Chapter 1255: Chapter 631 Not Everyone Deserves Sympathy_3

Sean Knight laughed. It’s common knowledge that Xinjiang is vast, but those who haven’t experienced it firsthand truly can’t grasp it. The widest part of Xinjiang spans 1,900 kilometers.

When he first went out to school in the coastal region, he could reach a new metropolis every two hours by bus, like from Nanjing City to Shanghai, or from Shanghai to Suzhou, and so on.

But in Xinjiang, two hours would, at best, take you from Yining to Xinyuan Nalati, or from Yining to Chauncey, just traveling within a single prefecture.

Back in the day, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was quite remarkable, and of course, so were his generals. He sent 10,000 men from Chang’an City straight to Dawan Country, that is, the current Central Asian countries!

"I’ve read about it, I’ve read about it," Douglas Cooper raised his hand, "Not just that, there’s this saying too, that it takes seven years to get out of Xinjiang, and then you discover there’s still Gansu to cross with a span of over 1,300 kilometers, another seven years..."

Elijah Hastings took a few bites of his bread, took a breather, and continued:

"Then, let’s say the German leader is highly motivated and takes another seven years to get through Gansu, only to face Inner Mongolia, stretching 2,400 kilometers long... The leader would just look up at a 45-degree angle to the sky, unable to hold back his tears..."

"Hahaha..." Lincoln Harrington had never heard this cold joke before and really burst into laughter, interjecting, "Then next up would be the Greater and Lesser Khingan ranges..."

"The whole area of Europe is just a bit larger than our country," Sean Knight said with a smile. "So over there, when they wage war, for us, it’s like the Seven Warring States fighting among themselves."

After the jokes were over, it was time to move on.

"Boss, how long do you plan to stay in that city?" Elijah Hastings asked.

"One night, maybe, if things go smoothly, possibly one hour," Sean Knight looked ahead as he spoke.

"Do you need our help?"

"No need. When the time comes, you guys park the car outside the city, and I’ll go in alone. I’ll come find you when I exit. Don’t worry, it will be quick on my side," Sean Knight said. "While you wait for me, you’d better find a place to hide. If not absolutely necessary, do not fire your guns."

"Understood."

There was still a checkpoint before entering the city.

However, the convergence of vehicles here wasn’t as numerous, and the situation seemed not as tense.

In the car next door, people were still joking and laughing.

When Sean Knight and his group arrived at the checkpoint, it was still Sean Knight who took the lead, passing through the checkpoint quite smoothly.

However, shortly after they passed, gunshots suddenly rang out from behind.

Douglas Cooper stuck his head out of the sunroof to look back and then reported the situation:

"The checkpoint has been attacked, black smoke rising—don’t know if it’s a suicide bomber or an ambush..."

Regardless, they drove quickly to the edge of the city.

But by now, a large quantity of military vehicles was passing by in the direction of the checkpoint. Sean Knight’s vision was good enough to see that temporary checkpoints had been added on the main road.

Clearly, there would be another search before entering the city.

Sean Knight directed Lincoln Harrington to take the car onto a back road, before he got out of the car.

"Boss, be careful!" the three men in the car said.

"Don’t worry." In front of them, Sean Knight slowly changed his face into that of a local.

"Awesome!" Although they all knew Sean Knight had this trick up his sleeve, Elijah Hastings and the others couldn’t help but admire it when seeing it in person.

Sean Knight, with his backpack on, waved at them and walked toward the city.

Elijah Hastings and the others quickly drove the car into the alley, then got out, and found an abandoned courtyard to hide in.

Sean Knight didn’t take the main road but passed several streets and, seeing no one around, took out a motorcycle and drove on.

He had thoroughly studied the address given by Pang Du, as well as the city’s layout.

Although, he couldn’t understand the text on the street signs, he knew the roads — turning left and right, it took him almost half an hour to reach the location of the warehouse described by Pang Du.

It was an old-style building with eleven stories.

The location was remote, so he saw no one at the entrance. Clearly, whether due to war or some other reason, not many people were working here.

Upon entering the building, Sean Knight saw a middle-aged security guard seated at the entrance.

As the guard took notice of Sean Knight, he quickly stood up, but Sean Knight nonchalantly knocked him unconscious.

Sean Knight propped up the security guard, sat him on the baton, adjusted his hat to make him look as if he were sleeping, and then took the elevator to the seventh floor.

The entire seventh floor had been converted into a warehouse, storing a large quantity of cultural relics that the Davena family had acquired from the Middle East and African regions.

Exiting the elevator, Sean Knight saw two elderly men dressed as security guards, with batons clipped to their waist, sitting at a table browsing their mobile phones.

Upon seeing Sean Knight come in, the two elderly men looked surprised.

After a moment of shock, one of the elderly men drew his baton and began angrily saying something to Sean Knight.

Unintelligible.

Sean Knight swept his hand, spraying a handful of medicine powder onto the faces of the two elderly men.

The elderly men passed out immediately.

Too weak a resistance.

Of course, this was only one of the hurdles.

The most secure measure was not these two men but the alloy gate of the warehouse.

The reason for only having two old men guarding was merely for the purpose of raising an alarm as soon as possible.

If someone came to rob the place, they would primarily face this half-meter-thick door equipped with three codes and also requiring a key to unlock.

The wall adjacent was also reinforced; apart from the external bricks, the inside was lined with alloy as well.

So, breaking in by force would be quite hard—not to mention the last code required a face scan of the core members of the Davena family—among the few who manage the warehouse.

So now, Sean Knight immediately took on the appearance of Pang Du.

He retrieved the key copied from Pang Du from his spatial realm and unlocked the first door, revealing the password lock inside.

Sean Knight remembered Pang Du mentioning that if the code was entered incorrectly three times, the entire building’s alarm would sound, and the elevators would lock down.

Self-destruct features were out of the question.

The Davena family took great care of their belongings.

After entering the code and unlocking the door, the last step was the face scan.

Sean Knight was slightly nervous.

Success or failure hung in the balance!
