Chapter 399: Chapter 400: Vacation
Miao Qingqing eventually moved into Song Xiaodong’s room, while her previous room was taken by Xiao Yingying, and it was her own initiative.
First off, Xiao Yingying could keep Miao Xuanxuan company, otherwise, Miao Xuanxuan would have been alone downstairs. Besides, Xiao Yingying cheerfully told Miao Qingqing that she was just a mistress and couldn’t stay on the same floor as Miao Qingqing, the "Empress".
Moreover, Xiao Yingying helped Miao Qingqing move her belongings into Song Xiaodong’s room. Her enthusiasm was evident, showing no sign of displeasure.
This made Miao Qingqing feel quite strange, but Xiao Yingying showed respect in every way. At the very least, Miao Qingqing felt quite appreciated inside, and with Xiao Yingying constantly calling herself a mistress, Miao Qingqing was becoming somewhat numb to it.
Miao Qingqing thought living with Song Xiaodong would be awkward, but in reality, once they broke through that barrier, living together felt natural and went without saying.
Moreover, having just tasted affection, Miao Qingqing found herself uncontrollably falling into Song Xiaodong’s arms with just a slight flirtation from him.
Those days were blissful and flew by quickly, and before they knew it, the October 1st holiday had arrived.
Song Xiaodong and Miao Xuanxuan’s classes at the clubhouse were adjusted by Li Sijie, giving them a full two days off. Then, they rented a van, bought some gifts and numerous outdoor items, and headed straight to the place where Song Xiaodong’s father was born.
Upon arriving at the Second Uncle’s house, Song Xiaodong’s group was warmly welcomed. In the eyes of his relatives, Song Xiaodong was now seen as the most successful member of the family.
Miao Qingqing, along with her twin, and Xiao Yingying, a girl pure as an angel, immediately astonished the villagers, who probably had never seen so many beauties all at once in their lives.
When Song Xiaoru introduced Miao Qingqing as Song Xiaodong’s girlfriend, many relatives immediately started inquiring about Miao Qingqing.
Before coming, they had discussed keeping some details private to avoid overwhelming everyone. So, Miao Qingqing mentioned she worked at a company as a white-collar worker, avoiding revealing that she was actually the CEO of a major corporate group, which would have surely alarmed the relatives.
"Brother Dongzi, thank you!" Song Xianping from the Third Uncle’s family came over to express his gratitude to Song Xiaodong.
"Has your job been settled?" Song Xiaodong asked with a smile.
Song Xianping replied excitedly, "It’s settled, all thanks to your help, Brother Dongzi. Otherwise, I have no idea when I could have become a regular employee."
Present in the house besides direct relatives like the Second and Third Uncles, there were also some cousins, who were curious and immediately started asking what had happened.
Song Xianping proudly explained how Song Xiaodong had helped him secure a job, which earned Song Xiaodong even greater respect from everyone. To ordinary people, turning someone’s job into a civil servant position definitely required substantial influence.
While they were talking, more guests arrived, and the Second Uncle’s family went out to greet them.
The guests were another relative of Song Xiaodong’s, a cousin whom Song Xiaodong barely remembered.
This cousin’s family arrived in a Range Rover, driven by the cousin’s son-in-law, Ding Yuelin. They stepped out of the car one by one, all exhibiting a sense of pride as if returning home in glory.
"Song Deqing, you’ve really made it big!" Second Uncle approached with a smile, greeting his cousin.
"Haha!" Song Deqing laughed heartily. "It’s nothing, it’s nothing," he said humbly, but he couldn’t hide the smug look on his face.
"Who are these two..." Second Uncle asked, turning towards the man and woman that Song Deqing had brought with him.
"This is my daughter, Song Yu, and this is Little Jade’s boyfriend, Ding Yuelin, Second Brother," Song Deqing began excitedly. "Let me tell you, my son-in-law is something else. He is from the Ding family. You might not know about the Ding family, but let me tell you, the background of my son-in-law’s family is such that even the mayor and the party secretary have to give face. I specifically brought him over to add glory to you. I’m telling you, once they know he’s here, even the village head will have to come over."
"That’s really something, isn’t it?" Second Uncle’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Patting Second Uncle on the shoulder, Song Deqing added, "Hah, I’m not bragging. We were just having dinner with the village head and others. The village head even said he’d bring people over here for the wedding feast later. Second Brother, you have to host them well, don’t let us, the old Song family, lose face."
"Sure, sure," Second Uncle responded, taking another look at Ding Yuelin. The young man appeared unremarkable but carried an air of arrogance, merely nodding at Second Uncle without any address.
"Deqing, how much did this car cost?" one of his cousins asked Song Deqing.
Immediately, Song Deqing smiled and said, "Not much, just over two million."
"Over two million... my goodness!" Second Uncle was startled and quickly said, "Hurry, find someone to keep an eye on it, don’t let those mischievous kids go over and scratch the car."
Second Auntie hastily arranged for someone to watch it, as the rambunctious kids didn’t care how much the car was worth; they could cause trouble regardless.
Song Deqing was even more proud, saying, "No need to be so tense, the Ding family has plenty of money."
Second Uncle led Song Deqing inside the house, introducing him to each of the relatives. Song Deqing felt the awe-struck gazes of his relatives, feeling an indescribable sense of pride.
"These are Xiaoru and Xiaodong, the two children of my elder brother," Second Uncle introduced Song Xiaodong and Song Xiaoru again.
In front of the elders, Ding Yuelin did nod, but when facing his peers like Song Xiaodong, he didn’t nod at all, displaying a rather haughty attitude.
Song Xiaodong frowned slightly; this kid with the last name Ding was clearly from the Ding family, and even the old man had to treat him politely. A junior displaying such arrogance in front of him truly knew neither sky nor earth.
However, Song Xiaodong didn’t bother with such people. Seeing that there were many people inside, he quickly took Song Xiaoru and others out, then drove to the small river behind the village.
The scenery here was really nice. Xiao Yingying, Miao Xuanxuan, and Miao Qingqing quickly fell in love with it, while Song Xiaodong set up a tent. The sun was still quite harsh at noon, and these beauties certainly wouldn’t want to get sunburned while outside.
Just as Song Xiaodong had finished setting up the tent, Ding Yuelin and Song Yu also drove up. After getting out of the car, Song Yu, with no courtesy, said to Song Xiaodong, "Hey, your tent is not bad, lend it to us." It was as if saying this was entirely to be expected.
I’m only updating this Chapter this morning, but haven’t slacked off; I have been working on the plot all morning. This "mind power" does take quite a toll, but there should be speed in the afternoon.
