Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse
Chapter 154: Visiting the Past, Again

Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Visiting the Past, Again

After the family together with their guests had dinner, assistant Yao and his mother went back to their new apartment. Assistant Yao planned to take his boss’ advice and take his mother out the next day, so he had her rest early.

Leng Pan and Lu Zhen went back to their apartment as well and after taking a shower they both sat at the bed and with a single thought entered the space.

The situation within the space hadn’t changed, except for the extra supplies in the warehouse, the garden outside was still the same and the strange sun in the sky was still strange.

The two didn’t waste time on irrelevant issues and went straight to the mansion. Like always, Leng Pan just needed to get close for the door to open and the two walked in casually like before.

The two walk to the table where the meteorite is placed and look at each other. Without saying a word, they understand each other perfectly. They both place their hands on the meteorite simultaneously, and almost immediately Leng Pan finds herself in a tent-like structure made of advanced material talking to a group of people.

They were discussing something in a language that felt foreign to her. She had a sense of Deja vu when she concentrated but still couldn’t understand what was being said.

What surprised her was the person sitting next to her. The tent was obviously a meeting room and she was sitting at the head of the table. However, there were two seats at the head of the table placed side-by-side.

Even without an explanation, she could determine that the two people sitting at that spot were leaders of equal status, but from the body language of the other people in the room, they deferred more to the woman resembling Leng Pan. Even the man sitting next to her had a look of adoration on his otherwise expressionless face.

She had seen the same man from afar in the battlefield the last time she touched the meteorite. Today, she could see his face clearly and he was practically Lu Zhen’s clone.

She couldn’t understand how she and Lu Zhen appeared together on a supposedly ancient battlefield that seemed more advanced than the current modern technology.

Leng Pan didn’t dwell much on the trivials and continued to pay attention to whatever was being discussed in the meeting with such a heated atmosphere.

She could understand a word or two in between sentences because they were in her language. fr\eewebno vel .c(o)m

She picked up words like alien, volunteer, rebirth, and destruction. She didn’t understand what these words meant, but she had a feeling that whatever was being discussed there had a lot to do with her and the apocalypse.

She noticed that even though the meeting was serious, when the words volunteer and rebirth were mentioned, Leng Pan said something calmly but the rest of the people in the room reacted violently. Especially Lu Zhen, his icy exterior cracked and one could tell that he was trying to convince Leng Pan otherwise.

However, from the way he looked defeated, much like how Lu Zhen usually reacts now when he feels helpless against a decision Leng Pan had made, one could tell that Leng Pan had won the argument.

Under the table where no one could see, Leng Pan held onto Lu Zhen’s hand as if to comfort him. She intertwined their fingers and slowly rubbed her thumb on his palm.

Lu Zhen visibly relaxed and he too uttered the same words as Leng Pan, which included volunteer and rebirth. For some reason Leng Pan had a strong reaction too and vehemently seemed to be opposing his decision or statement. He seemed convinced and stopped talking about the subject, which greatly seemed to relieve Leng Pan and the others in the room.

From this scene, Leng Pan suddenly felt a sudden connection with the Leng Pan in the tent as if she was the one who had experienced everything there even though she couldn’t understand the language.

These emotions grew so clear until she felt the heartache and pain of separation as if something bad had happened after that meeting.

Leng Pan suddenly woke up from her state and found herself back in the mansion with her hand still on the meteorite. Before she could remove her hand, an intense headache hit her that made her feel like her head was about to explode.

She let go of the meteorite and sat down on the sofa behind her then curled up on the sofa while hugging her head. While she was almost screaming in pain, more memories related to the ancient time she only visited when she was touching the meteorite appeared in her head.

She remembered walking down a street in a city that looked too advanced to be real. There were high-tech buildings made of the same material as the mansion in the jade bangle. The sun in the sky was red but the streets were bright.

However, she noticed that the city seemed to be under martial law. There were not many people on the street and even the usual shops witnessed in the world they were in now were lacking.

The city was clean. Too clean.

As she walked, she heard some noise coming from a house on the side of the street. She saw herself almost instantly teleport to the door of the house and yank the door open.

There were two people inside, but they looked like identical twins. The problem was, they were all acting the same way when they saw her. It was like their actions mirrored each other.

Then one woman said, "Commander Leng, help me please, she is almost succeeding in cloning my DNA."

That statement didn’t seem to surprise the Leng Pan in the memory, but it sure shocked the one holding her head on the sofa. How could someone clone another’s DNA just like that?

"She is lying, I am the real Anika. She is the one cloning my DNA." the other woman shouted with anxiety clear in her voice.
