Chapter 1243: Chapter 627: You Said It, but I Didn’t Agree - The Scumbag to the End_3

"And indeed, the bosses of those major auction houses are their honored guests,"

With that, Sean Knight understood.

"So, act at once."

"Continue the investigation. The focus now is on the Davna family at the core region of Kuala Lumpur, which includes where their family members live, and other important guarded locations,"

After arranging the mission, Sean planned his own action.

That night, Elijah Hastings and Douglas cooper set out, planning a nocturnal exploration of that courtyard.

Lincoln Harrington and his team planned to rest, and would inquire about the Davna family’s core region the next day.

Elijah and his team left at midnight. Sean set out a little later than them to a different location—one of the addresses provided by Maramart.

Although the flow of people in Kuala Lumpur had decreased at night, hailing a taxi was still quite convenient.

Sean slightly altered his appearance and flagged down a taxi, reporting the address. The driver silently took him there.

To Sean’s surprise, the taxi stopped in a remote location near the suburbs.

After Sean got out of the car, the taxi driver reminded him,

"Sir, it’s not very safe here. If you have no business, don’t stay too long."

While Sean pondered the meaning behind the driver’s words, the taxi had already sped away.

He quickly sensed danger—the gazes of many ill-intentioned individuals were fixated on him.

Directly looking around, there seemed to be no one.

Upon opening Sky Eye, Sean found that many peering eyes were watching him from inside the ragged houses nearby.

Among these people were adults and children, men and women.

Even some elderly people, watching Sean, had greedy expressions on their faces!

This place was indeed a breeding ground for evil!

However, the combat prowess of these people was truly negligible; Sean was not worried. He discerned the direction and walked towards the target house.

It was a dilapidated two-story building, the door firmly locked. Sean noticed there were traces where someone had tried to knock in the past, but clearly, they hadn’t managed to break the lock.

Looking inside with Sky Eye, there were no guards.

This puzzled Sean.

"Why is he standing there, staring at that ominous building?"

Someone whispered in a low voice.

"Don’t worry about him... if he wants to go in, let him. If he doesn’t, then later..."

Someone revealed an evil grin.

Sean, using his Sky Eye, probed the small building and discovered it didn’t contain those cultural relics.

Maramart was indeed unreliable, or perhaps, the Davna family had never trusted him in the first place.

Since it wasn’t the target, Sean turned and left.

He decided to give up on the addresses provided by Maramart.

But just as he was about to leave, two men with unfriendly faces, each carrying a stick, approached him.

"Since you’re here, don’t leave," one of them said with a smile, "You should leave something behind anyway."

Sean glanced at the two men, ignored them, and turned to leave.

The one who had spoken smiled slightly, catching up with the stick raised, ready to strike Sean!

"Bang!"

The stick had just been lifted when Sean turned and kicked, sending him flying out and toppling the person behind him as well.

The child of a thousand gold cannot sit in a temple; Sean knew he had been careless.

After dealing with the two, without waiting for a reaction from the others, Sean quickly left.

After walking through two blocks, with more traffic on the road, Sean hailed a cab and headed to the location where Elijah and his team were doing reconnaissance, that courtyard.

He wanted to see what was truly in the storeroom.

By this time, Elijah and his team had already entered the courtyard.

"I didn’t expect these guys to be so cunning, putting sensors on the college wall! If it weren’t for Captain Hastings’s alertness, we might have been discovered,"

"Haven’t you noticed our vision has improved recently? Actually, your mission was too successful, making you careless," Elijah said, keeping a vigilant eye on the surroundings, "Be careful, there’s the scent of dog activity around. They might have a dog."

"Did you bring the medicine powder?" Douglas whispered, "Without it, dogs are troublesome to deal with."

The two stealthily approached the rooms inside the courtyard.

These were all single-story houses, but many in number, resembling the Triple-entry Quadrangle of China.

As Sean jumped the wall, he immediately noticed the presence of Elijah and his team.

However, they were at another row of houses, apparently eavesdropping on something.

Sean simply changed direction and headed for the last row of houses.

Soon, he discovered he had indeed found the right place.

To all appearances, this row of houses was normal. However, the second house had a hidden basement, which was very large and seemed to have been there originally, then remodeled.

With four to five hundred square meters, near the entrance were shelves with various antiques and cultural relics displayed on them.

Further inside, the antiques were arranged by section.

What made Sean sigh and feel angry was that the majority of the items here were Chinese cultural relics!

He could also tell that the shelves held the boutique items, while the majority inside were salvaged from the sea.

The house was locked, but that was not a problem for Sean.

He took out an extremely thin blade from his spatial realm, slipped it through the window slit, and carefully worked for a long time to pry the window open.

He was also thankful that the windows were old-fashioned; if they had been newer models, they would have been difficult to deal with.

After opening the window, Sean didn’t immediately jump in.

Because on the window, several fine iron wires were stretched—probably part of the alarm system.

This did not trouble Sean either. He closely examined the wires and the connected equipment—the device ultimately needed electricity.

Locating the alarm box hidden beneath the window sill, Sean took out a toy plastic pellet gun from the spatial realm, aimed at the switch on the angled power strip, and fired.

After three shots, the power to the power strip was cut, Sean tore off the wires, and slipped through.

Indeed, the alarm did not sound.

Next was to unlock the door to the basement.

The mechanism lock was not challenging at all for Sean under the observation of Sky Eye.

Sean stopped in front of the door,
