Chapter 258: Chapter 56: An Ending Full of Educational Significance
This! Wilhelm was shocked behind the scenes.
There was no such scene in the script! Otherwise, the size of the shield and the diameter of the Giant Dragon’s throat would definitely have been predetermined to ensure that the shield could get stuck in the opponent’s throat.
Seeing Aske’s decisive and unhindered movements, it was likely he had already calculated the size of both to confirm that the shield could get stuck before proceeding, otherwise losing the shield and being completely engulfed by Dragon Flame would certainly mean a total wipeout and a reshoot!
However, aside from the size of the shield, when had he confirmed the width of the Giant Dragon’s throat?
Wilhelm pondered for a moment and suddenly realized: While under the attack of Dragon Flame, he must have been holding the shield, surely unable to see the inside of the dragon’s mouth. It must have been when the Giant Dragon opened its mouth wide, not breathing out, right after the first time the Dragon ended its breath and attempted to bite Eleanor!
Just one glance and he remembered the size of its throat? Wilhelm suddenly got excited. Indeed, keen insight and profound battlefield Intuition, that is the strength of the genius Swordsman Solomon! Choosing him for this role was the right decision!
With the shield stuck in its throat, the Giant Dragon tried to swallow the foreign object, but Eleanor was quick to react and immediately stuck her Magic Wand into the dragon’s mouth, preventing its upper and lower jaws from closing.
Now, the Giant Dragon couldn’t close its mouth or swallow; moreover, the continuous effect of Dragon Poison began to take effect, forcing it to keep rolling and striking its neck, painfully flailing its head.
The trio quickly kept their distance, fearing being affected by its violent struggles.
"Cast the spell," Aske reminded.
It was then Eleanor remembered that in this play she was a Mage and quickly began chanting and launched Flames and Thunder at the Giant Dragon’s body.
Meanwhile, Miel held her handgun with both hands, squinting as she precisely shot at the wounds created by the Fire Thunder on the Giant Dragon’s abdomen. Due to the Giant Dragon’s excessively violent rolling, she had to concentrate fully to lock onto the quickly vanishing weak spots.
Under the barrage of spells and bullets, the Giant Dragon gradually lost its strength, and its golden vertical pupils slowly dimmed.
Is it dead? Both girls were somewhat in disbelief. This was a Giant Dragon, and just like that, we three together had slain it? Surely this wouldn’t require a reshoot?
"Brilliant! Let’s stop here," as if seeing through the girls’ worries, someone casually remarked with a smile, "Ten minutes of fighting are impressive enough. We can’t let the audience watch three full days and nights of battle scenes, can we?"
Oh right, Eleanor and Miel then remembered they were filming, and this Giant Dragon was simply a prop.
"So we’re wrapping up?" Aske sighed in relief.
Calculating the time, everyone had been shooting for several days; even though Mind Bodies don’t need sleep, persistently doing one thing always led to fatigue.
"Don’t rush; there’s one last scene," the narrator said cheerfully, "This scene is the climax of the entire play, everyone, remember to act with your heart."
Three people: ...
They had been so focused on fighting the Giant Dragon boss that they had forgotten there was one last scene in the script.
The iconic scene where the three main characters confront each other and finally fall apart.
"Come on, let’s get this over with," Aske said impatiently. Since the training goal was achieved, this instance couldn’t be taken away. Hurry up and finish shooting, take the Extraordinary Traits, and leave.
"It’s finally over," Eleanor said as she pulled her Magic Wand out from the Giant Dragon’s mouth, naturally starting to recite her lines, "I thought the Giant Dragon was something formidable; turns out it wasn’t much after all."
"Is everyone hurt?" Miel asked caringly, "I’ll heal everyone."
"No injuries," Eleanor waved her hand casually, as if incidentally asking, "What are your plans now?"
"Retrieve The Azure Longsword and return it to the Emperor," Aske said.
"And after that?" Eleanor pressed, staring at him, "Solomon, is that your longtime wish?"
"I’m going to become a Knight and continue my foster father’s will," Aske declared firmly.
"Heh, congratulations," Eleanor said indifferently, "Becoming a Knight is like getting a ticket into the Nobility, right? What’s next? Marry into the family of a Great Noble who appreciates you?"
