Chapter 945: Chapter 946: Japanese Classmate
The next day, Song Xiaodong, Qingqing, and Xuanxuan woke up very late. The previous night, the three of them had indulged recklessly, over and over again, seemingly oblivious to exhaustion.
During this time at home, everyone had been holding back a little. After all, Song Xiaodong had been working hard late into the night every day, and they were all worried about tiring him out.
But here, they didn’t have to worry about anyone else and could let loose completely.
With all kinds of positions and locations, both Qingqing and Xuanxuan surrendered themselves entirely to Song Xiaodong. The two sisters coordinated with such seamless precision that they seemed like a perfect match. They intuitively understood each other’s roles without speaking, sometimes even without exchanging glances. They simply knew what to do next.
"Hubby, get up. Let’s go check out the casino today," Xuanxuan said, sitting up and tugging on Song Xiaodong’s arm.
"Alright! Let’s get up and go win some money!" Song Xiaodong laughed heartily and immediately sat up.
The three of them tidied up quickly, grabbed a bite to eat, and headed straight for the casino.
Coming to Las Vegas felt incomplete without gambling a few rounds. While Qingqing and Xuanxuan typically weren’t interested in such things, being here inevitably sparked a bit of excitement.
Xuanxuan, with her playful nature, had been here with Song Xiaodong two years ago. But for Qingqing, it was her first time stepping into a place like this. Everything was novel to her, and even playing on slot machines for a short while brought her joy.
Money wasn’t a concern for the three of them, but since they were there to gamble, winning was naturally what brought happiness. Slot machines, however, were harder to win on, so before long, the three had lost quite a bit. Qingqing pouted and said, "This isn’t fun. I keep losing."
Song Xiaodong laughed and replied, "Betting against machines is tough; they’re programmed with payout ratios. Let’s gamble with real people instead. That relies more on skill and feels more reliable."
Xuanxuan chuckled and said mischievously, "Exactly, our hubby’s gambling skills are tremendous. Last time, when I was here with him, we won a lot."
Although Qingqing had lost the memories implanted in her, Xuanxuan and Song Xiaodong had brought up past events so often that those moments had almost been added back into her mind—albeit as an observer, not the protagonist.
The three of them were preparing to enter the live casino when a small group of people brushed past them. Suddenly, a man halted mid-step, turned to Qingqing, and stared at her with intense surprise.
"Qingqing!" The man called out her name in a peculiar voice, noticeably not natural Chinese.
"Jinglin Zuoye!" Qingqing responded, equally startled.
Jinglin Zuoye burst into laughter and stepped forward enthusiastically. "Haha, it’s me! I can’t believe it; running into you here is such a happy coincidence!"
Qingqing smiled back, but her expression didn’t match Jinglin Zuoye’s sheer excitement. She nonchalantly slipped her arm around Song Xiaodong’s and said, "Mr. Jinglin, what a coincidence. Hubby, this is Mr. Jinglin Zuoye, an ex-classmate I knew while studying abroad."
Qingqing had attended a two-plus-two university program, spending two of those years abroad.
"Hello!" Song Xiaodong gave Jinglin Zuoye a polite smile and extended his hand.
Jinglin Zuoye’s expression stiffened momentarily as he looked at Song Xiaodong. "Hello! What a pity that someone as divine as Qingqing already has a husband," he remarked, clearly upset.
Their hands clasped briefly, and Song Xiaodong instantly felt a surge of pressure in Jinglin Zuoye’s grip. The man was purposely trying to overpower him in an attempt to embarrass him.
Song Xiaodong found it absurd. If a twenty-something-year-old behaved like this, it might be excusable, but Jinglin Zuoye was a man in his mid-to-late twenties. Playing childish tricks like this was downright foolish.
"Being with Qingqing is my greatest pride," Song Xiaodong responded calmly, allowing Jinglin Zuoye to exert his strength.
"Huh..." Jinglin Zuoye, who had practiced Karate since childhood, had substantial physical strength. Typically, such a squeeze would elicit a painful reaction from the other party. However, Song Xiaodong remained unfazed, entirely composed, which shocked Jinglin. He increased his grip intensity.
Song Xiaodong frowned slightly. This guy was overstepping, mistaking politeness for weakness. But he was far from someone who could be bullied, especially when it concerned his wife.
Jinglin Zuoye wanted to provoke Song Xiaodong into crying out in pain. Instead, he suddenly felt an immense force transmitted from the latter’s hand. He hurriedly intensified his grip to counteract the pressure, but the effort was futile against such overwhelming strength. Even using all his might, he couldn’t prevent Song Xiaodong’s retaliation.
Pain surged through his hand, so sharp it almost made him cry out. Yet, for the sake of his pride, he gritted his teeth and endured it, beads of sweat dripping uncontrollably from his forehead.
Song Xiaodong wasn’t inclined to show mercy. Unleashing another burst of power, he forced Jinglin Zuoye to finally scream in agony. As Jinglin twisted his body in pain and tried to use his other hand to pry Song Xiaodong’s fingers apart, the latter casually let go, leaving him flailing awkwardly.
"Looks like Mr. Jinglin wanted to test my strength, but unfortunately, you’re still lacking a bit," Song Xiaodong said indifferently.
Qingqing wasn’t upset by the confrontation. She knew Jinglin Zuoye’s personality all too well. Flashing a detached smile, she said, "Mr. Jinglin, we’re heading to have some fun now. Sorry to leave so abruptly. Goodbye." She then clasped Song Xiaodong’s arm and walked away.
Xuanxuan gripped Song Xiaodong’s other arm, chuckling softly as she followed along.
"Damn it!" Jinglin Zuoye cursed under his breath, rubbing his hand angrily as his gaze remained fixed on Song Xiaodong, Qingqing, and Xuanxuan.
"Do you want us to deal with him?" one of Jinglin Zuoye’s muscular companions murmured.
Jinglin Zuoye shook his head. "No, we can’t cause trouble here. I didn’t expect Qingqing to also have a twin sister. This is just too tempting. I’ll make sure I get both of them."
"Understood!" The burly man acknowledged respectfully and stepped aside.
Jinglin Zuoye added, "Keep an eye on them. Find out where they’re staying and where they’ll head next. I won’t let that bastard get away with this."
Qingqing quietly said to Song Xiaodong, "That guy’s really annoying. Back in the U.S., he kept pestering me. He’s arrogant and comes from a powerful family with ties to Japanese organized crime."
Xuanxuan scoffed lightly and said, "So what? Anyone who dares compete with hubby for a woman is asking to die."
Song Xiaodong puffed out his chest proudly. "Exactly!" The three of them burst into laughter at his response.
