Chapter 1264: Chapter 634: Thrilling Confrontation_3

"Douglas, the third car to the right of your car, that white sedan, there are people ambushed inside. There are two people in the car. You get out and walk around in front of the car, and I’ll take care of them from behind."

Several youths near the sculpture pretend to be playing rough, with one of them disarming the timing device for Captain Wang.

Elijah Hastings didn’t give them any room to negotiate. Although he had prepared a full argument, it was completely unnecessary.

Sean Knight circled from a distance to the back of the parking lot, while Douglas Cooper got out of the car, took a stroll, and then approached the white car.

He knocked on the car window.

The car window rolled down, and Douglas Cooper, with a grin revealing his white teeth, asked,

"Got a light?"

The person inside was completely baffled.

Sean Knight had already reached the back of the car and stuffed something into the exhaust pipe.

Then he quietly left.

Sean Knight moved to a distance, looked around, and noticed that it was already getting dark and no one was around.

He said to Douglas Cooper,

"Douglas, you leave, don’t go back to the car just yet. Several of their people are moving this way. Make sure they don’t know which car is ours."

Douglas Cooper quickly caught on and quickly made his way to the other side of the park.

The people in the white car thought about taking Douglas Cooper out, but were afraid of alerting Elijah Hastings and the others, so they held back.

However, they reported the situation to the adults.

The adults weren’t surprised—if it was just Elijah Hastings alone, now that would’ve been a surprise.

Unnoticed, Sean Knight placed another motorcycle at the edge of the parking lot. He spoke to Douglas Cooper again,

"There’s a motorcycle in the parking lot, no license plate. When you leave later, ride that bike."

"Got it."

On their end, the youth disarmed Captain Wang’s timed explosive and unlocked his handcuffs before stowing the items in his backpack.

"We have done as requested. Can you give me the package now?" the adult said.

"Let the three of them go to the parking lot," Elijah Hastings said with an unwavering expression. "I do not wish to repeat myself!"

The adult had no choice but to gesture resignedly, and Captain Wang quickly led his wife and nudged his son, heading towards the parking lot.

Though he knew Elijah Hastings was dangerous, he also knew not to waste the opportunity Elijah Hastings had risked his life to create.

Wang Tianlei followed his father to the parking lot, reluctantly.

Sean Knight, who had circled back, noticed Wang Tianlei signaling the girl who had used the walkie-talkie earlier; the girl’s frustrated expression immediately returned to normal.

"Later, you guys leave by car, and don’t worry about me. If you can’t contact me, meet up in that courtyard at the end!"

Sean Knight whispered in the headset, "There’s something off inside. Don’t worry, I value my life highly and won’t run into trouble."

Elijah Hastings and the others didn’t try to persuade him further.

It wasn’t Sean Knight’s first time acting alone, and they had to admit that in some aspects, he was indeed much stronger than them.

Watching Captain Wang and his family approaching the parking lot, suddenly Elijah Hastings said,

"You’d better call back those few people you have ambushed. I can’t guarantee that my people won’t get agitated and do something rash over there!"

As soon as Elijah Hastings said this, the adult’s complexion changed. But he said nothing.

Elijah Hastings, seeing that the adult still harbored hope, spoke directly into the headset,

"Lincoln, take out that dog!"

As soon as the words fell, a dog’s yelp came from the other side!

Their faces all turned pale!

Two girls glared at Elijah Hastings with fiery eyes!

"This is just a warning," Elijah Hastings said. "Next time, I can’t guarantee what I’ll aim at!"

Captain Wang and his family successfully reached the front of the car, and the adult commanded the three people near the car, who finally stopped in their tracks.

At the car, Captain Wang and his family seemed to have an argument, until Elijah Hastings vaguely saw the Captain slap Wang Tianlei before the three of them got into the car.

What Sean Knight said to Douglas Cooper, Elijah Hastings could also hear.

So, as he saw the three get into the car, he nodded slowly and reached out with the leather bag.

The adult breathed a sigh of relief.

This Holy Relic was extremely important to them, it would determine if they could carry out the next major plan.

If the scepter was damaged, then all their efforts would have been for naught.

The car suddenly charged towards them, causing everyone to tense up immediately.

The car drove up the pedestrian path in the park, drawing attention from some people in the distance.

"Don’t be nervous," Elijah Hastings said with a smile. "You wouldn’t want others to notice what’s happening here, would you? Relax, this car is coming to pick me up. Once I get in, the leather bag is yours, and we will leave, just like that!"

The adult gestured, stopping several young people who were about to draw their guns.

"I hope you will keep your promise."

"Rest assured, we Chinese people value our word more than you do!" Elijah Hastings retorted.

Although, between the two confronting parties, Elijah Hastings had more sympathy for the adults, on the specific issue involving Captain Wang, he didn’t think those few were in the right.

Sean Knight saw the car swerve while it was moving, as Wang Tianlei attempted to seize the steering wheel but was elbowed away by Lincoln Harrington and then restrained by Captain Wang.

As the car approached Elijah Hastings, it slowed down slightly, and Elijah Hastings tossed the leather bag to the adult.

The adult caught the bag, opened it to see the scepter was intact, looked up about to say something, but then saw a black object being thrown out!

"Be careful!"

On seeing the hand grenade, several people reflexively scattered and threw themselves to the ground, including the person who was painting.

However, after seven or eight seconds, the hand grenade that rolled on the ground became silent, and they immediately knew—they’d been tricked!

"Chase!" the adult shouted, but the white car in the parking lot had already started—though after revving a few times, it died!

That was awkward!

"No worries, we planted a tracker, they won’t get lost!" the adult reassured the others, who looked dejected. "Plus, he won’t disappoint us!"

From a distance, Sean Knight heard the adult’s words.

He chuckled coldly and left the park.

Since they weren’t chasing, and Douglas Cooper had also ridden away on the motorcycle, there was no need for him to stay any longer.
