"Which way?!" Whenever they arrived at a turn, Amon asked Pan Niang. She pointed in a direction before they moved again.

At one turn, when Pan Niang pointed, Amon tightened his grip. "Don’t try me, girl! Do you think I don’t recognize this way? This is to Luan Xuan’s chamber."

Amon broke Pan Niang’s other arm, which drew another scream from her. Her two arms were both unusable now. Tears rolled down her cheeks from the pain.

"I will break your legs as well if you keep on playing games. I have no problem carrying you on my shoulder. Now, are you going to tell us the real way?" Amon asked.

"So that you can open my throat up like you did Lei Gun?" Pan Niang talked back defiantly.

"What is she saying?" Li Shi asked.

"You don’t know? This top freshman student killed his fellow student in cold blood just to save his hide," Pan Niang answered with a laugh.

"Is that true?" Li Shi asked Amon.

"Now is not the time," Amon said. He tightened his grip on Pan Niang’s neck. He then pinched one of Pan Niang’s ears and ripped it off.

Pan Niang screamed again.

Two people appeared in the corridor. They had come due to Pan Niang’s previous scream.

"Tutor Shi!" Amon shouted. Li Shi immediately dashed toward the two.

When Li Shi was dealing with the two, Amon said to Pan Niang, who had stopped screaming, "If you are going to keep talking useless stuff instead of showing us the way, I will pick you apart piece by piece. Now, which way?"

Pan Niang saw her two rebel comrades easily defeated by Li Shi. Those two’s cultivation was only in the Human realm. Seeing her reinforcement fail, she reluctantly turned her head in a direction, showing Amon the way.

"This way," Amon said to Li Shi when she returned. But before he left, he threw two flying knives at the two rebels who were unconscious on the floor, killing them. Li Shi had knocked them out but didn’t kill them.

"Is that necessary?" Li Shi asked.

"It is," Amon replied. "Someone else might find them. They might inform those people about seeing us. It’s better if they are still uncertain about us. In such chaos, it will slow their responses."

Li Shi didn’t argue with Amon. Although she had high cultivation, she didn’t have many battle experiences. As a tutor and chief archeologist, her activities were mostly carried out in a safe environment. What intrigued her was what this fifteen-year-old boy had gone through to make him this ruthless. She decided that following Amon’s lead during this crisis would give the two of them a better chance of surviving.

They continued going through the corridor following Pan Niang’s direction. They met a few rebels on the way. Luckily, those rebels were all weak ones. Li Shi easily took care of them. Most of the more powerful rebels were busy fighting the kingdom’s force.

Amon suddenly stopped and used his flesh-tearing claw to cause four long streaks of bloody wounds on Pan Niang’s back. Pan Niang screamed from the pain.

"I have seen this corridor before. Are you taking us in a circle? It seemed that you are truly dedicated to sacrificing your life to keep us here." Amon turned to Li Shi and said, "Tutor Shi, the next enemies in sight. Capture one alive. We will switch our hostage. This one is useless already."

Hearing that, Pan Niang panicked. "No...! I... I will show you the way..."

"Really? How do I not know you are playing us again? All right. I will give you one more chance. If we haven’t arrived at the exit in ten minutes, you will experience for yourself how Luan Fo died."

Pan Niang didn’t see what happened to Luan Fo when Amon killed him in the arena hall, but he had heard the story from the other rebels. Luan Fo died from poison. When the rebel opened his body up to examine, they found his innards had all liquified.

"I... I will show you the right way...," Pan Niang repeated. She was full of sweat. Moving around with broken arms and now the stinging pain in her back. She just wanted this to be over.

The three resumed their walk again. After more than five minutes of walking, they heard the sound of battle ahead. They knew then that Pan Niang had brought them on the right path. They hastened their walk. If they found the kingdom force, they should be protected while making their escape.

When they turned the corner, they saw the fighting parties. The ceiling of the place was open. It seemed the kingdom force had used brute force to break the ground and come inside.

Many cultivators were fighting, but both Amon and Li Shi recognized one of the rebels who were fighting.

"Elder Xuan...!!" Pan Niang cried out. Seeing the man brought her a ray of hope.

Luan Xuan turned around and was surprised to see the three. He immediately understood what had happened. He was battling three mystic stage cultivators. He immediately channeled his energy and caused an explosion that forced the three back.

He then turned and flew at high speed toward Amon and the others.

Tutor Li Shi no longer backed down. There were allies nearby. She jumped forward and put herself between Amon and Luan Xuan.

When the two almost collided, several small pellets shot at Luan Xuan. Luan Xuan swept one arm at these pellets while the other arm slammed into Li Shi’s attack.

Li Shi flew back from the impact. She hit the wall, producing cracks, and fell to the ground with blood flowing from her mouth.

The pellets that Luan Xuan had swept burst into purple smoke. He immediately realized this smoke was poisonous. He held his breath and blocked all his pores using aether, preventing any poison from entering his body.

Several flying knives came then, but Luan Xuan easily deflected all of them.

"You!" Luan Xuan saw the person who had thrown the poison pellets and flying knives. It was Amon

"Come with me!" Luan Xuan shouted and flew toward Amon. Amon was their only clue to the Allure Beacon. Even if they lost this hideout, he should at least escape with Amon in custody.
