Chapter 1299: Chapter 646: Not Enough to See!_2
"Bang, bang, bang, bang!"
Sean Knight had his automatic rifle at the ready, barely able to contain his impatience!
Seeing the shadowy figure lunging towards him, he immediately pulled the trigger—Sky Eye had revealed that the enemy was wearing a bulletproof vest.
However, the powerful kinetic energy of the automatic rifle sent the bastard staggering backward, with several bullets hitting his arm, causing the Red Fox to truly bleed.
After firing a long burst, Red Fox was desperately dodging, using the staircase’s angle to avoid bullets, when Sean Knight tossed a hand grenade towards him!
Red Fox had no choice but to keep retreating, but he knew if he went any further he’d be back with Black Bear, and then the two men who had narrowly escaped death would probably both be killed in a crossfire.
As the grenade rolled towards him, Red Fox gritted his teeth, picked it up, and threw it outside. The grenade exploded mid-air, shards flew towards him and Black Bear, but none hit any vital points.
Enduring his wounds, Red Fox also threw a smoke bomb up, then dove headfirst into the ensuing cloud.
He planned to take advantage of the smoke’s cover to rush up to Sean Knight and capture him.
Knowing it was an ambush and that Sean Knight’s side would definitely be prepared, but at the moment, there was only one chance left.
Having once moved in and out of a battlefield unscathed against ten men, Red Fox couldn’t believe he was taking losses here, his belly full of rage. Yet, he knew getting angry was utterly useless now!
The smoke enveloped the entire second floor. Red Fox, relying on his memory from just moments before, charged inside. He knew if he could catch Sean Knight, not only would the mission be complete, but he could also avenge his team members.
At this time, Sean Knight was embarrassingly looking at Lincoln Harrington and Rainee Thomson on either side.
He had heard the commotion downstairs and, in a moment of excitement, had rushed over and opened fire. While it was exhilarating for him, it had disrupted the plan previously devised by Lincoln Harrington and the others.
Now that the smoke had risen, the three of them backed away to outside of the smoke, according to Lincoln Harrington’s thinking, they just needed to wait relaxedly and gun down anyone who emerged.
Yet, Sean Knight once again raised his gun.
There was only one person in the smoke. Despite the rapid movement and the presence of smoke, it did not affect Sean Knight’s ability to see him—Sean Knight steadied himself in a crouch, aiming his gun securely at Red Fox’s head:
"Bang!"
Red Fox had just realized he had reached the edge of the smoke, one step away from breaking free, clutching an impact grenade, ready to throw it at anyone he saw upon emerging!
However, less than two meters from the edge of the smoke, his intuition screamed at him!
Years of battlefield experience made him duck his head sharply, and he felt a sudden bang as if his head had been struck by a hammer!
Sean Knight was slightly annoyed, raised his gun to fire again, then saw something black thrown his way!
Sean Knight saw Red Fox had been knocked down by the tremendous force. He stepped forward, flipped his rifle around, and, like a baseball bat, swung at the incoming impact grenade!
Bang!
The impact grenade was sent flying!
"Boss!" Lincoln Harrington was furious, annoyed by his boss’s impulsivity!
Actually, his sight was pretty good too, recognizing that there was only one person in the smoke. However, Sean Knight’s repeated risk-taking made it difficult for them.
"It’s all good now!" Sean Knight pointed at Red Fox:
"That guy is out cold, we can just tie him up. There should be another big guy down there..."
Rainee Thomson didn’t wait for Sean Knight to finish, pulling out two grenades and smashed them downstairs!
The heavy gunfire below indicated that the guy was a heavy firepower soldier; Rainee Thomson definitely didn’t want Sean Knight charging in again.
"Boom, boom!"
After two explosions, the gunfire downstairs ceased.
By then, Lincoln Harrington and Sean Knight had already lifted Red Fox up.
Red Fox’s head was still in a daze—he had been concussed by that shot—if the bullet hadn’t hit the upper rim of the helmet, it would have likely cracked his skull open—after all, at such a short distance, a helmet cannot withstand the full force of a bullet from an automatic rifle.
Lincoln Harrington tied up Red Fox, while Sean Knight said:
"Leave him to me, I’ll see if I can interrogate anything out of him."
Lincoln Harrington knew Sean Knight had special abilities, Rainee Thomson did not, but that did not stop her from knowing what to do next. Without waiting for Lincoln Harrington’s response, Rainee Thomson had already helped Sean Knight carry Red Fox into his room.
The gunfire outside ceased, and the team members began descending to clear the battlefield.
That guy named Black Bear had been blown to pieces. He had so much faith in Red Fox that he only focused on suppressing the firepower outside, completely neglecting his rear, so he had no idea grenades were coming from behind.
The power of two grenades was enough to blow his limbs apart—Rainee Thomson was somewhat surprised that Black Bear was not fully dead yet, still clinging to his last breath.
Such a strong will to live!
But that was all that was left of him, and Rainee Thomson gave him a quick death.
While piling up the bodies, Sean Knight rushed out from the room.
"There’s still one of their backup team members outside, codenamed Black Cat, a woman. She’s probably run off by now!"
Elijah Hastings, who was outside overseeing the team members, shook his head upon hearing Sean Knight’s words:
"Don’t worry boss, we’ve also got people posted on the perimeter. All roads leading out have been watched, she won’t get away!"
Only then did Sean Knight relax and then turned to re-enter the room.
He had only interrogated halfway through Red Fox and needed to continue.
Although it required knocking out Red Fox again, the intelligence he had obtained earlier was too important, so he was not bothered by the inconvenience.
While still groggy, Red Fox had fallen under Sean Knight’s control through an Illusion Skill. Now, seeing signs of Red Fox coming to, Sean Knight immediately reinforced his control and resumed extracting information.
