Reincarnated into a Snow Griffin -
Chapter 44
Chapter 44: Chapter 44
I did not think he would take my request so seriously. I indeed asked about the outside, and later got even curious about this stranger world that I was thrown in, but at that time he only made a ruckus about being too early to go on a date at my current state, and after some small fight as always I thought he would have dismissed it with his mockery and brush it off as always but, not only he did not leave it at that but a few days later, as I was finally able to walk around and was stretching my legs a little, he appears at the entrance of the cave with a smile on his face while bringing a bag with lots of things with him, excited to show the contents while calling me over.
"I know you are not totally recovered yet, but today is the perfect day to explore outside, it is an opportunity we cannot miss!" He says with utter enthusiasm, messing around with the contents of the bag until I have a clear view of the contents.
And they are...
"... Clothes?"
"Yeah, for you."
"What’s wrong with my clothes?" I ask defensively.
"Beyond all the blood and mud that stained it?"
"Well..."
"Your wings and tail, we have to hide them. And your... uhm, face too, especially your eyes, don’t want anyone staring after all, it can, uhm, it can be quite troublesome ok? Just... just trust me on this alright?" He says, flustering over his words, so I end up having to look at things myself and make a conclusion on my own.
First there is the basic set of clothes that do not change much from my own, being white with a blue drawing embroidered over at one side, almost as if a wingless dragon snake body had been sewed crisscrossing the cloth, curving along with the pants and shirt, the only difference from the average clothing is that the shirt has no back to it to give space to my wings and closing over my neck, but looking quite standard at the front.
Only that, beyond that there is a cape with long sleeves with the same color and pattern that covers my wings and back, and also a semi-transparent white veil that locks over my forehead, closing part of my hair back and covering most of my face, making it a little hard to see.
I dress up, looking over and around, only to sigh and say: "Is this really necessary? I can hardly see with this thing on my face."
"Absolutely." He says, the most serious I’ve ever seen him as. Really now? Is that such a big deal? What’s wrong with my face? Perhaps they can tell that I’m not human just by looking at me? I heard from the fairies that humans can be quite difficult to handle if you are not one of them, perhaps we may have some physical differences? Beyond the obvious wings and tail that is.
I’m left unsatisfied, and yet unable to debate about such subject that I know nothing about, so in the end I accept this cover for now and turn around to see him, only to feel a vein pop on my head at his spreading smile.
"See, see, we match!" He says, opening his arms only to show that his clothes are in pair with mine, only that instead of white and blue they are black and red, the sewed dragon completing mine if put side by side, almost as if been the same being.
"You!" I say before grabbing my book to hit him on the head, only for the rascal little devil to run away while laughing towards the outside as I follow him by walking, too slow for my tastes and unable to reach him at that speed, but still too hurt to run like that.
I figure his intentions may have been good, even trying to lift my mood up, but at that point I not only felt hurt but with wounded pride, which only made me flush red and him to laugh louder.
