Chapter 1277: Chapter 639 Became a Hot Commodity
After spending two days at the oil base, Sean Knight had a general understanding of the current state of the oil field.
The crude oil from the oil field was in high demand. After all, energy is always the lifeblood of industry, and considering the ongoing global situation was not particularly favorable, and China being a country with a huge demand for energy, the quality of the oil from Sean Knight’s oil field was exceptionally good.
Therefore, if it weren’t for his need to retain some crude oil for his own refinement, the three big oil companies of China would have taken all his oil.
Even if they couldn’t use it right away, reselling it would also yield a hefty profit.
So for Sean Knight, this oil field was like an ATM that never runs dry, earning enough funds every day to create an influential billionaire.
"Now I understand why the camel is so arrogant." In the brand new luxurious room, Douglas Cooper bit into fruit as he exclaimed, "We haven’t had this oil field for long, but we’ve already made so much money. Those who have been sprawling on oil fields for over a hundred years, imagine how much wealth they have accumulated!"
"That’s why they actively pay their party dues and cling to bigger legs, otherwise all that money becomes someone else’s."
Elijah Hastings also sighed:
"If it weren’t for the boss setting up a heavy combined brigade here, there would likely be no shortage of people wanting our oil field."
When the oil field was established, Sean Knight had mentioned that it included shares for the four of them.
While not substantial, the daily cash flow it provided was enough for Elijah Hastings and the others to lead a carefree life and achieve financial freedom typical of the middle class without doing anything else.
And that was just the money they received every day!
No wonder they were filled with amazement.
The heavy combined brigade has a battalion stationed here year-round, with regular rotations, but the strength remains largely unchanged.
All the expenses of the brigade were funded by the Royal Family, but Sean Knight’s influence could not be erased.
The soldiers were aware of the situation too, so it was actually very safe here.
"I’ve only just realized that the heavy combined brigade we’ve established here is still not substantial enough," remarked Sean Knight as he also enjoyed some fruit, "not enough emphasis on information technology..."
"There’s nothing we can do about that," said Lincoln Harrington, who had the most authority on this topic, "Although we could manage those integrated modules, the support from satellites and air support that come with it is just not feasible for this country."
"Boss, we can’t set our expectations too high," Douglas Cooper joked, "Just this one brigade is already causing some countries to lose sleep. If you really put together a standardized information brigade, the Americans would probably protest, accusing you of disrupting the peace here."
"Hahaha," Sean Knight laughed, fully aware that Abdullah knew this too, as did other countries.
While the brigade could not be compared to ones in China, here it was truly outstanding.
After spending a week at the oil field, Sean Knight visited his lithium mine in Africa to see how things were going.
It had been so long since his last visit that Sean Knight was no longer familiar with the situation there.
Fortunately, a security team of over 100 people, hired from a domestic security company, was stationed there.
So there were no concerns about security.
"We’ve repelled seven external attacks here," proclaimed the manager, Luo Hu, who had once served as a staff officer in the Red Army Division, "inflicting over forty casualties on the opponent while only nine of our men were injured, mostly due to stray bullets."
"Only injuries? That’s good to hear," nodded Sean Knight, "but still be careful. Since it’s so dangerous here, do you need a few armored vehicles brought over?"
"Yes, we do." Luo Hu’s eyes lit up at the mention of armored vehicles, "Our domestic Warriors would do, mount some machine guns on top, and the deterrent effect significantly increases!"
"Alright, I’ll arrange four Warriors and four armored vehicles for you," Sean Knight said:
"Whatever requirements you have in the future, just make a direct request to your superiors. You have autonomy in defending this place, and you understand the situation better than those above you. I only have two requirements: one is to protect the lithium mine, the engineers, technicians, and workers inside, and the other is to ensure your own safety."
While the lithium mine didn’t make as much money as the oil field, it was still a comparison. In fact, the profits from a lithium mine that had reached scale were comparable to those from a coal mine in Afghanistan.
And that was after sharing profits with the local tribe.
Hearing Sean Knight speak this way, Luo Hu’s earlier indecision and resentment dissipated immediately.
What more could he have said?
They had high wages, generous allowances, could handle guns, had freedom, and now, care from their boss. They had everything they needed, and though they could return home only once every six months, where else could they find such conditions?
After sorting things out, Sean Knight headed off to Big Island.
It was mainly because Lana Brown had mentioned that she had something important to discuss with him.
This trip, Elijah Hastings and the others didn’t accompany him as Sean Knight gave them leave.
Rescuing people in a war zone, although not for a long duration, was overly thrilling and risky for them. They had been tense throughout this period, so Sean Knight wanted to let them rest properly.
Lincoln Harrington stayed behind in Africa—his girlfriend was still working there.
Sean Knight could have easily found a different job for Wendy, Lincoln Harrington’s girlfriend.
But Marilyn Reynolds was specialized in this field and could only maximize her skills here.
As Lincoln Harrington spent most of the year traveling with Sean Knight, Wendy preferred not to stay at home.
