Chapter 1221: Chapter 620: Just Let You Dislike Me Without Being Able to Do Anything About It_2
His primary concern was to listen to what the people inside were saying.
"...If everything goes smoothly, these items should arrive at the airport tomorrow. But getting out won’t be so easy."
"Don’t worry, I’ve already obtained the pass for transporting this batch to the Middle East. The airport checks here aren’t as strict as you think, and they don’t pay much attention to these items, so we have ways to get them on the plane."
"But how will you get them back to Europe from the Middle East? Aren’t our buyers in Europe?"
"Who said we’re actually sending the items to the Middle East?"
"You said you got a pass for the Middle East."
"I got a pass for the Middle East doesn’t mean I’m actually going to send the items there. Understand?"
"Oh... Understand. By the way, how much money are you planning to give those people in Kandahar? Without their ’help,’ these items couldn’t have been transported out so smoothly."
"Why should I give them money? Weren’t they already paid when we transported the items out?"
"But I remember you promised them half the money after the items were transported out and sold..."
"Heh, that was just to fool them. Splitting the money with them after we get it, wouldn’t that be foolish?
They’ve already received what they deserve; as for the final payment, let them wait for it!"
"Cunning Ronald Stone! But I like it! This way we don’t have to give out so much!"
"Who said my name is Ronald Stone? Once we get to the airport tomorrow, my name will be Rowe, remember that I’m called Rowe!"
"Alright, alright, you’re Rowe. Regardless of what you call yourself, just remember to give me my share of the money.
Enough talk, I’m going to sleep, this place is really damn bad! Once we get the money, I want to stay at a five-star hotel!"
"Rest assured, forget five-star hotels, once we get the money, you can afford to stay in seven-star hotels every day!"
Seeing that the two had no intention of chatting any longer, Sean Knight quietly opened the package of sleeping powder and sprinkled it inside.
To avoid making noise that would disturb the others below while moving the items, Sean Knight was quick to sprinkle a few more packs of sleeping powder around the rooms on this side as well.
Downstairs, Elijah Hastings and the others had already cut the ropes on the pickup truck, and in pairs, they carried the big boxes, tiptoeing towards the outskirts of the small town.
Although the boxes were big, they weren’t heavy, so they moved quickly. When Sean Knight came out, one pickup truck had already been emptied.
Sean Knight picked up a box and quickly moved to the front of the team.
"It’s good enough to move them into that forest ahead. You don’t need to worry about the rest."
Sean Knight’s initial plan was to move the items onto his own pickup truck and leave overnight.
But upon reflection, that would leave too many traces, making it easy for the opposition to follow, and might even blow the situation out of proportion, so he had decided to use his spatial realm to solve the problem.
One hour later, all the items from the pickup truck had been moved to a forest two hundred meters from the small town.
"I’ll contact the people who will transport these items," Sean Knight told Elijah Hastings and the others. "When you return to the inn from here, clean up the traces and then go back to your rooms to sleep."
Elijah Hastings and his team were accustomed to Sean Knight’s way of handling things and silently left the forest.
When they left the forest, they also cleared the traces of their coming and going movements.
Finally, watching through Sky Eye to see that everyone had returned to the small town, Sean Knight then gathered all the boxes into his spatial realm.
He had actually noticed earlier that among the items in the boxes, there was one that contained a powerful energy, its purity no less than the much-coveted sheepskin book he was after.
It was a wooden staff that appeared to be over a thousand years old, without a single sign of rot.
However, now was not the time to study this artefact. After storing the boxes, Sean Knight quickly cleared up the traces left behind and scattered a handful of odor-masking medicine powder before leaving.
He was growing fonder of using various powders to aid his actions.
They were convenient and reliable and also saved a lot of manpower and resources.
It was just that the preparation was a bit troublesome. Although he had the recipes, some of the ingredients were not easy to find.
Upon returning to the inn, he found that the receptionist was still sleeping. Sean Knight smiled and then returned to his room and lay down.
Actually, the rooms in this inn were quite nice, not at all as bad as the person had said earlier.
Clean and tidy, the decor might not be luxurious, but the bed was very comfortable.
Sean Knight knew his standards weren’t high, but he had no desire to change anything; it was good enough as it was.
With the issue resolved, Sean Knight’s mind was at ease, and he quickly fell asleep.
As expected, it was the crazy commotion coming from outside the window that woke him up.
His window was left open, and with his keen hearing, the cursing and the sounds of guns being cocked were piercingly loud in the quiet morning.
Sean Knight got up and looked out the window, only to see a group of about a dozen people, their heads wrapped in headscarves and dressed in robes, standing around the pickup truck talking heatedly about something.
Their faces were exposed as their headscarves had come undone, revealing white features.
They were arguing with the inn’s boss and the waiter.
More and more locals from the small town were gathering around, and upon seeing their appearances, joined the fray, siding with the boss to confront these people.
At first, the boss was desperately defending himself. After all, there were guards in the pickup truck by default, and the loss of items couldn’t be entirely blamed on the inn.
