Chapter 1348: Chapter 662 Who Decides to Stay or Leave?_3

Elijah Hastings left quietly, knowing his presence was no longer required here.

The members of the Seliman tribe had been sent off, and she had gone with them. By now, these tribal members clearly understood that the rescuer was sent by Seliman, and how they would be arranged ultimately depended on her will.

The designated settlement was a newly built Little District intended originally to serve as a dormitory for workers. Each room was shared by two people, equipped with brand new and ready-to-use beds.

Once the tribal members reached their rooms, Seliman gathered the three elders of the tribe together.

"The current situation is as follows. If we settle here, we will inevitably come into contact with many outsiders. Our existence cannot be kept secret.

If we move to the surrounding small islands, we will live there as indigenous people. However, no matter which choice we make, we shall be self-reliant..."

"We can also leave this place!" the elder who had rebuked Seliman suddenly interjected, "We have quite a few properties around the world. Selling them would be enough for us to survive in some small countries!"

"But in doing so, we would be undocumented—mass national migration activities are now heavily frowned upon. The whole world is reevaluating, considering whether actions like those of Israel might have a negative impact on the locals!"

Before Seliman could explain, another elder immediately raised an objection, having caught up on the day’s news.

"Indeed. They say Brazil has already started investigating the Japanese," another elder added anxiously:

"Besides, even if we sold those properties, would it be enough to cover the rescuing fees? We can’t just let others rescue us for free, right?"

"I’ve already paid a part of the fee," Seliman said in a low voice, "I’ll figure out the rest."

"Hmph!" The elder, who had previously rebuked Seliman, glared at her, still believing that Seliman was to blame for this expulsion and kidnapping incident.

"Sharlie, you need to change your attitude toward Seliman!" another elder spoke up, "This time, if not for Seliman, we probably would all have died in the Middle East! Without Seliman, that mysterious man would not have allowed us to stay here!"

"Yes, Sharlie," another elder chimed in, "I don’t think this is Sharlie’s fault.

She was searching for the Holy Relic for the sake of our entire tribe, as decided by the Elders Council. It’s not right to push the blame onto her when things go wrong!

I heard that upon awakening, you rebuked her, causing the two people rescuing us to get injured... Your actions were wrong!

You’ve always thought of Seliman as a bearer of ill fortune, but it’s clear now that she is not! If you don’t change your attitude, even if you are the head elder, both of us reserve the right to expel you!"

Sharlie’s expression darkened instantly.

"The days of old are gone. We must start afresh," another elder stated, "Now we must rely on the relationship between Seliman and that mysterious man to stand a chance.

So, Sharlie, please change your temper. If our people want to survive, Seliman is an indispensable link."

Sharlie said no more.

Seliman quickly spoke:

"The matters of the tribe still need confirmation by the elders. I am not very capable; once I retrieve the scepters, I will do my best to ensure a better life for our people."

"Seliman," the supportive elder said kindly, "you don’t need to feel guilty.

This time, you are a great benefactor to our tribe. You owe nothing to the tribe; rather, the tribe owes you. The tribal members are capable; you needn’t work so hard to support them.

You have already secured very favorable conditions for everyone. If the people still feel unsatisfied, then let them fend for themselves."

Ultimately, the three elders agreed to move to the new island and live as indigenous people. This way, the resources available to them would be significantly increased.

"On the new island, we will own some fishing boats and can start some businesses using tourist resources," Seliman said:

"The houses there are currently being built, and we can move there in two days. The gentleman will initially provide us with a batch of supplies, including food, clothes, and other necessities.

If you need anything else, just let me know, and I will figure something out."

The elders looked at each other; being shrewd and experienced, they could clearly see that Seliman actually held significant sway in these decisions.

Why?

What did they have that would make that mysterious man commit to them?

All eyes turned to Seliman.

It goes without saying.

Seliman suddenly caught the elders’ gaze; she instantly understood what they were implying.

However, she didn’t say anything.

For her people, she had already made her decision.

Sean Knight had learned from Elijah Hastings that Seliman’s tribespeople were moving to the new island. He approved. As for the supplies, Sean didn’t need to request them himself; Lana Brown could handle the distribution.

Lana Brown was very compliant, asking no questions, and distributed any required supplies unconditionally.

These items were trivial compared to the current income of the Big Island.

And with several nearby small islands, Lana was certain that she just needed to manage the Big Island well. As for the small islands, Sean could arrange them as he wished.

After spending two enjoyable days on the Big Island, Sean received from Elijah Hastings the Sharde family’s response regarding the incident.

"A global warrant?" Sean looked at the reward notice and laughed.

The Sharde family was truly enraged, hence the global warrant.

Yet actually, from the notice, Sean saw the impotence of the Sharde family—the warrant mentioned nothing about the people rescued, merely the stolen goods, with a stated reward— one million dollars.

This warrant was not only posted on the dark web but was also publicly released through global media outlets.

Many mercenaries and security companies were interested in the warrant, but to date, no one had publicly announced acceptance of this reward.

After all, the Sharde family’s identity was known, and currently, apart from the countries controlled by Jewish people and their allies, most other nations were siding with those oppressed or bombed.

So, Sean was not concerned.

The news that worried Sean came from the second piece of intelligence provided by Elijah Hastings!
