Chapter 1333: Chapter 657 This is a Sad Story_3

He naturally didn’t know that, despite the distance, Sean Knight was actually able to hear his words!

It seems that what Lincoln Harrington said was mostly true!

Back in his cabin, Sean Knight looked at the little penguin, feeling somewhat worried.

If a fight really broke out, what would happen to this little guy?

The little penguin seemed to sense Sean Knight’s thoughts. It looked up at him, let out two squawks, and then lay down to sleep by his side.

Well, when the soldiers come, the earth will flood.

At breakfast the second day, Sean Knight distinctly felt a somewhat stifling atmosphere in the Dining Hall.

The woman he saw on the Deck yesterday came over with her dinner plate, picking at her food as she quietly asked,

"Do you know what happened?"

"I have no idea," Sean Knight replied with a clueless expression.

"I heard that two people went missing last night," said the woman, looking around cautiously.

"What?" Sean Knight looked shocked. "Could they have accidentally fallen into the sea?"

"Some speculate it was a murder," the woman said. "So everyone is pretty worried..." She glanced at Sean Knight, "I know you’re an outsider, but you need to protect yourself."

After she finished speaking, she turned and left.

Watching the woman’s retreating figure, Sean wondered, why was this woman taking such an interest in him?

Or perhaps she was keeping an eye on those who didn’t belong to Nancy’s group?

Three days passed with everyone on edge as two more people disappeared. Then Sean Knight found out that one of them had been taken care of by Lincoln Harrington and his group because the person had been keeping an eye on the foreign staff.

On the third day, Nancy called another meeting, announcing only one thing:

"For easier management, everyone is now required to live on the Deck below. Two people per Room, and you may pair up freely."

Nancy seemed to be in a hurry, leaving quickly after making her announcement.

The rest looked at each other in bewilderment.

Sean Knight saw Elijah Hastings, Lincoln Harrington, and Douglas Cooper.

There was an Indian man with them, and they were discussing something in hushed voices.

Someone approached them, whispering a question, but they shook their heads.

Soon after, Elijah and his group walked over to Sean Knight.

"Let’s stick together."

All having Chinese faces, their actions didn’t seem unusual to the others.

Sean Knight nodded, still wearing a somewhat bewildered look on his face.

They departed, and the woman quickly approached Sean Knight, saying with a strange look on her face,

"You’re very lucky!"

Sean guessed she had seen several Yellow Race men inviting him. This at least indicated that Sean was not without allies.

Along the way, a Pakistani joined them, which Sean found strange. Lincoln later explained.

It turned out he was one of the Maoist faction.

The six of them settled into three adjoining cabins. Elijah and Sean shared a Room.

"Boss, those people might arrive in the next two days." Elijah whispered to Sean in the cabin. "We used these few idle days to survey the boat thoroughly. If chaos breaks out, we’re prepared to strike or defend. We’re just not sure yet how many will come."

Sean briefed Elijah about the incident with the woman, then said,

"There are probably one or several forces among these remaining people. Nancy’s group likely didn’t expect the situation to be this complex."

After some thought, Elijah said,

"It’s unlikely that we’ll initiate contact with these people. We can’t even tell which of them are Nancy’s people."

"If something really happens, stay alert and eliminate those who come to the rescue at once," Sean Knight reflected and said, "Just stay vigilant against the others. If they make a move, take them down. Our own safety comes first."

Elijah nodded. Sean didn’t say much more, trusting that Elijah and his group knew their limits.

"Boss, if things go south, you should hide..."

"Don’t worry about me," Sean said with a smile. "Rest assured, I may not be as professional as you are, but if I need to hide, they might not even be able to find me."

Elijah believed that too.

After consolidating the living quarters, the Deck was no longer freely accessible. When Sean tried to go up, the staff stopped him, saying it was unsafe.

Sean guessed that the operation was close to commencing, so he didn’t insist further.

After returning to his cabin, he put the little penguin inside and quietly made his way to the lower decks.

Though the staff were supposed to control these areas, truth be told, with Sean’s abilities, they really couldn’t stop him.

After making a few detours, Sean emerged on the other side of the Deck, only to discover a situation that startled him.

Nancy was standing on one side of the Deck talking to the woman who had warned him, with several staff guarding them.

Sean had good hearing but could only catch words like "plan," "watch the Asian Descendants," and "thoroughly," due to the distance.

However, that was enough.

He hadn’t expected things to be so complicated!

Sean thought to himself that he was lucky he hadn’t trusted that woman; otherwise, he might have been sold out without even realizing it!

After returning, he reported the situation to Elijah.

Elijah hadn’t expected it either.

That night, as Sean was reading in his Room, he suddenly heard a faint vibration.

He immediately said to Elijah,

"They’re here!"

Although Elijah didn’t hear anything, he chose to trust Sean and immediately went out to inform Lincoln and the others.

Soon, Elijah and the three others, along with an Indian comrade, began to set up their defense.

Sean, meanwhile, gestured to them and quietly moved to the lower deck cabins.

In the middle of the night, a brief burst of gunshots erupted from the cabins!

At that moment, Sean had already sneaked outside Nancy’s room.

Not only Nancy, but two unfamiliar faces were inside.

Sky Eye could tell that these were people Sean had never seen before, likely those who had arrived by helicopter—there was a helipad on the icebreaker, and a helicopter sat on it now.

A single helicopter couldn’t transport many people, so Sean wasn’t worried about the combat capabilities of Elijah and his group.

He was listening to Nancy’s plans.

"Take these people out and make it look like an accident. Cover up everything about the Underground Relic," said one man. "We absolutely can’t let anyone else know about this!"

Nancy nodded.

Sean thought to himself, alright, since you all feel that way, there’s no need for you to exist anymore!
