Rise of The Demon General
Chapter 210. Harassing the Street Aristocrats

Chapter 210: Chapter 210. Harassing the Street Aristocrats

The six rushed out of Windy Lotus in a little under five minutes. The street was rather quiet in this area at this time, but there were still pedestrians. Some stopped outside the building when they heard the ruckus from the inside. They didn’t dare to interfere, though. They had learned to stay away from the underworld conflicts. Hence, no one gave the six with demonic masks any trouble.

The six spread and ran in different directions. Their black getup made them hard to see at night. After some time, they regrouped at a vacant house in a quiet neighborhood.

The leader with the muscled body took off his mask, revealing himself as Amon. This vacant house was one he had bought for a temporary base. The others also unmasked themselves. One of them was Xin Wuming. The other four were members of Vicious, whom Amon trusted enough for the mission. Their cultivation was at the Intermediate Strength Stage.

They took off their clothes and masks before handing them to Amon. Amon stored the goods and debriefed them before sending them away.

Xin Wuming stayed. After everyone left, he said, "Brother, there is no need for you to aid me just now. I can easily take care of those eight thugs."

Xin Wuming was referring to Amon incapacitating the thugs and rendering them unable to move their legs. Amon used his needles laced with the Fragile Bone Muscle Poison. The needles were so thin they were hard to perceive. Amon also pulled them back quickly, so those thugs did not realize what had hit them.

"You could, but you might have to resort to using your arts. It is not yet the time to reveal ourselves," Amon said.

"I understand," Xin Wuming nodded.

In the next few days, the six repeated the operation. They hit more brothels owned by the Street Aristocrats. Every time they did, they left a scene of devastation and took away the place’s earnings. Members of Street Aristocrats inside the brothels were beaten up. They also left graffiti on the floor that read, Demon Gang.

They didn’t murder anyone, though. As long as no civilians died, the authorities wouldn’t move a finger. The authorities considered this another conflict between the underworld groups. The Street Aristocrats would have to deal with the mess themselves.

Killing members of the Street Aristocrats should still be okay. Casualties occurred during conflicts between the underworld organizations. Still, Amon preferred not to take the chance.

To reduce the risk of civilian casualties, Amon picked the brothels during its slow days. Such a condition also meant the security was light because most personnel were directed at places with busier traffic. This way, Amon and his people encountered less resistance. Amon knew which brothels were less busy on which day because he had scouted them in the last three weeks.

Although Amon didn’t kill the civilians, he still roughed them up. As a result, these customers didn’t dare to come back again. Some regular customers who heard the news also refrained from visiting the brothels. This hurt the Street Aristocrats’ revenue.

After one week of repeated raids, the Street Aristocrats could finally take it no more. They stepped up their security. They called all their members and started sweeping the streets. They increased the number of guards at each of their establishments, even the ones with few customers. They posted at least one Transformation stage cultivator in each of these places.

Once they did that, the raid stopped. Lu Zu, the leader of the Street Aristocrats, was furious. He wished this Demon Gang would show up again so his men could catch them. He was very eager to show these people what it meant to cross him.

Lu Zu maintained the buff-up security for one week. It was not possible to maintain such handling for long. His people had other tasks to deal with. It was also costly. However, the day they stepped down their protection, the demon gang hit again.

It was again at a brothel that was not too busy, so security was minimal. Even though Lu Zu returned security to normal, he still posted one Transformation Stage cultivator as a deputy in each brothel. The one guarding the place attacked by the demon gang had the cultivation at the Beginning Transformation Stage.

When Lu Zu rushed to the place after receiving the news, he found that the battle had ended. The place was ransacked. His people and customers were beaten up. The worst thing was he found the lifeless body of his deputy. The corpse was full of multiple kinds of wounds. Many of those wounds were done post-mortem. Most likely to hide the wound that caused the death.

In his anger, he slammed his hand into the corpse. The corpse burst with intense fire. Within seconds, the fire burnt the corpse into ashes.

After that day, he reinstated the heavy security. He didn’t care about the expenditure. The Demon Gang had touched his nerves. He wouldn’t be happy unless these people were caught. When they did, he would roast them until they were no more than a pile of dirt.

The raids happened less frequently after that. The Demon Gang struck whenever the Street Aristocrats let down their guards. Lu Zu himself was always at the ready. Whenever he heard one of his places got attacked, he immediately rushed over.

Yet, the Demon Gang was always gone before he arrived. They never stayed for long, even when they had not yet finished ransacking the place or stealing the aer stones from the office. This made it hard for the Street Aristocrats to send reinforcements. Their territory was very large, after all. They couldn’t be at every place all the time.

This harassment caused Lu Zu to be unable to deal with other matters. The widespread allocation of manpower also rendered his organization unable to concentrate its strength. As a result, they failed to defend a district in their territory against the focused attack from the Sewer Snakes.

After losing the district, Lu Zu was convinced this Demon Gang was working for the Sewer Snakes. Since he couldn’t catch the Demon Gang, he redirected his anger to the Sewer Snakes. He gathered his people. He was prepared to carry out a large assault on his enemy. He would teach those people what it meant to rouse his anger.
