Chapter 1163: Chapter 600: It’s still best to finish early and quietly! _3

Elijah Hastings nodded silently, driving without saying a word.

Sean Knight had already counted, and this time the additional auctions he "carried" over amounted to roughly one thousand five hundred cultural relics.

Among them were nearly four hundred Chinese cultural relics, constituting a tremendously large sum.

These included National Treasure level cultural relics, which were truly frightening!

Even the cultural relics from ancient Egypt, the Maya Tribe, and the Middle East had some impressive pieces.

The people behind the scenes would probably go insane after losing these items!

Sean Knight knew he might also be a suspect.

His original plan was not only to make the others lose these items but also to take back the Money.

However, because the flow of funds was now electronic and quite troublesome, Sean eventually abandoned this plan.

It was best not to leave any more loopholes for himself.

If something that went so perfectly and took such advantage, were spoiled by doing this one thing, that would indeed be a loss that was not worth the gain.

"Boss, are we taking the airplane to leave today?" Elijah asked as they nearly arrived at the Villa.

"No," Sean chuckled, "How could we just leave like that? We have to teach them a lesson—I guess that by daybreak, those people, after going crazy, will definitely try to recover their losses from us."

After resting in the Villa for half a day, Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings went out.

They arrived at the London Handicraft Market, where they purchased quite a few items.

At this time, Harry Joseph and Will were truly going mad!

"How is it possible? The goods in all four warehouses disappeared? How could this happen? What are those security guards for, eating shit?"

Inside the Villa, Harry Joseph had lost his usual gentlemanly grace and elegance; his roaring voice scared Will into silence—he knew that this matter was serious!

In these two days, the Auction of fewer than three hundred cultural relics had already yielded nearly forty million US Dollars!

If they were all sold, that would equate to an income of several hundred million dollars!

But now everything was gone—not everything, some boutiques were personally collected by Harry Joseph.

But that was only a very small part!

Who could endure such a loss?

Having worked in this profession for so many years, the wealth amassed by Harry Joseph was not even a tenth of that amount!

No one could simply let this go.

"Investigate! We must investigate thoroughly!" Harry Joseph continued to roar, "Inspect those security guards, look into everyone who knew the Location of those four warehouses! Right, and also check out those auction bidders..."

Will felt that Uncle Harry was confused. This Auction was extremely well-organized; the signal for Mobile Phones was blocked in the Auction Room, except when transferring Money. Plus, the room was fitted with hidden Cameras and Eavesdropping Devices.

Although he heard some wanted to investigate the matter, ultimately, it was impossible to act.

Therefore, it was highly unlikely that the disappearance of these items was related to the bidders.

Will was baffled as well, wondering how the contents of all four warehouses could have vanished at once?

He also suspected an inside job.

On one hand, there was total chaos; on the other, Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings had returned to the Villa, planning to leave London.

In the afternoon, Sean received phone calls from Lincoln Harrington and Douglas Cooper.

Douglas had gone to the Middle East, more specifically, to inspect the oil fields there. Although an army battalion was stationed there to provide "security," the troops were primarily in the Capital City.

Given that the area of the oil fields was vast, Douglas went to take a look around. Now, as high-level executives in Sean’s assets, the income from the oil fields included a share for them, so their visit there was completely justified.

Even though Sean had given them free rein, neither wanted to take their wages without working. Lana Brown was on Big Island, so there was no need for concern there. As for Brazil, Sean was likely to return there himself, hence no issues there.

So that left the coal and oil fields, among other places.

Meanwhile, Lincoln had gone to the Lithium Mine in Africa—his girlfriend was still there.

"Let’s leave as well," Sean looked around at the Villa and said to Elijah, "I’m still not used to the climate here, let’s go home."

Elijah nodded deeply, sharing the sentiment.

’Sean Knight has bought a ticket to leave tonight!’ Harry Joseph received a phone call from his Subordinate, ’He and his assistant are leaving—his assistant has been replaced by his former bodyguard!’

’Do they have any luggage?’ Harry Joseph inquired, and then quickly added, ’They must have! Check if they declared any special goods for export? Oh right, make an anonymous phone call to the National Museum, claim that this Sean Knight might be smuggling stolen cultural relics out of the country!’

He was already in deep trouble; dragging everyone down with him, making sure no one would get off scot free!

The news of the theft hadn’t leaked out yet, and the inside man hadn’t been identified. But Harry Joseph could imagine, once the news broke, how those people behind the scenes would tear him to pieces!

He had already sent Will away. He was too deeply involved in this matter, and it was impossible for him to escape anytime soon.

So, he might as well stir things up!

As Sean Knight checked in his luggage at the Airport, a group of people suddenly surrounded him.

A middle-aged man in a gray suit pointed at Sean’s checked-in Box and asked with a stern voice:

"What’s inside this?"

’Handicrafts,’ Sean replied, and then counter-questioned, ’Who are you? What authority do you have to ask me these questions?’

"We are staff from the National Museum, and we are investigating a case of cultural relics theft," the man said, pulling out his identification, "Someone has reported you might be involved in this case."

"Hah," Sean scoffed, "I would actually love to be involved. After all, there are more than twenty thousand Chinese cultural relics in your collection, most of which did not come through official channels. Sadly, I am a law-abiding citizen, otherwise..."

Airport security guards and policemen also arrived on the scene; this was no small affair!

Then, their attention focused on that suitcase—after all, through X-ray, there was no shortage of small items inside!
