Chapter 1244: Chapter 628: I brought them back!

He heard the noise from outside—it seemed something had happened on Elijah’s side.

Indeed, something had happened.

When Elijah and his team reached the first Courtyard and planned to peek into the Room that seemed to be breathing, they encountered a big black dog.

The dog stood about 1.2 meters at the shoulder and looked to weigh at least 50 to 60 kilograms. Its fierce eyes stared at Elijah and his companion; it didn’t show any sign of being intimidated despite being outnumbered.

What puzzled Elijah was that the dog did not bark; it just opened its mouth low and slowly advanced towards them!

"Wow, this dog... seems like it’s eaten live prey before. Look at how it watches us both, just as if we were Food!" Douglas said in a low voice to Elijah, not the least bit worried.

"You’re up?" Elijah turned his head and asked.

"Sure," Douglas clicked his tongue with pity: "It’s a shame to waste so much meat, it might have eaten a live person, so the meat is wasted..."

The moment Elijah turned his head, the dog lowered its stance and lunged furiously! Its jaw wide open, if it managed to knock Elijah down, it could clamp onto his throat and tear open his windpipe!

This move, apparently, was something the black dog was used to executing with practiced ease!

If an ordinary person were faced with such a ferocious attack, they would likely have been immediately brought down!

Elijah turned his head, slightly shifted his body to the side, and dodged the lunge. Douglas reached to his waist, flashed a knife, and met the dog’s charge—the dog’s neck seemed to willingly offer itself onto Douglas’s blade!

"Splurt!"

A spurt of blood shot out from the black dog’s neck!

The dog had never imagined it would encounter such a fierce enemy. Previously, those weaker creatires would fall silent at its pounce and bite, allowing it to tear and eat them at will.

But these two men today...

By the time the dog thought to bark, it was already too late. Douglas’s knife was extremely vicious; not only had it severed the blood vessels, but it had also slit the windpipe. The dog could only make a wheezing sound.

While Douglas was wiping his knife, his left hand wasn’t idle either—he directly grabbed the dog’s spine, and the dog was left to bleed out.

Although the dog made no noise, the spray of blood still resulted in some noise from Inside the house.

"What to do?" Douglas asked Elijah somewhat helplessly.

"What else can we do? Take care of it. We definitely can’t withdraw," Elijah pointed at the blood and said, "The person who comes out is bound to discover it. Deal with everyone, then call the boss. It’s best if we clean up this place tonight."

The guards Inside the Room quickly got dressed and after discussing, opened the door.

Two people came out, and there were still two Inside.

And there were a total of eight people in this Courtyard.

The other four in another Room didn’t seem to realize what was happening outside.

Which was normal. After all, there had been quite a few alarms from the front entrance, and the Surrounding Wall was equipped with advanced technological measures.

A few years ago, there were several At-night intrusions, and the invaders were spotted before they even scaled the wal.

The people were directly caught and sent to the Police Station, and afterwards, no one came again.

Long-standing peace naturally leads to complacency.

Before the Room door opened, Douglas had already bent down to lay the dog down, put away his Knife, and moved with Elijah to the side of the door.

Their footsteps were very light, undetected by those inside.

The first man to come out was carrying a baton at his waist, still muttering something dissatisfied.

As soon as he exited the door, Elijah grabbed him and pulled him forward, and before he could react, a palm chop struck his carotid artery, his eyes rolled back, and he passed out.

Douglas duplicated the same method, dealing with the second person as well.

Then, they entered the Room.

On Sean’s side, there was no worry for Elijah and Douglas; he paused only briefly before continuing to open the Basement door and entered.

The air inside was not foul, and there was no dust on the ground, indicating frequent traffic.

Walking down the Stairs to the bottom, passing through a wooden door, he saw the Shelves displayed.

The distinct aura of ancient China antiques hit him in the face!

Sean didn’t turn on the lights; he just looked around.

Just on the Shelves with intact relics not from salvage operations, there were at least 500 pieces!

The majority were porcelain, from blue and white to colored glaze, from official kiln to Min Kiln, and some clearly had foreign Patterns that seemed to be export porcelain.

Then came the metal, stone, and Jade artifacts, each in its own category. Bronze from Shang to Qin and Han; Gold and silver, from jewelry to ingots; Jade ware, from ancient to modern—all in a rich variety.

Looking through Sky Eye, Sean could see items that definitely qualified as National Treasures. For example, a Bird-shaped Bronze Vessel from the Shang Dynasty, Sean guessed it must relate to the legend of "Heavenly Command, the mysterious bird, descended to bring forth Shang," and it had several characters on it.

Although Sean couldn’t recognize the script, he understood that this artifact was absolutely a National Treasure!

Of course, such treasures were rare even in this collection.

Beyond these Shelves, there were even more salvaged cultural relics.

What surprised Sean was that, within the salvaged items, there was a space of about thirty to forty square meters dedicated to Middle Ages Western Realm iron boxes.

Looking through Sky Eye, the iron boxes contained irregular Gold and Silver Coins and gold and silver jewelry; some were even just rough Gold and Silver Ingots.

However, Sean quickly realized.

These salvaged relics likely came from the South Sea.

And those Gold and Silver Coins were probably from there as well.
