Chapter 1391: Chapter 677: My Goods, I am Just That Domineering!
Sean Knight was sitting beside Douglas Cooper when they both heard the sound of a tractor approaching. Douglas exclaimed,
"Could it be the Buyer coming? They’re moving quickly!"
"Perhaps they’re just eager. After all, with such a big transaction, they probably wouldn’t feel at ease without seeing the goods in person," Elijah Hastings speculated.
Lincoln Harrington remained silent, simply nodding in agreement.
Viola acted as Sean Knight’s personal translator. While they were eating together and she heard the others talking, she simply looked outside with curiosity.
By this time, the tractor’s engine grew louder; it was almost at the Campground Entrance. Sean Knight did not move, and just as Douglas was about to stand up, Sean suddenly said,
"Never mind them; let’s eat. We’ll talk after we’re done."
Douglas was puzzled, as his boss, Sean Knight, wasn’t known to be someone who dawdled.
But Sean Knight went on to say,
"It’s not the one you called on the phone. It’s likely Teluk. If they’ve brought a tractor, it could mean they’re ready to compromise..."
"Teluk?" Douglas looked baffled and stretched his neck to see outside, but his view was blocked by the tent. However, he took Sean Knight’s word for it and said,
"If it’s really him, then I won’t bother. The guy’s not playing fair!"
Shortly thereafter, the team member guarding the entrance reported via Walkie-Talkie that Teluk had arrived.
Douglas gave Sean Knight a thumbs-up,
"Boss, your hearing is unparalleled!"
He took the Walkie-Talkie and told the team member,
"Have them wait!"
They waited for over ten minutes before Douglas, only after everyone had finished eating, stood up and walked out.
Teluk had been waiting outside for over ten minutes, and he was truly getting anxious.
This wasn’t his first time dealing as an intermediary; truth be told, he was usually greeted with courtesy wherever he went.
But unexpectedly, today he found himself waiting for over ten minutes without anyone coming over!
Teluk was very angry—really very angry!
Yvonne, who was beside him, knew that Teluk was in a bad mood and tried to persuade him,
"Boss, today is different from other times. You should know, the news about this batch of goods has already leaked out. If we can’t secure it, just wait a few more days, and if other people come along, the goods won’t be ours anymore!
We still have to take care of that other deal we’re carrying, and if we can’t get goods here, it’s going to be hard to find another suitable source anytime soon!"
After going back yesterday, Teluk had intended to let Douglas stew a little longer.
However, the news Yvonne brought forced him to change his mind.
It turned out that a friend called Yvonne, asking if they were at this location and whether a World War II warehouse had been discovered there with a large quantity of Equipment in World War II unearthed.
Initially aligned with Teluk, Yvonne had also wanted to make Teluk suffer a little and learn his lesson.
But the friend’s phone call was a wake-up call—there was no possible way to keep the warehouse’s discovery under wraps.
So would other Brokers who heard the news come running here?
It was simple common sense!
They had indeed gotten here first, but the problem was that Teluk’s current approach was just wiping out their head start!
Concerned more with the situation than with holding a grudge, Yvonne hastily sought out Teluk.
After a thorough analysis by Yvonne, Teluk also realized that trying to pressure Sean Knight now could very well end up costing him the most!
So the minor conflicts between him and Yvonne were set aside, and the immediate priority became securing the goods!
Yvonne had also advised Teluk to just purchase at the offer they had previously made. They couldn’t lower their price any further—if the others refused to sell, it would leave them in a difficult position, wasting more time.
And time was what they could least afford to lose!
Though Teluk was arrogant and proud, he wasn’t a fool. His arrogance was fueled by his wealth. Now if he failed to close this deal, not only would he miss out on making money, but he might even lose what he had earned before—so he temporarily put aside his capricious temperament.
But to his surprise, when he took a step back, the other side became even more insistent!
"Yvonne, I won’t raise the price any higher," Teluk decided, "The maximum is the offer you’ve made them!"
Yvonne did not respond. Before coming, they had already agreed they must secure all the goods, regardless of the cost—even if it meant raising the price.
But seeing all the Diggers around, and having been so visibly snubbed here, how could Teluk maintain his composure?
And then he saw Douglas Cooper sauntering over.
"Hello, Douglas!" Yvonne greeted him proactively.
If it weren’t for the two armed team members standing guard, he would have welcomed Douglas first.
"Hello, Yvonne," Douglas, who had a favorable impression of him, replied with a smile, "So, any new thoughts?"
"Well," said Yvonne, taking over the conversation as Teluk remained silent with a stern face, "I went back and had a good talk with my boss, and we think it’s necessary to continue our cooperation.
Due to some misunderstandings before, both sides were displeased, but we are both clear that we need each other. So today, we came straight over with our car, intending to buy the merchandise outright."
"And the price?" Douglas said with a smirk, "Are you in charge of that? And that person beside you, is he really willing? There’s no need to force it!"
Yvonne’s face reddened slightly, and a surge of anger rose in Teluk’s eyes.
