when Lev’s tractor came back again. This time, the tractor was carrying several dozen girls.

Despite the cold weather, these girls were dressed rather openly, some even wearing miniskirts.

Douglas came over to consult with Sean.

Sean, who didn’t usually concern himself with these matters, just said to Douglas:

"Just make sure it’s safe—that’s important. But it’s probably best to go to Small Town. Here, several people share a tent, and there’s not much room to spread out."

With that, Douglas understood. Sean wasn’t opposed to it, so he knew how to handle the matter.

At this moment, Viola suddenly said,

"Some of these aren’t from our Small Town."

Her comment immediately raised Sean’s alert!
