Chapter 1286: Chapter 642: You dared to snatch from me?
"Director Helen, hello." Sean Knight’s tone had slightly changed, and he gestured with two fingers up to Howard Richardson and Faye Shelton.
The two immediately understood that he was signaling them to keep quiet.
One could feel that Sean Knight was speaking very formally.
"Mr. Knight, hello. I have already conveyed your intentions to my superiors. We still have reservations, as if you were to purchase the 052DE, there will inevitably be objections from that region.
At the moment, we are very concerned about that sea territory and do not want to cause any disputes."
"Director Helen, I understand your concerns, but I think maybe we could consider it from another angle. To use the words of the Elderly, some folks are too mischievous and need a warning.
And behind that mischievous guy, there’s a big ox backing him up, which makes it hard for us to act too aggressively, right?
But my Big Island happens to be just beside that naughty fellow. If I build a port on the island and station a 052DE there, even if it flies my island’s flag, what do you think that mischievous one will feel? Won’t he feel like he’s sitting on pins and needles?"
With that said by Sean Knight, Director Helen indeed fell silent for a moment.
Sean Knight knew he had an opening and immediately struck while the iron was hot:
"Director Helen, just think about it. We’ve been keeping a low profile for so many years. Now do you know how the foreigners see us? To them, we are a colossus.
Many third-world countries are wondering why we don’t stand up for them—they expect us, as a developing country, to lead them.
We’ve reached such a level of strength that we can’t keep a low profile anymore. Everyone knows we are this strong; you can’t say you lack strength and expect others to believe it!
You also know I’ve got a composite brigade in the Middle East. Why? People think we’re powerful, so they want to cling to our coattails!
So, sometimes it doesn’t hurt to be a bit tough. The Americans keep causing trouble, selling weapons to Taiwan now and then, which ultimately drains our country’s money!
So you sell me the 052DE, and I park it there. If they want to create trouble, I’ll just send it out for a spin. Do you think the Americans will shiver? After all, I’m closer to Guam from my end than from domestic China, right?
Eagle Strike 21 is no vegetarian!"
Howard Richardson’s mouth hung open as he listened.
Why did it feel like big brother was talking about something too fantastical?
Was he here to listen to a story?
"Mr. Knight, you do have a point," Director Helen rarely agreed with Sean Knight’s view, "Alright, prepare the gold, and I will report back to the leadership."
"Don’t worry, Director Helen, I’ve had the 22 tons of gold ready for a while now. I can make the payment at any time."
After hanging up the phone call, Sean Knight saw Howard Richardson and Faye Shelton had completely stopped eating and just sat there gaping at him.
"What’s the deal? Eat up. It won’t taste good once it’s cold." Sean Knight was in a good mood, and his appetite had returned; he grabbed a piece of shelf meat and started gnawing on it, "This thing only looks nice; it’s not as tasty as barbecue."
"That’s amazing," Howard Richardson put down the bone he was holding and asked:
"Big brother, did you really create a composite brigade?"
"Yes. About half a year ago, the Crown Prince in the Middle East wanted me to build a bridge for our country to deploy a heavy brigade there, but there were too many reservations on our side, so it didn’t happen.
I have a big oil field over there. A bunch of numbskulls always wanted to swipe the field, and I couldn’t stand it, so I directly purchased a heavy composite brigade’s equipment, and then recruited a few thousand people from domestic China and pulled them over."
"Awesome!" Howard Richardson gave a thumbs up, "More than twenty tons of gold... just like that, you put it out there?"
"Hard currency these days," Sean Knight chuckled, "I’ve got US Dollars too. But since our country’s foreign exchange keeps flowing out, I prefer to spend it abroad and not bring it back home."
After they had finished eating, and Howard Richardson drove Sean Knight back to the Hotel, he then proceeded to take Faye Shelton home.
On the road, Faye Shelton asked Howard Richardson:
"Is everything big brother said true? It all seems so fantastical to me?"
"Don’t worry, just look it up online and you’ll know. If the information you find can string these matters together, that definitely confirms it.
Since big brother mentioned it out loud, it means these things can be looked up. However, keep your mouth shut, especially around your girlfriends, it’s better not to talk."
Despite the advice, Faye Shelton really did check when she got back.
The things Sean Knight mentioned weren’t particularly sensational news – either they were suppressed intentionally, so they hadn’t sparked much public debate.
But if one truly wanted to investigate, they could still find the information.
Gathering the fragments of information, Faye Shelton roughly understood that about eighty percent of what Sean Knight said was true.
The remaining twenty percent contained some matters that were even more exaggerated than what Sean Knight had described!
Faye Shelton appeared to be a very well-behaved girl on the surface, but she was actually very curious.
The problem was that Howard Richardson had warned her not to spread the word about Sean Knight’s affairs, and now she was extremely torn.
Knowing such earth-shattering secrets without the ability to share them was truly frustrating.
After Howard Richardson and others left, Sean Knight also came out of the Hotel.
He contacted a Room agency to make a full payment for a century-old Villa by the side of the Huangpu River.
This place had once belonged to an important person, and after changing hands several times, the previous owner had listed it for sale due to an investment failure.
When Sean Knight saw the Villa, with its exclusive entrance and secluded depth, the construction authority had even placed a "no modifications" card at the College Gate.
