Chapter 92: What’s the situation?

With the moon shining brightly in the clear, starless sky, the city was in chaos due to the sudden attack of the lightning boars, which had already entered, wreaking havoc.

The knights were moving everywhere, killing all the wild beasts that were being subjugated by the great Lightning Boar, which had not yet made a move.

Several corpses had already begun to stain the streets that were once full of life.

"Quick! Move south to provide support and prevent further casualties. Don’t delay, reinforcements from the Medici mansion are on their way," shouted one of the knights who had arrived on the scene to provide support.

"Leader, the northern part is also under attack, and they are being led by a silver wolf of viscount rank and his large pack!" shouted another who came running up with his body covered in blood.

"Damn it! Groups 3 and 5, go north and try to stabilize the situation."

The situation was becoming increasingly chaotic, and with the new attack by the silver wolves, things only got worse.

The festive atmosphere was destroyed, and the only sound in the air was the screams of the commoners as the streets began to fill with blood.

A meeting was being held among the elders at the Medici mansion, as Zephyr was not at the mansion.

"What is the current situation?" asked Colson, who was the oldest and most experienced among them all.

"The situation is worsening. We are being attacked by two beasts of viscount rank: one from the south and the other from the north," said Jacop, another of the elders, about the report he had received.

A silence fell over the place due to the large number of Clan members who had disappeared. Now they were in a predicament. They couldn’t send all the reinforcements to the areas under attack because the members of the great families were there at that moment, along with the infiltrators.

The situation worsened with every passing hour, and any hasty move could be fatal. If they made a single mistake, they would be devoured without mercy.

Colson took a deep breath, holding back his frustration. The two key figures of the clan were absent, leaving him in charge of maintaining balance amid the chaos.

They were bound. They couldn’t move freely, not when they had to keep the members of the great families at bay, always on the lookout, waiting for any sign of weakness to attack. The absence of the clan chief was an open wound that everyone pretended not to see... but it was bleeding more and more.

Colson drummed his finger on the table, his constant gesture filling the silence of the room. He was thinking. Fast. But every option that crossed his mind was discarded in seconds. It wasn’t enough to act: he had to act right.

After nearly a minute of tense internal deliberation, his finger struck the table harder. Several of those present looked up.

"We will not change the main structure. We will send reinforcements as needed and mobilize the vault guards. Let the young masters join the immediate support front."

Wyatt, one of the elders of the inner circle, leaned forward slightly, his brow furrowed.

"Young Jasper is in no condition for that. He can barely stand. Forcing him will only bring us more casualties."

The pressure in the room suddenly increased. The air seemed to become denser, as if the very atmosphere refused to breathe. The expression on the elderly intern Colson’s face darkened completely, his eyes flashing with contained anger.

"Wyatt... you know this is no time for personal indulgences. The clan is on the brink of collapse," he said in a grave voice, his aura of rank 7, Peak level, seeping into every corner.

But Wyatt didn’t flinch. He didn’t back down either. He was also rank 7, and his gaze was steady.

"My decision is not based on preference," he replied coldly. "I object to young Jasper being sent because he is not fit for duty. We all saw how he was publicly humiliated, tortured by Kael... and then his mother cut off three of his fingers. Sending him to the front in that condition is not only cruel, it is a death sentence. It would only result in losses."

The silence that followed was heavy. Colson looked down for a moment, and the tension in his face slowly dissipated. Not because he accepted the decision gladly, but because he understood that Wyatt was right.

After all, Jasper’s mental state was unstable. He had been stripped of everything: his honor, his pride, his position... and even his mother’s affection. That he had not yet lost his mind was, in itself, a miracle.

"All right," Colson finally said, his voice more controlled. "Jasper won’t be mobilized until he stabilizes. Now let’s get down to business: gather everyone available. Get resources out of the vault; we’re running out of hands."

He paused, his gaze sweeping solemnly over those present.

"And don’t let your guard down. The enemy surrounds us."

...

Watching people run through the streets like headless chickens, Kael, accompanied by Eren and Lydia, approached the northern part of the city to provide support and stabilize the area.

As they advanced, the corpses of silver wolves and people grew in number; in the air, you could hear the screams and cries of children clutching the lifeless bodies of their parents... or what was left of some of them.

Until they finally reached the place where the knights were fighting the silver wolves, trying to hold out as long as they could.

Kael rushed forward as his body was covered in a crimson aura, and several petals began to appear as he advanced. Like a whirlwind, he took down five silver wolves.

Eren and Lydia also joined in, supporting the knights who were about to die and saving their lives.

After killing most of the wolves, Kael stopped attacking and approached the leader of the group in charge of defending this area.

"What’s the situation?" he asked calmly, wiping the blood from his face.

Carter, who was the leader of the group, quickly reported, "The situation is very precarious. The silver wolf of viscount rank has not yet made a move; he has only been sending out his pack."

Kael looked toward the destroyed part of the wall, several thoughts running through his head. He hadn’t planned on helping, but for the moment, he would act.

So he began to give orders to the knights and a few wizards who had been sent as reinforcements.
