Lexus and Isabella returned to the stagecoach; the little girl was still sleeping because she stuffed herself too much.

"Alright, let’s eat—and make sure to grab as much food as possible. She’s eating like five people!" Isabella said, pointing at the little girl—who wasn’t so little anymore. She was visibly growing.

"Well, maybe she didn’t eat for days? Let’s not judge. Lexis chuckled, then pulled out the small fire burner; it was given by the princess as well.

After eating, they took a rest. At night, Lexus wore a black robe and his samurai hat, and then, taking the sword from his waist, he left.

Seeing Lex’s back as he headed toward the deep forest, Isabella felt a pang in her heart, as if something ominous was about to happen.

"Why do I feel that way?" Isabella questioned herself, then shaking off the feeling, she grabbed the little girl’s hand, who was about to stuff herself with a whole dried chicken.

Lexus went forward; he didn’t feel anything special about this mission; his goal was to get gold as much as possible, then take food and come back.

"Well, taking a few carriages with me won’t be that bad," Lexus murmured while he traversed the forest.

The huge Black Leaves trees were as if dancing with the wind; Lexus then picked up the pace; his recent level ascension gave him a huge buff in speed too.

Lexus reached the Bandit town after some time, but he was not sure how to go about it. Does he go silently? Or slaughter his way in.

"Guess killing thousands is not my style." Lexus smiled while saying this and then walked slowly towards the bandit town’s entry point, where everyone gets checked before they can enter.

He hid his Bane Sword inside his ring, then hid the ring in his sleeves and only pulled out two gold coins.

As Lexus reached the gates of the bandit camp, he noticed a promising sign. A group was entering without any trouble—their leader simply winked and slipped a gold coin to the checker, who accepted it with a grin and let them pass without inspection.

Lexus smiled because this guard accepts bribes, which means easy entry and information.

Lexus also used the technique he saw earlier, went ahead, and gave the guard an unnatural wink because he was not used to winking and he didn’t even practice; then he gave the guard two fat gold coins.

The guard was bewildered; the weird wink and two gold coins, and the man in front of him, didn’t look like a bandit at all.

"I am not like that," the guard sternly said.

Lexus frowned; he was not sure what that means. Maybe he wants something like a password?

"Madusa?" Lexus said while narrowing his eyes a little.

"What? You know the King? " The guard stood up in shock; he then returned the gold to Lexus and bowed deeply.

"Well, yeah, very good, friendo." Lexus said like he was like a foreigner who couldn’t speak the language properly.

"Of course, of course, let me show you the way." Guard smiled widely, then got up from the seat he was in and walked inside the town.

Lexus followed the guard; the town was, although filled with bandits, an ecosystem here that sustained their livelihood. The whole town was made with scraps mostly, but it looked weirdly durable.

"Sir, you must be from the faraway land. We have already received 2 foreign guests; you’re the third one." Guard spoke his mind as to ease the tension he was feeling around Lexus.

Lexus hearing two more guests had come from foreign lands raised an eyebrow but didn’t react much.

Lexus was even stunned to see a market in the bandit town; they were selling food and grocery items.

Soon, Lexus was led to a massive tent that stood two stories high and stretched 500 feet wide. Outside, two luxurious carriages were parked, each guarded by ten knights in imposing armor.

"Sir, I can’t enter the tent, but I wish you good luck." The guard saying this ran back to his post, leaving Lexus alone in front of the tent.

Lexus, shrugging his shoulders, went ahead; he had fucking no idea who Medusa was, but if it worked, he’d use it again.

Lexus was stopped by the guards protecting the tent’s door; they looked at Lexus with a little suspicion.

"Medusa?" Lexus used his fake accent once again; he was from a very faraway place, and with his exotic face, he was pulling off the foreigner role.

"Oh!! Of course, the guard hearing the accent and the name instantly smiled and gestured for Lexus to enter the tent.

The tent inside was huge; it was like entering a palace. The whole place was decorated with red carpets, and there were fruits here and there, and maids with very little clothing were working hard.

Lexus then noticed a throne placed at the back of the tent, positioned on a podium where many people had gathered.

There was a huge man seated on that throne; he was wearing a spiky jacket and looked extremely happy.

"That thing is huge," Lexus murmured; the man seated on the throne was so huge that he looked like a giant.

"We can’t attack head-on," a gentle voice suggested.

Lexus looked at the source of the voice; there was a noble-looking woman speaking; she was seated just beside the Bandit King.

"Empire is not that weak. A head-on clash will be fatal. Even if we join forces, our chances of victory are close to none." Sarah said she was more practical about it than others because she is a Duke.

"Ahahaha, Imperial Nobles are fighting in my court just like us." Medusa’s laugh reverberated throughout the tent.
