Chapter 1375: Chapter 671: Most Fond of Catching Turtles in a Jar!_3
"Bang! Bang!"
Like uncorking an empty bottle, two radish-thick special projectiles flew toward the campground, exploding in midair, causing some powder and gas to envelop the area immediately!
"Let’s go!" the leader immediately ordered through the earpiece, and the men in black formed a fan shape to encircle the campground!
There was no movement in the campground; these men turned on the tactical flashlights attached to their guns, cautiously moving closer—occasionally, a few of them were caught in traps, but they merely groaned quietly as others nearby began to free them!
Seeing the traps, the leader immediately instructed others to watch their steps.
Indeed, they encountered many more traps and successfully avoided them—with the help of the light, careful attentiveness generally revealed them. The campground was still eerily silent, the screams of the men in black did not draw the expected attention.
The men in black felt this was normal, and they finally arrived inside the campground, then aimed their guns at the tents.
"Be careful, don’t damage the money—" the leader ordered, "We don’t need the people alive, but the main thing is to find the box carrying the money!"
One bold and impatient man immediately bent down to pull open the tent zipper, seemingly unconcerned about the possibility of people inside waking up.
Clearly, the white powder and gas previously released had been problematic!
"Bang bang bang bang!"
Just then, suddenly, sharp shots rang out from afar!
The men in black fell to the ground one by one, their bodies sprouting blood-spewing bullet holes!
"It’s an ambush!" someone finally yelled, but the next moment, he was hit by a bullet and toppled to the ground!
The men in black reacted quickly, immediately seeking cover on the ground and starting to return fire!
However, the direction from which the bullets were coming was pitch black, yet their position still had a light shining, making them perfect targets!
They had no idea that their attackers were not only hidden in the dark but also had infrared scopes on their guns!
The men lying down were being picked off one by one like sitting ducks!
Finally, someone couldn’t take it any longer, and got up to rush back the way they had come, but he wasn’t able to run a few steps before being shot down!
Suddenly, the leading man in black threw down his gun and shouted loudly:
"I surrender! I surrender! Please let me go, I surrender!"
The others hadn’t expected their team leader to surrender, and by the time they wanted to emulate him, it was too late.
"Bring him over." A voice from the forest, clearly Chinese, commanded.
Several team members spread out into the campground, executing the attackers one by one. Elijah Hastings kept his gun aimed at the captain as he brought him to Sean Knight.
This was the strategy Sean Knight and his team had devised.
If Andrew Petrov’s men wanted to retrieve the money, they would either attack forcefully or attempt a stealth attack.
Sean Knight and his team were worried that if these men disregarded the money and simply bombarded the campground at night or threw a round of hand grenades, their team members would be done for.
Therefore, the campground had dummies left inside, and all team members had secretly moved to an ambush spot prepared outside the campground after lights out.
Here, they crawled into camouflaged sleeping bags where they could rest while still being on alert, waiting for the attackers to arrive.
"Ask him where Andrew is now?"
Viola quickly questioned the man.
The man’s eyes flickered, and he uttered two words.
"He says he doesn’t know," Viola translated after the man finished.
"Cut off one of his fingers." Sean Knight said, "They must have been confident we’d come because there is a tracker in the box with the money. Tell him, I’ll ask one more time, if he still doesn’t know, then next time it won’t just be a finger missing!"
Elijah Hastings casually brandished a knife and swiftly removed the captain’s right thumb!
Viola, startled, trembled slightly as she translated Sean Knight’s words.
The captain screamed in pain, and then Elijah Hastings punched him in the stomach, causing him to double over in agony.
Sean Knight continued:
"Three seconds to think!"
Viola immediately translated!
The captain, no longer caring about the pain, quickly shouted out a sentence.
"He says Andrew is in a caravan at the edge of a small town, awaiting their report—he has a mobile phone here, and Andrew is waiting for his reply."
"Tell him, if his reply is accurate, and we find Andrew later, then he can live, I guarantee it," Sean Knight said:
"If we get there and Andrew has already left, then he will be treated as tonight’s mastermind!"
Viola, no longer trembling, continued translating.
The man nodded repeatedly.
Sean Knight signaled to Elijah Hastings, who immediately led some men away, while Lincoln Harrington took a mobile phone from the captain’s pocket, turned it on, and handed it to him.
The captain, using his uninjured left hand, shakily dialed the number.
"Tell him to mind his tone when he speaks, his life is now in his own hands!"
Viola translated immediately.
The phone connected, and the captain took a deep breath and spoke a string of words in Russian.
Sean Knight could tell from the captain’s tone that it was fairly normal, without any peculiar intonation, probably not signaling anything to Andrew.
Viola listened to the captain’s words, her expression changing, yet she said nothing.
The captain hung up the phone, and Viola translated:
"He says they’ve taken us down here, the money is secured—they’ll be heading back soon."
"Okay," Sean waved his hand, "Just keep an eye on him for now, we’ll wait for Captain Hastings’ situation. If Andrew hasn’t fled and is just where he pointed out, then we’ll release him. Otherwise, we’ll use him to quench my anger."
By now, other team members had already begun digging graves for those killed in black clothing. They had done this once before, and this time it was done with practiced ease.
Then, Sean Knight and his teammates quietly waited for news.
About half an hour later, Sean Knight’s mobile phone rang.
The most nervous one at that moment was the captured captain.
Sean Knight answered the call.
