Chapter 195: Chapter 195. Issuing a Challenge
"Another thing to note about this Street Aristocrats," Xin Wuming added. "When we tried to investigate them, we heard rumors that they are backed by the Yan clan, one of the big clans in Qishurg City."
"Yan clan and the Nobles faction," Amon muttered. "Heh, I wonder if those Yan cousins are still bitter about the school brawl incident."
"I think it is highly likely. Yan Dose had been expelled from this academy," Xin Wuming informed.
"I see. It doesn’t matter. There will always be enemies as long as we are aiming for the top. We will crush them one by one. Stand up! How is your cultivation progressing?" Amon asked.
Since Amon had given the order, Xin Wuming rose. "Thanks to brother lending me to use the basement here, my improvement has been great."
"What about your Sword Hand art?"
Sword Hand was the name of the metal art Amon had given Xin Wuming after the school brawl. It was a mid-tier practitioner grade. Xin Wuming was even more grateful to Amon after learning the art’s grade. All the arts he possessed till that time were only low-tier practitioner grades.
However, with higher grades, the difficulty of learning the art also increased. When he fought Gao Dou, he was still at the beginner level. He was not proficient enough to use the art in a real fight. Just recently, he managed to reach the skilled level.
Xin Wuming informed Amon about his progress.
"I’m sorry, brother. I guess my talent is not good enough," Xin Wuming said apologetically.
"That’s okay. As long as you put in the effort, you will master it," Amon encouraged, but he added, "And Wuming, do not apologize so much. It is a loser’s habit. I don’t want losers working for me. You must be more confident. Do you understand?"
"Ye–yes, brother...!" Xin Wuming said.
"Now, I need to use the basement. You are not allowed to enter anymore when I’m here."
"Yes, brother," Xin Wuming said. He didn’t mind. It was already a luxury that Amon allowed him to use the basement during his absence. He would just use the cultivation pagoda and the practice building like other students.
"Wuming, send out the words tomorrow. The Vicious faction challenges Gao Dou from the Nobles for a fight in the arena."
"Yes, brother. I’m eager to see brother beat that arrogant guy!" Xin Wuming uttered.
Amon chuckled, "I won’t be fighting him in the arena. You will have a rematch with him."
"What...? But... But I..."
"Are you going to tell me you don’t have the confidence to beat him?" Amon said. He looked straight into Xin Wuming’s eyes.
Under the stare, Xin Wuming felt that he had no choice.
"I... I will beat him!" Xin Wuming exclaimed.
"Good!" Amon said.
He spent the rest of the night having Xin Wuming report the details of their members.
After Xin Wuming was done, Amon went into the basement without saying anything else, leaving Xin Wuming pondering whether Amon was angry with him for how he had handled the faction. There was also the rematch with Gao Dou. If he was being honest, he admitted that he was not confident. He sighed. He decided to return to his place and sleep it off. He would worry about them again tomorrow.

Under the basement, Amon felt the rich aether wash over his body. After being away for so long, coming back here made him feel like a man who had just returned from the desert and could finally quench his thirst.
His body absorbed the aether greedily. He also took out his black aetherium stone to further densify the aether. He sat cross-legged and cultivated as he pondered about his faction.
The situation was not as grim as he thought it could be. According to Xin Wuming’s report, the members who quit were mostly new recruits. Of the ones who fought with him against the Noble faction, only three people quit. The rest were still loyal. This proved that he could trust these original members as his core group.
After spending a few hours cultivating while thinking, Amon decided to practice martial arts to loosen his body a bit.
He took the Xian cloth from his space ring. His cultivation was still not enough to fully control this cloth. But during his time being a captive, he had thought about how to use this cloth at his current level.
He first wrapped one end of the cloth onto his left forearm. Being a runic weapon, this cloth was mostly indestructible when fighting anyone below the Martial realm. By wrapping his arm with this cloth, no one would be able to wound his arm.
But protecting his left arm was not his purpose. After securing the cloth to himself, he then secured the other end to his Swan dagger.
Finished this preparation, he threw the swan dagger onto one of the wooden training dummies he had put under this basement. The dagger struck the dummy’s head accurately. Amon then pulled the Xian cloth. Since it was attached to the swan dagger, the dagger was also pulled and returned to his hand.
He used his right arm as a pivoting point for the returned dagger before he used the momentum to throw the dagger to another training dummy.
He was turning these two weapons into rope darts. Although he was not an expert in rope dart fighting style, he knew the principle. He continued to practice and familiarize himself with this style.
With this style utilizing the two combined weapons, he could perform defense, melee fight, and ranged fight without pausing or changing weapons. He also learned to combine this style with the multiple arts he had at his disposal.
When he was done training, he put the swan dagger on his left forearm and then had the Xian cloth wrapped over his arm with the dagger in between. The dagger was now hidden under the yellow cloth wrapping around his left arm.
He went back to cultivating afterward.
