Chapter 1297: 645
Whoa, this thing is enormous!
Although Sean Knight had speculated before, being able to allocate 20 billion as liquid funds for an Agent, the foundation must be more than a hundred times that. Still, it turned out to be true!
The money Sean Knight took this time wouldn’t cripple them, but it was certainly very painful.
It wasn’t a small amount of money!
Even the Rothschild family couldn’t just ignore 20 billion!
"How could they be sure it was me?" Sean Knight still harbored some luck, after all, he had been relatively secretive. He had erased all the evidence.
"Why do they need to be sure?" Robert countered, "They just need to suspect! They want your food supplies, and you happened to be in that area at the time. Plus, you have a motive for revenge. That’s enough!"
Sean Knight suddenly realized!
He had underestimated the malice and ruthlessness of these old Jewish families!
They didn’t need evidence, nor did they need to confirm whether Sean Knight was really the one who did it.
They just needed to know that at the time of the incident, Sean Knight was within the area and had the motive. That was enough to capture him first!
Nine years of compulsory education had taught Sean Knight to be too kind.
Talking civility and reason with a group of people who firmly believe in the law of the dark forest was really overestimating their humanity—of course, Sean Knight would never admit that the incident was caused by him.
After all, they moved first!
"I have to go into hiding myself recently," Robert said, "They’ve found a dozen hackers to trace my location, so let’s not contact each other for a while. If something comes up, I’ll let you know."
Robert ended the phone call, and Sean Knight immediately called Elijah Hastings and the others over.
"Someone’s planning a surprise attack on us?" Elijah Hastings and the others weren’t very surprised.
Although their main mission the night before was to find Wendell Martin, they weren’t clear on what exactly Sean Knight had done.
But they watched the news.
By morning, the news in Brazil exploded that food had disappeared from dozens of boats at the Port, which was sensational news!
They also noticed another piece of news about a dozen sudden heart attacks at a Hotel.
Elijah Hastings and the others were absolutely convinced that the boss was behind it.
As for how it was done, even though they might guess, they would definitely not ask, and would silently act as though nothing had happened.
"So, do we strike first, or wait for the rabbit?" Douglas Cooper asked.
"Wait for the rabbit," Sean Knight said, "Right now we’re in the dark, we don’t even know who they are, it’s best to stay here and conserve our strength."
"Then we have to order the team members," Lincoln Harrington said, "Now that the Small Town is bustling and noisy, our courtyard isn’t too far away, it’ll be very troublesome if something happens."
"Give the orders quietly, maintain low-key on the outside but strict on the inside," Sean Knight said. "Those who should be on duty or go outside will do so, but remain vigilant when going out, and don’t stray too far.
They’re all small groups; they won’t make big moves, and the main target should be me. So, the greatest possibility is a surprise attack."
"Roger that." Professional matters are handled by professionals. Once Sean Knight laid out the possible scenarios, Elijah Hastings and the others went out to make plans.
Soon after, Elijah Hastings and the others came back, now fully armed.
Lincoln Harrington also brought a bulletproof vest for Sean Knight to wear.
"Boss, it’s easy to dodge the open spear but hard to guard against a hidden arrow."
Sean Knight heeded the advice and put on the bulletproof vest.
He knew that even though he had spiritual energy and many unique features, he was not invincible.
If he really got his head blown off by a shot, how could it possibly grow back?
Seeing Sean Knight put on the bulletproof vest, Elijah Hastings and the three of them breathed a sigh of relief, then said:
"We’ve discussed with Rainee Thomson and have arranged a large number of personnel inside the courtyard without alarming outsiders. If they dare to come, they’ll immediately fall into an ambush."
"For the other non-combatants in the Courtyard, we suggest hiding, preferably in the Basement," Lincoln Harrington said. "When the building was expanded, a Basement was included in the new structure. Though it may not be as comfortable as above, it’s secure."
Sean Knight nodded, indeed, that was the case. In times of crisis, comfort shouldn’t be the priority; safety came first.
"The three of us, and you, boss, should still show up from time to time," Douglas Cooper continued. "We’re not sure if there are informants for them outside.
But if we want to lure them in, the four of us are the bait. Of course, there’s no need to take risks, just showing up to let them know we’re around is enough."
When Sean Knight learned of the news, he thought about how to respond, with safety in mind, it was naturally safest to stay in the Courtyard.
But based on his decision, Elijah Hastings and the others were going on the offensive—since there might be enemies coming, they made sure to lure them in, then catch them in one fell swoop!
Sean Knight nodded; since they had already made such a decision, it showed that their plan was already very mature.
Seeing no objections from Sean Knight, Elijah Hastings and the others departed to execute their tasks.
Inside the House, through Sky Eye, Sean Knight could see non-combatants starting to move into the Basement.
From outside, it just looked as if someone came down from one building and then entered another Room.
You couldn’t tell it was a relocation.
In the end, even Cold Ice moved out.
Sean Knight put on a jacket over the close-fitting bulletproof vest and walked downstairs to the Entrance.
Cars occasionally passed by; with Sky Eye, Sean Knight could tell early on that these cars were unarmed locals just passing through.
After making a couple of rounds, Sean Knight went back inside.
"Boss, are you going to the Basement or taking a sniper position?" Elijah Hastings came over and asked Sean Knight.
"Sniping. I’m going to the Room next door," Sean Knight replied, "In my Room, let’s make it thrilling, give them a surprise!"
As long as he could take those guys out, Sean Knight didn’t mind rebuilding the building.
Having earned over a hundred billion, he could afford it!