Aske didn’t say anything and after a long pause, he said, "I haven’t thought that far ahead, I’ll take it one step at a time."
"So what have you considered me and Miranda to be?" Eleanor lowered her head, her bangs covering her eyes, making her expression unclear, "Companions? Close friends? Or just tools for fulfilling your ambition?"
"I..."
"Don’t justify yourself anymore!" Eleanor suddenly yelled. Although Aske knew they were acting, he was shocked to feel a terrifying aura emanating from her, which unnerved him slightly.
"You and Miranda... the things you’ve done behind my back, do you think I’ve always been in the dark?" she said through clenched teeth, her gaze fierce enough to devour someone, yet tears quickly formed a mist in her eyes.
Hey, hey, isn’t this acting a bit too intense! Aske thought to himself, smiling bitterly as he continued reciting his lines:
"I just don’t want to lose any of you..."
"So what?" Miel, who played Miranda, stepped forward, interrupting her coldly, "What do you want, Christina?"
"Come with me." Eleanor stared into his eyes, "Solomon, I am your girlfriend."
"A girlfriend, not a fiancée," Miel retorted, her tone then softened, "Solomon, if you want to become a Knight, I can help you..."
"Have you had enough, Miranda?" Eleanor asked harshly, "What exactly are you clinging to?"
"I’m not clinging," Miel calmly replied, "Solomon confessed to me first."
"How come I didn’t know about this?" Eleanor scoffed, "All I know is that you rejected him initially. And now you regret it and want to go back on your word?"
"I didn’t reject him!" Miel also became angry, "From the beginning, I never rejected him! I only just..."
Her expression turned sorrowful, and she said to Solomon mournfully, "I just don’t understand why, after you confessed to me, you then accepted Christina?"
"I..." Aske was at a loss for words, and could only stiffly read his lines, "I thought you had rejected me, so..."
"So, it was a misunderstanding?" Eleanor looked at him incredulously, her voice beginning to quaver, "But, Solomon, since you agreed to be with me, why can’t you focus on loving only me... Indeed, am I just a substitute?"
Her expression quickly fell apart; her eyes as if losing focus, facial muscles starting to twitch.
"No, Christina!" Aske shouted, but the voice behind him interrupted:
"Solomon, I’ve always been waiting for you to break up with her... why haven’t I waited yet? I’m so tired of waiting, all this is your fault..." Miel’s voice also became ethereal, as if she had finally broken down, or like a soulless zombie, "It’s your fault, why do you have to make me suffer like this? Are you still going to explain to her... won’t you explain to me first, Solomon?"
"Solomon?"
"Solomon..."
"Solomon!!!"
........
The three of them came out of the illusion dizzy and found themselves back in the study below the stage.
In the center of the room, the accordion coffin, from which the Skeleton had vanished, leaving behind only a shiny "diamond."
The diamond had a strange irregular cut, appearing to be hexagonal from one angle and then octagonal or dodecagonal from another, as if it totally disregarded the mathematical laws of the real world. Its surface shimmered with a rainbow-like luster, initially looking like red or orange-yellow, then turning to blue-green and deep purple, making one dizzy if stared at for too long.
"Is this the Extraordinary Trait left by Wilhelm?" Miel asked.
"Yes." Aske took out a container he had prepared beforehand and carefully stored it, "A high-rank Extraordinary Trait condensed from ’Luck I’ to ’Luck IV,’ absolutely priceless. If word gets out, it would attract countless Transcendents in need, like moths to a flame."
"I’m putting it in the Magic Copper Box now, isolating all extraordinary influences. I definitely won’t take it out until we enter Fire Island—you two need to keep tight-lipped, too."
"Understood." The two ladies, of course, understood its importance and responded in unison.
"Good." Aske secured the box and subconsciously pressed on his abdomen.
"Does it still hurt?" Eleanor teased with a smile.
In the final scenario, the frenzied Christina and Miranda, together, plunged the daggers into Solomon’s abdomen—a fairy tale that originally had a tragic ending. Through Wilhelm’s bold revision, it suddenly gained a unique educational meaning.
"I just feel like an idiot," Aske grimaced.
