Chapter 1176: Chapter 605: Those Who Are Not of Our Kind Must Have Different Hearts!

The battle erupted suddenly. Douglas Cooper led his team, and after getting the detailed arrangements from Sean Knight’s side and learning about the traps on the road down the mountain, he let the original team members lead the way towards the mining area.

Elijah Hastings took another team member with him and joined Lincoln Harrington to capture Antony Carter in the small town.

Meanwhile, Sean Knight was still positioned at the very back to wrap things up.

He was helpless but had no other choice. Although he had been down there once before, in the eyes of the others, he was still an amateur.

The primary objectives this time were to take control of the mining area and those people from Japan.

Once the team members entered the mining area, two went to the entrance to take out the guards, and another two went to watch over the miners in the warehouse, while the rest infiltrated the small building.

Sean Knight, with a team member, went around to the back of the building, knowing that the rooms where those few Japanese stayed had windows. It wasn’t impossible for them to wake up and escape by jumping out.

Sean Knight continuously observed with Sky Eye, and capturing the first Japanese in his room went smoothly, prying open the door to arrest him and then slipping out quietly.

The whole process was virtually noiseless.

However, when they reached the room of the second Japanese, just as several people entered, a piercing alarm suddenly rang out. The Japanese inside sprang up, not even having time to put on his clothes, and immediately opened the window to jump out!

Before Sean Knight could react to what was happening, that guy had already landed on the ground!

The team member’s reaction was a bit slower than his, but by the time the person hit the ground, Sean Knight had already reacted, stepping forward to kick the man over.

This was a short-haired man, about thirty years old, around 167 or 168 centimeters tall, not very tall but looking energetic.

Knocked down again by Sean Knight’s kick, his head was spinning, but he still knew to try to escape, which was in vain as the team member from above had already jumped down, pinning him to the ground and tying him up.

However, the ringing of the alarm immediately alerted everyone else, making the subsequent captures a bit more troublesome.

Suddenly, gunshots rang out from the warehouse. Sean Knight looked over and saw that some miners had tried to rush out but were pushed back by the team member blocking the door. When one of the miners suddenly lashed out to attack the team member, he didn’t hesitate to shoot him in the leg. The shot that took down the miner also scared the rest of them back.

The small building quickly echoed with gunfire. The Japanese man with glasses, surprisingly agile, didn’t try to escape through the window when the alarm went off; instead, he started burning documents.

As Douglas Cooper led people to pry open the door, the man shot through the wooden door at them. If the team member hadn’t been wearing a bulletproof vest, and since the bullets were shot through the door, that team member might have been severely injured.

As he was shooting outside and burning items, Sean Knight watched through Sky Eye, realizing this guy was probably the boss. Looking at the glass window, he came up with a plan, ran to the window, and first smashed a big hole in the glass with a stone. When the man was startled, Sean Knight threw in a stun grenade.

The man thought it was a hand grenade, grabbed it intending to throw it back out, but he didn’t expect that Sean Knight had counted a few seconds before throwing it. The grenade exploded in his hand, and the man rolled his eyes back, passing out.

As the gunfire ceased, Douglas Cooper immediately led people into the room, saw the man unconscious on the floor, and then saw the big hole in the window, realizing it was the boss’s handiwork.

"Boss, he’s passed out. Tie him up," Douglas Cooper shouted outside, then had the man carried out.

"There are quite a few documents here. I’ll sort them out" Douglas Cooper continued. "This guy might be the leader."

Sean Knight thought to himself that it was obvious, or else why would he attack from the back?

Douglas Cooper found a lot of documents in various languages. Not rushing to find a translator, he put them in a big bag and took them out.

The fight in the small building ended quickly, with only one team member slightly injured, while the rest were unscathed.

After hearing the continuous gunshots, the miners in the warehouse quieted down. They weren’t stupid; with team members blocking the door, it was evident they were meant to stay out of the outside affairs. After the instigating miner was shot, the team member did not continue shooting but asked the other miners to bandage them up.

This miner who had caused trouble was actually a newly appointed team leader, designated by the Japanese, so naturally, he sided with the Japanese. But the others were different; they were just there to work for money. Who they worked for didn’t matter, right?

Since the team members only blocked the door and didn’t kill anyone, the miners figured it must be about the mine.

The miners weren’t foolish either; they were aware that there must be some trickery involved with the changing hands of the mining site, so they calmed down as well.

The gunshots at the mining site caught the attention of the people outside. Some went to the big iron door to watch; seeing two team members tying up the guards and standing guard at the door, they realized the site was about to change hands again.

After capturing several key figures, the situation generally stabilized.

Without any threats remaining, Sean Knight had Edward Shermer brought over.

Edward Shermer was now excited. Having had his nutrition supplemented and energy transferred to him by Sean Knight, his health had improved significantly.

With Edward Shermer present, the miners had no more doubts. Shermer was the person they saw most often. Though he had been under house arrest for some time, that was because he wouldn’t open the safe holding the gold—the Japanese had come over under the pretense of visiting and cooperation at first.
