Chapter 1252: Chapter 630: What a Coincidence_3
She rarely glared at Sean Knight. "How could you come up with such an idea?"
Sean Knight just laughed:
"What I said wasn’t real. I was just teaching Tahali how to test Pang Du, while also making it clear to Tahali’s elders that this is a test."
He slowly said:
"If Pang Du passes the test, then it means he is worthy of trust. If he doesn’t pass, I think Tahali will give up on him."
Upon hearing this, Tahali’s face showed a complex expression.
Aria Wilson said nothing more.
The main reason she firmly disagreed was that she felt Pang Du wasn’t as reliable as Sean Knight.
If Tahali really eloped, and she ended up living unhappily with her reputation ruined, the rest of her life could be very miserable.
However, since Sean Knight said it was a test, it might really be carried out.
Ultimately, Tahali left the villa without saying another word.
"Alright, let’s not worry about her. If she’s smart, she’ll make the right choice." Seeing that Aria didn’t speak, Sean Knight said with a smile, "Don’t forget, she has parents and brothers."
Aria nodded her head.
The second day, the two of them said goodbye to Abdullah and a group of friends and family, left the Royal City, and went to Xinjiang.
Sean’s mother was truly delighted to see Sean Knight bring Aria over.
"Aria, just make yourself comfortable here. When there’s nothing urgent, I will take you around the County Town, to the markets, any entertainment or sights you want, just tell me," she offered.
Sean Knight immediately took on the role of a driver.
Of course, he was more than happy to do so.
A few days later, at night, Aria quietly told Sean Knight:
"Dear, Tahali called me, crying."
"What does that mean? Did Pang Du dump her?" Sean Knight asked curiously, his arms around Aria.
Aria snuggled closer to Sean Knight and said:
"Tahali really took your advice and ran to tell Pang Du she wanted to elope with him, and he agreed.
Then Tahali accidentally overheard Pang Du making a phone call to his brother, talking about taking Tahali to America first, then negotiating terms with her family.
Tahali was furious. She couldn’t believe Pang Du had such a plan... In the end, she broke up with him. She was crying so miserably when she called me..."
"It’s okay, she’ll stop crying after a time or two. She should be celebrating, after all; she almost fell into the hands of a scumbag."
"I’m really lucky..." Aria hugged Sean Knight tighter, "Compared to them, I’m truly fortunate."
"Wrong, you married a scumbag too; you just can’t escape him..." Sean Knight said, playfully rubbing her nose, "Just stay put here obediently!"
"I’m thinking of inviting Tahali over to clear her head," Aria changed the subject, proposing.
"Sure," Sean Knight said with a smile, "But not everyone is like you; they may not adapt to the rural life here. After all, this is not a city, and the life you used to live is totally different from here."
"I understand," said Aria confidently, "I just hope she can be a little happier."
"It’s up to you," Sean Knight was indifferent.
As the Chinese traditional saying goes, it’s just another pair of chopsticks.
Before Aria arrived, it was a phone call from Elijah Hastings that disrupted Sean Knight’s plans for a holiday.
"Boss, we need to take leave," Elijah said, already in Urumqi.
"The three of you?" Sean Knight knew there must be trouble when he heard "you guys."
"Yes," Elijah said somberly, "We’re going to the conflict area to rescue people."
"Rescue whom?" Sean Knight was curious; who could prompt his three strongest subordinates to join a rescue mission?
"Our new soldier platoon leader," Elijah explained briefly. "He opted for civilian life two years ago. His son went to university in Tel Aviv, graduating this year. So he went over there with his wife to travel and attend the graduation.
They planned to leave afterwards, but his son had a girlfriend, and they stayed a bit longer. And now... they’re trapped."
Damn it!
Sean Knight couldn’t help but swear.
That’s quite unlucky.
"Can you get in touch now? Aren’t our embassy continuously contacting people over there? If they are willing to leave, will they coordinate with the relevant departments to get them out?"
"The last contact was a few days ago," Elijah reported. "After that, we lost touch. The platoon leader is very close to us. Without him, we wouldn’t have achieved what we have now. So..."
"Have you planned your operation route? Just the three of you?"
"Yes," explained Elijah, "The route is planned. We three are small targets, easy to move. There are other comrades who want to join, but unlike us three. After they left the army, they pretty much lost their basic skills. We three are different..."
Sean Knight of course understood what he meant.
"Here’s the plan. Add me to your team. Also, pick a few more team members with strong capabilities," Sean Knight gave some thought to the address Pang Du had mentioned, feeling slightly tempted, "Let’s go together. Having more people might help in case of trouble."
"Boss, you really shouldn’t go," Elijah, knowing his boss was more capable than all three of them, tried to dissuade him.
"I have other matters there, it’s convenient," Sean Knight replied. "Don’t worry, I value my life more than you guys."
As Sean Knight had made up his mind, Elijah and the others did not try to persuade him further.
For such matters, Sean Knight did not disclose the true situation to his family or Aria.
Moreover, due to Aria’s presence, Sean Knight was practically a ’tool man’ at home, so his parents didn’t object to his departure.
After all, they had assigned drivers, and his absence would hardly be felt.
Aria, too, was used to Sean Knight’s intermittent absences, only reminding him to be careful.
"When Tahali and the others come over, if they can’t get used to it here, take them to Urumqi for a spin. If they want to go further, let them do it themselves; just provide a guide from our side," Sean Knight instructed before leaving:
"Don’t you go too far either."
"I know," said Aria softly.
When Sean Knight arrived in Urumqi and met up with Elijah and the others, they took an airplane to a country neighboring the war zone.
The thrilling action was about to begin.
