Chapter 466: Chapter 467: Such Law Enforcement

Song Xiaodong got into the van ahead, and immediately someone pushed him hard from behind, shouting, "Hurry up! Did you skip breakfast or something?"

Song Xiaodong stumbled, turned around to look at the young policeman in his twenties, furrowed his eyebrows, and said, "Did you push me?"

The young policeman glared and responded, "So what if I pushed you? You better behave yourself, or else I’ll make your life hell."

Song Xiaodong’s expression darkened as he said, "Aren’t I supposed to cooperate with you? What kind of attitude is this?"

"Attitude? Who are you to talk about attitude with me? Just sit down." The young policeman followed him onto the van and with a raise of his hand, his fist headed straight for Song Xiaodong’s chest.

Song Xiaodong caught the policeman’s wrist and said coldly, "Are you trying to hit? Are policemen allowed to hit people just like that?"

The policeman, unable to free his wrist after struggling a bit, became furious and shouted, "Let go of me, damn it! I told you to let go, don’t you hear? Fuck, I’ll kick you to death." He bent down and aimed a kick at Song Xiaodong’s leg.

Song Xiaodong was really getting annoyed, having served in the army for so many years, even when capturing prisoners, there were rules to follow, even among enemies.

And now, a policeman was being so rough, treating him even worse than an enemy. Was this the so-called people’s policeman?

With a flick of his wrist, the policeman’s body involuntarily leaned backwards, and as he kicked out his leg, he lost his balance and fell flat on his butt.

"Fuck, you dare assault an officer!" the policeman immediately shouted angrily.

Song Xiaodong scoffed, suppressing the anger in his heart, "Assault an officer, that’s a big accusation. You policemen start with rough treatment, and me simply defending myself now constitutes assaulting an officer?"

"I’m a policeman. I can handle you however I want, and you have to endure it. If you touch me, it’s considered assaulting an officer. Alright then, kid, now you’ve got a serious charge. Just for this one, assaulting an officer, you could be locked up for a couple of years, get your bedding ready for prison."

"Fine! Fine!" Song Xiaodong said twice, his gaze sharp as an eagle’s, fixated on the young policeman. He was truly furious now, no matter the backing this policeman had, Song Xiaodong was determined to make him suffer.

"Forget it, let’s just take him back to the station and then talk." An older policeman who had followed up said somberly.

"Kid, you just wait. Once we get to the station, see how I’ll deal with you." The young policeman glared fiercely at Song Xiaodong, then sat down.

Song Xiaodong said nothing and just sat down, his expression becoming extremely grim. The last encounter he had was with unreasonable policemen, but none seemed as arrogant as this one, probably because they were backed by Sun Yawei, making these policemen quite reckless in their actions.

About fifteen minutes later, the van parked inside the courtyard of Hedong Sub-bureau. Song Xiaodong got out of the van following the policemen, and the young policeman walking behind him raised his foot and harshly kicked at Song Xiaodong’s thigh.

"Fuck you! Now that you’re here, try crossing me again," he yelled viciously as his foot lashed out.

Even without looking back, Song Xiaodong knew what the policeman was doing. His face turned even colder. He stood still but gathered Qi in his right leg, which became as hard as steel.

When the policeman’s kick landed on Song Xiaodong’s leg, it was like kicking an iron post. A sharp pain instantly shot up from his foot.

"Ah!" With a scream, the guy fell on his butt, holding his foot and crying out in pain.

Only then did Song Xiaodong turn around and sneer coldly at the young policeman.

"Fuck you!" The young policeman exploded in rage, leaping up despite the pain and abruptly pulling out handcuffs, shouting, "You dare assault an officer here?"

Song Xiaodong scoffed, "Assault? There are so many people here, who saw me lay a finger on you? Who saw me attack you? Only a dumbass kicks me, as fragile as glass, and then accuses me of assault. People like you, glass men, are nothing but wine sacks, rice bags. I really don’t understand how someone like you qualifies to be in the police force, what ability do you have to serve the people, what ability do you have to protect the safety of people’s lives and property?"

"You..." Blindsided by Song Xiaodong’s retort, the young policeman’s face turned ugly, especially since he had no comeback.

"Enough, stop the fuss. Let’s go inside to talk about this. There are too many people coming and going here, making us look bad," said an older policeman, clearly impatient and dissatisfied with the young officer’s behavior. Policing wasn’t like the old days; everything had to be based on evidence and proper procedure. They hardly wanted to deal with a case like Song Xiaodong’s unless it was under pressure from above.

The young policeman named Zhao Chuo had some minor connections, securing this job through Vice Mayor Su’s influence, although he wasn’t really related to Vice Mayor Su. Now, seizing the chance to ingratiate himself with Su Yawei, he was exerting extra effort.

"Hmph!" Zhao Chuo glared fiercely at Song Xiaodong, knowing the senior policeman was right. It wasn’t good to cause a scene here, so he held his tongue, thinking about how he would handle Song Xiaodong once they were inside.

Once they were in an interrogation room, Zhao Chuo immediately told the others, "I’ll interrogate him."

"Xiao Zhao, don’t mess around. Just handle this properly," an older policeman frowned.

"Don’t worry, I know my limits," Zhao Chuo replied.

"Xiao Liu, go with Zhao Chuo to the interrogation."

Xiao Liu, another young man, agreed and stayed behind with Zhao Chuo.

The remaining two senior policemen left the room. With their experience, they preferred to avoid cases with a personal agenda. Ordinary people weren’t so easy to bully. If things went south, everyone involved would be implicated. Even if it went smoothly, the most they could expect was a meal from Su Yawei.

"Kid, now I’ll see how arrogant you can be," Zhao Chuo locked the door, pulled a rubber club from a corner, and walked towards Song Xiaodong with a sinister smile.
