Chapter 113 - 17 The Manipulated Alexander
Chapter 113: Chapter 17 The Manipulated Alexander
Aske jumped back again, perfectly avoiding the attack of the zombie.
"Give it back to me..." Alexander’s corpse began to shriek, "Give it back to me!"
"What should I give back to you?" Aske asked.
"Oh, I see." Seeing it staring intently at Peggy on his back, Aske said with a smile, "You want her, don’t you?"
"Let me guess: her Mind Body is gone, probably in the Subconscious Ocean, staying with your Super Self? Then you want to use her Spiritual Body to reverse-locate her Mind Body, and trace back to your dead Super Self?"
"Finally to resurrect?"
The zombie gave no response, just continuously clacked its jaw.
"Then I’ll take that as your consent, okay?" Aske said coldly, "What’s the point of hiding behind this corpse, can’t you come out and talk to me?"
Seeing no reaction, he continued:
"The reason it’s called ’Self’ is because it is the most pure instinct of the human body, incapable of the complex, intelligent action of ’seeking the Super Self’."
"There must be a manipulator behind the scenes, manipulating this corpse to intentionally converse with me, making me think Alexander himself wants to resurrect, right?"
"And her emotional breakdown before, don’t you think it was too coincidental? By the time I realized something was wrong with her and turned back, not even a minute had passed, and she had already got separated from the squad ahead? The Netherworld doesn’t have the attribute of twisting space."
"Continuous coincidences are not coincidences. I guess this was not your original plan, but because you discovered our presence, you changed your approach on the fly, which is why you exposed so many flaws."
Alexander’s zombie looked dully at him, suddenly opening its mouth and emitting a mysterious voice indistinguishable between male and female:
"Heh."
"The demi-god of the Undead Sequence, am I right?" Aske stared at it, "Considering the maximum level of the Magic Tide is Lv.5, you must be using some sort of item, with just enough minimal Spirituality, to remotely manipulate this corpse to avoid any harm to yourself."
"Since you understand," the corpse said, "then you should also know that, facing a demi-god who manipulates from behind the scenes, you at Lv.3 have no chance."
"Whether I have a chance or not, I would know only after trying," Aske said.
He carried Peggy on his shoulder and charged at the zombie with his sword.
The latter swung its Longsword, creating three illusions, but this time it didn’t maneuver and just charged straight at him.
Aske’s speed unceasing, he twisted his body and safely passed through the three illusions; they stiffened on the spot and suddenly split in two, cleanly sliced in half.
"Double Reflex Charge," the corpse sighed leisurely, "Exquisite skill, but it must also exhaust a lot of your stamina."
"With someone on your back, how many times can you use such a technique?"
"If you’re waiting for me to run out of stamina," Aske charged straight at the zombie, "you’ll have to wait a long time."
"Perhaps," the zombie quickly retreated, "but it will eventually run out."
"While my Undead Illusion Sword is truly endless."
He split into multiple illusions again, swinging in an arc to encircle and assault, but Aske cleanly killed each one with his sword.
However, at that moment of killing, the corpse further widened the distance between them.
"Can’t catch up, can’t exhaust me to death, I’m curious if you have any other tricks?" the zombie said in a mocking tone.
Aske fell silent.
"How about we make a deal," the corpse intently gazed at him saying, "I won’t harm your little girlfriend, I just want to resurrect Alexander. If you lend her to me to locate, you can safely leave."
"Alexander can’t be resurrected," Aske said, "Even if the Self and Super Self are merged, it would still be just a corpse without emotions."
"Ah, such undead are exactly what we want," the corpse sighed despondently. "Don’t you understand? We are not resurrecting Alexander himself, but his body and his wisdom."
This time, Aske finally lost his composure, revealing a slightly astonished expression.
"Is the Spirit Sect trying to use him as a container?"
This was a plot twist not found in the previous life’s game!
No, perhaps it was secretly completed by some guilds and never publicly announced.
"Good guess," the corpse said calmly. "Your imagination has exceeded my expectations."
"Then let me reveal a bit: the extraordinary knowledge system from the Second Epoch has been lost too much over time, and we don’t even know what’s incomplete or what has been later added or distorted by the ignorant."
"By studying Alexander’s body, we can reproduce the ancient knowledge of extraordinary cultivation, especially the precious ’Illusion Sword’ swordsmanship. His military genius can also help us fend off the Seljuk invasions."
"It is not just a container; it is also a living library of knowledge, a perfect extraordinary item. That is all I can say." The corpse lifted the longsword, pointing it at him from afar, "Now, it is your turn to decide, will you choose death, or will you choose to compromise?"
"Choosing to compromise might well be choosing death," Aske said meaningfully.
"Heh, but you have no other choice, do you?" The corpse laughed coldly without disguise. "Refusing to compromise means certain death; trusting me gives you a chance to bet that I will keep my word."
"I, for one, do not like to gamble with last-minute risks," Aske shook his head and smiled. "I prefer to be well-prepared in advance."
"Heh..." the corpse just chuckled.
Then its head completely exploded.
The headless corpse reacted incredibly fast, almost instantly leaping several meters away, then its body began to tremble uncontrollably.
"Desire Sequence?" The headless corpse struggled to speak, the voice seeming to come from inside the hollow of its neck.
From behind the fog rushed the mercenaries of The Azure Longsword and the Night Watch Knights.
"This is impossible!" The voice from the corpse screamed in disbelief, hardly able to accept it. "The Netherworld blocks the Subconscious Ocean and electromagnetic signals, how could you possibly find this place!"
He directed the longsword downwards, violently stabbing into his foot, the lingering pain in the corpse immediately helping him break free from Medea’s control of desire.
"Advance all, maintain distance ten!" Aske charged towards the living corpse, instructing his people.
Distance ten, meant keeping a distance of about ten steps from the BOSS, so the Azure Longsword’s people hurriedly moved forward, the Night Watch Knights hesitated briefly and then chose to follow immediately.
The corpse screamed, swinging his sword and sending three illusions attacking them.
"Prepare the air pressure sniper axe," Aske quickly instructed, "Medea, take control!"
Upon hearing the command, Medea instantly clenched her slender hand tightly.
Even the living corpse, though using pain to suppress the uprising desire within itself, could not help but pause in its movements.
It was this momentary pause that allowed Miel’s sniper bullet, Thira’s air pressure bullet, and Sigrdrifa’s thrown axe to accurately hit the three illusions, promptly scattering them in the air.
As the crowd rapidly closed in, the damaged neck of the living corpse writhed, quickly producing a semi-transparent head, resembling an ethereal spiritual body.
Then the spiritual head opened its mouth, as if chanting something.
The entire corpse then began to float, rapidly retreating away from the people.
"Continue the charge, maintain the distance, don’t stop!" Aske continued.
The group hurriedly pressed forward, then saw many tiny stones rising around the living corpse, floating as if gravity had been lost, slowly revolving around the corpse in the air.
Then, flames burst from these stones and were swiftly propelled towards the people, drawing fiery hot trails through the air.
Meteor Fire Rain.
