Chapter 173: 77th Chapter: Dispute at the Royal Court
"Come on, Sigrdrifa, take the potion!" Nora said with a smile on her face, holding a bottle of Frost I Magic Potion.
"Uh, about that..." Sigrdrifa hesitated, "Didn’t I just take the ’Ancient X’ potion not long ago?"
"Have you digested it?" Medea asked.
"Hmm..." Sigrdrifa tilted her head, "Seems there might be a bit left over?"
"Is that so?" Nora chirped cheerfully, "Ellie, Sigrdrifa says there’s still some potion left, come help her digest it!"
"Wait, wait a moment!" Sigrdrifa hurriedly exclaimed, "I was mistaken! After several battles with the Crusaders, I’ve already completely digested it!"
Even if she was naturally ditzy, after being beaten up by everyone for an afternoon, she had begun to realize something was amiss.
It was as if Aske had designated her as a prime target for intense training, pushing her to take the next Magic Potion as soon as possible.
"Really?" Nora said, somewhat skeptically, then turned to look at Medea.
"Well, she’s barely telling the truth." Medea read her superficial thoughts, "There might be a residue, but it’s so insignificant that it can be ignored."
"Then take the potion," Nora handed her the Frost I and gave Medea a meaningful look. The latter immediately understood and left Fire Island ahead of time.
Sigrdrifa looked at the Magic Potion with grief and resignation and chugged it down.
Seeing her so cooperative, Nora seemed to be in a good mood and started humming a little tune.
In her Spiritual Body vision, she saw countless Angelic Spiritual Bodies descending, humming along with her in enchanting and melodious harmony.
The Angel’s Song, activated.
As the Frost I Magic Potion went down, Sigrdrifa immediately felt her body temperature dropping rapidly, as if she were being soaked in icy seawater, constantly losing warmth from her body.
First, she lost feeling in her lower abdomen, then in her legs and chest, followed by her arms and neck, where a thick, blue-purple hue began to spread upward, battling with her consciousness at her throat.
Nora placed her hand on Sigrdrifa’s forehead, using the power of Spirit Body I to smooth out her spiritual fluctuations.
Thus, Sigrdrifa maintained a kind of strange clarity, uneasily feeling more cold surging up from the depths of her belly, and then... gradually receding.
"Ah~" She moaned comfortably, "It’s like taking a cold shower after sweating profusely."
Sigrdrifa, officially advanced to Lv. 3.
Nora suddenly felt a wave of envy because she was still lingering at Lv. 2, though the next bottle of Mind I was already in her hand...
"Now that you’ve stabilized initially, you have to work hard to digest this potion," Nora said with a beaming smile, waving over Eleanor and Peggy, "Ellie, you guys start sparring~"
"Eh! Why do I have to fight with you guys after I’ve already taken the potion..." Sigrdrifa wailed.

Spartan Royal Court.
Once the Elder Council, the current Spartan Royal Court was now surrounded by the impassioned Spartan Warriors.
Their anger was directed straight at the mercenary leaders inside the Royal Court.
When did the martial Spartans need to rely on foreign mercenaries for their protection?
"I am Andrea, Eastern Branch Commander of the Steel Cross Mercenary Corps. This time we came here because of a mutant incident on Taigetes Mountain," Andrea spoke eloquently. "Our Mercenary Group has brought 100 people, among which more than 20 are Transcendents with abundant experience in handling such mutants."
"Sparta doesn’t need help from outsiders," stated Kapsos, the current King of the Sparta City State, coldly.
"This isn’t about helping," Andrea said with a light smile, "it’s merely a job offer from the Steel Cross Mercenary Corps. Your side pays, our side fights, and everyone gets what they need."
Kapsos fell silent, exchanging a glance with Lysander, the other reigning King of Sparta.
The extraordinary creatures that had come down from Taigetes Mountain were known as "Snow Monsters," possessing abilities from the "Frost" Sequence.
The Sparta City State was not without its Transcendents, yet being a militaristic democratic city-state, their route to transcendence mostly leaned towards the physical department, which was just the type that the "Frost" Sequence could counter.
When the Transcendents fought the Snow Monsters, the low temperatures of frost would travel via their swords and shields of metal, conducting into the bodies of the Transcendents.
If they made contact for no more than ten seconds, the hands holding the sword or shield would freeze stiff, eventually numbing and losing all feeling. Spartan warriors tried wrapping their arms with cloth or cotton, but it had little effect.
Of course, the most effective method was to switch to long-range attacks, such as those from gunners or those wielding Arcane Sequences.
But this went against the cultural customs of the Spartans. Their culture was one of machismo, face-to-face confrontations. Now, they were supposed to seek help from the Sirius mages they once looked down upon? Impossible!
At least for now, the vast majority of traditional Spartan warriors were still very resistant to the intervention of foreign forces.
Of course, the Spartans were brash, not idiots. Once most realized that the Snow Monsters could not be defeated in close combat and the mainstream opinion in the city shifted, the two Kings wouldn’t face much opposition when asking for help from Olin City.
However, the arrival of the Eastern Branch of the Steel Cross Mercenary Corps had prematurely intensified the city’s controversy over whether to ask for assistance.
"Let these northerners roll out!" A loud voice came from the crowd outside.
"Who just objected?" Andrea turned around, graciously opening his arms with a smile, and asked.
"I, Agislaos!" A young Spartan warrior made his way through the crowd, pointing at the Frankish noble and said, "Sparta can take care of its own matters, we don’t need you meddling!"
"This young man looks quite confident, good." Andrea nodded, "However, seeing how unscathed you are, you probably haven’t had a chance to fight with the Snow Monsters from Taigetes Mountain, right?"
The young warrior named Agislaos immediately flushed red in the face.
The answer was, of course, obvious. If he had indeed exchanged blows with a Snow Monster, this warrior would not have stated "Sparta needs no help."
"Your Majesties," Andrea said with a smile, "perhaps we could conduct a simple experiment to assess whether the city of Sparta truly needs our assistance."
The two Kings remained silent, looking at him without a word.
In such a situation, silence equated to acquiescence. Andrea keenly read into this and clapped his hands, summoning another mercenary from outside the crowd:
"Herman!"
From outside the crowd, a youth with gloomy blond hair entered, a longsword at his waist, a short axe on his back, and a cloth armor robe adorned with the emblem of the Steel Cross.
"Herman is one of our advanced Transcendents in the Corps, currently mastering the Frost Sequence," Andrea said with a smile. "Although his physical strength isn’t as formidable as a Snow Monster’s, if you, a Spartan warrior, can withstand his frost assault and defeat him, then we’ll acknowledge that you have the ability to confront the Snow Monsters on your own."
Both Kings remained silent, simply turning their gaze toward Agislaos.
Agislaos, fired up, drew the longsword from his waist and said:
"Fine!"
